09 Michigan Conference

I had a good breakfast every morning in Michigan at the Big Boy Restraunt next to The Country Inn & Suites where the church put me up during the Bible Conference.

This is a candid shot of the fellowship hall during one of the meals at the conference in between the great preaching services.

It was so good to see old friends again at the conference like the Smiths, the Works, (I preached for Bro. Works at Liberty Baptist Church on Wednesday night) Sister Harvey, Cyd and Frank James, and many others. Pictured above is Brother Kenneth Long, Sharon and Benjamin. (Bro. Long was was a Missionary out of our church in '95 to Vladivostok, Russia) The red car behind the Longs was loaned to me while I was there by brother Charlie Cosner, a faithful member there at Home Baptist.
A young preacher, Shawn Trescott, getting some wisdom from an old soldier of the cross, Elder Clyde Hancock.

Elder Mike Channell and his wife Janet. Sister Channel has recently published a good book for Chrstian ladies by the title "The Husband's Helpmate - Returning to the Lord's Pathway". It comes in two volumes and I read the first volume on the plane coming home. This is a good work and is worthy of consideration by women everywhere but especially those that are born again and want to live for God the Bible way.

The song leader brother Larry and Pastor Dan Gordon did a fine job keeping things going smoothly during the Bible Conference and the rest of the church members were also very busy behind the scenes. This is a great church and truly blessed of the Lord with faithful workers. For an audio clip of the message that yours truly preached on the the subject "Full, Free & Forever Salvation" please click here. Contact Brother Gordon if you want a CD of any of the sermons.

I was happy to be back home again after a wonderful time in Michigan at the Bible Conference there in Mt. Morris at the Home Baptist Church. Marion picked me up at SeaTac and we have her Mom Irmgard visiting with us this week end. We went to our daughter Cindi's house for a BBQ on Saturday and celebrated the birthdays of our grandchildren Kiersten and AJ Buffaloe. My sermon in Church at TLBC was on "The Faith of Moses and Courage". To see an outline of this message click here.

Muslim-American

Very good services at TLBC again today. My sermon was on "The Faith of Moses and Choices" and the outline can be reviewed on our Church Website click here. It was good to have the Turner's back from Idaho. Some were still out with physical infirmities and need our prayer. Good news about brother Skip. He is home from the hospital but the bad news is that when his boold count gets back in a good safe range they will probably have to do surgery again on his foot due to MRI readings that show more infection in the bone. We were expecting visitors in our services today but they did not show so we will press on and depend on the Lord to send us those that HE would have to be with us. He does all things well. Pray for me as I fly out of SeaTac in the morning to attend a Bible Conference in Mt. Morris, Michigan this week. I'll be home DV this Friday.

Is Muslim-American really an oxymoron?

Can a devout Muslim be an American patriot and a loyal citizen? I forwarded this question to someone who worked in saudi Arabia for 20 years. The following is his forwarded reply:

Theologically, no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia.

Religiously, no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah excep Islam (Quran, 2:256)

Scripturally, no Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).

Geographically, no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he prays five times a day.

Socially, no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

Politically, no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan.

Domestically, no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).

Intellectually, no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically, no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually, no. Because when we declare "one nation under God,"the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran's "99 excellent names."

Therefore after much study and deliberation.... perhaps we should be very suspicious of all devout Muslims in this country. They obviously cannot be both "good" Muslims and "good" Americans. This is NOT hate speach. Call it what you wish..... It's still the truth. If you find yourself intellectually in agreement with the above statements, perhaps you will share this with your friends. The more who understand this, the better it will be....for the religious war (Jihad) that is being waged in the world today is bigger and more complex than most Americans currently know or understand.

Laminin

We had a great day yesterday as Marion and I drove over to Yakima and visited with Sister Deuchle in Arbor House. We had lunch with her in the dining room and got all caught up on the prayer requests in the church and had a good season of prayer. Marion drove all the way over and back. She loves to drive and use her Garmin GPS device. I studied today for services in church this Lord's Day and next. Preparing for the trip to the Bible Conference in Mt. Morris, Michigan April 20-23.

Cindi sent me this clip on the cell adhesion protein molecule in our body that is a real inspirational blessing. It is about eight minutes long but worth it. The Bible says we are fearfully and wonderfully made. AMEN! And so it is... click here

Yours in HIM who is the fulness of the Godhead Bodily and who is holding us all together by His power and His power alone.

Ed Freeman

You're an 19 year old kid. You're critically wounded, and dying in the jungle in the Ia Drang Valley , 11-14-1965, LZ X-ray, Vietnam . Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8 - 1, and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in.

You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns, and you know you're not getting out. Your family is 1/2 way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again. As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day. Then, over the machine gun noise, you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter, and you look up to see an un-armed Huey, but it doesn't seem real, because no Medi-Vac markings are on it.

Ed Freeman is coming for you. He's not Medi-Vac, so it's not his job, but he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire, after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come. He's coming anyway. And he drops it in, and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 2 or 3 of you on board. Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire, to the Doctors and Nurses. And, he kept coming back.... 13 more times..... And took about 30 of you and your buddies out, who would never have gotten out.

