The Winner

Nice day today. I finished a series of sermons on the Resurrection of Christ today at TLBC and the last sermon outline is available on the front page of our church website. click here

**************************
Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.

The winner was:

A four-year-old child, whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman, who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.

When his mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the Little boy just said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry."

2nd Amendment Rally in Olympia

Oh my! The weather was terrible this morning and I'm sure that put a damper on attendance at the March and Rally in Olympia today defending the 2nd Amendment right of Americans to own and bear arms. Eventually the sun came out and it was nice. Many of the folks there were "packing". There were a good number that wore their holsters openly and some even had carbines and rifles slung over their shoulders. There were some political candidates there and a couple gave fiery speeches in support of gun rights. Sean Salizar, running for Senator and David Hendricks, running for Congressman were two in particular that I remember. There was another young man there also (sorry I forgot his name) that was very knowledgeable about the State and Federal laws on gun control and so on. He was the gentleman that got the recent Seattle ban