Medal of Honor Recipient, Ed Freeman,died last Wednesday at the age of 80, in Boise, Idaho ......May God rest his soul..... I bet you didn't hear about this hero's passing, but we sure were told a whole bunch about some Hip-Hop Coward beating the crap out of his girlfriend.

TEA Party at State Capital Apr 15, 2009

Marion and I met Sister Joanna at TLBC and drove down this morning for the TEA Party at the State Capital in protest of all the taxes and big spending of our government. This is the first time we had ever been involved in a rally such as this and I must say I think every thing went smoothly and all was done decently and in order. We are now home a resting a little and looking forward to prayer meeting tonight at TLBC. I pray that our elected officials will listen to the people for a change. Get it? For a CHANGE!

4-12-09

My sermon today at TLBC was on "The Faith of Amram and Jochebed" and the outline is on the front page of our church website as usual. click here

Mom, Sister Gail and Abigail were all out sick today and the Turners were out of town as Brother Jim was preaching for the Bible Believers Baptist Church in Naples, Idaho. It was good to have Sister Joanna back in the services and we thank the Lord for traveling mercy on her vacation back to Kentucky and Michigan. We didn't have any visitors today either. Pray with us that God would be pleased to bless our outreach with the truth and save lost sinners and add the saved to the local body of Christ.

FLORIDA COURT SETS ATHEIST HOLY DAY

In Florida, an atheist created a case against the Upcoming Easter and Passover days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians, Jews and observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days. The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring,"Case dismissed!"

The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the Ruling , "Your honor,how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays."

The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant."

The lawyer said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists."

The judge said, "The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day. Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned.

You gotta love a Judge that knows his scripture!

Great Day in Church today. My sermon outline on "The Faith of Joseph" is on our TLBC front page. click here The First Friday Fellowship went very well too and Elder James Tweet from SPMBC in Seattle preached on "And With Much Assurance." I told him he could have changed the title to "A Heart with much Assurance" and the message would have fit in perfect with the theme of the Bible Conference Marion and I just returned from in Roseville, California. It was a nice drive down and back. The picture below is from the Mt Shasta area.

How Long Do We Have?

About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

'A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.''A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.''From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.''The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years' and during those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage'

Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, believes the United State s is now somewhere between the 'complacency and apathy' phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the 'governmental dependency' phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years. May God help everyone to realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom. I hope you will get on the Band Wagon and plan or attend a TEA Party soon.

Thanks for reading.

This is our Newsletter and Quarterly Report for the 1st quarter of 2009. See our church website for the outlines of the latest sermons on FAITH preached on Sunday mornings. In our afternoon services we continue to study a variety of things in the New Testament. The guest speaker for our anniversary services in January was Elder George Kelley, Pastor of the Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Ontario, California. Sister Alice came with him and we all had a wonderful time.

Pastor attended the Bible Conference in Granite Bay, California in March where Elder Mike Prater is Pastor. My message on “Keeping A Good Heart” was well received. Marion went with me this time and we drove down in her ’95 Buick LeSabre using a Garmin GPS to keep us on track. Marion drove all the way down and we got 30MPG on the trip. Coming back it was only 22MPG due to heavy head winds. It was a good trip. The Conference was outstanding and we were treated like royalty by the church there.

We have had about 595770 hits on our church website. We have visitors off and on. Pray for Penny, Jason, Becky, Brad, Crystal, Ann and Passion. We have also started a First Friday of the Month Fellowship and it is going over well with a faithful few. Our Tract A Day Club is not getting much activity for some reason. Pray that our people would want to be more involved in reaching out with this ministry. In January we handed out 104 tracts. In February we handed out 45 tracts. In March we handed out 70 tracts. The weather has a lot to do with it I think and the aging process of our membership.

Our church attendance still needs improvement. We are constantly seeking the Lord’s will on what we can do to be more effective with our outreach efforts and not compromise on truth or Biblical standards. As the weather turns nicer, I will be out in the neighborhood again passing out gospel tracts because, “If we want God’s blessing on our outreach, we must outreach.” I have also published my first two books using the POD technology at Xlibris Publishing. You may check them out on my Author Page at the Xlibris Website: www.xlibris.com/Killion.html

Our Missionaries are always thankful for your prayers. Brother Bob Ellis, our Missionary in Ireland is doing well at this time and we recently baptized a new believer, Sarah Doherty, there. Brother Cresencio Baldemor, our Missionary in Philippines is also doing well. The financial needs in the Filipino work are for church building projects and brother Baldemor’s travel expenses. Brother Russell had his knee replaced in February and is recovering nicely from that. Brother Skip is presently in the hospital again regarding a problem on his foot that will not heal due to complications from diabetes. He is doing better than he was and is requesting special prayer for his wife, sister Teresa, who is very down, depressed and discouraged. Remember our older members in prayer and those in distant places. Thanks again for your faithful prayers.
AMEN.
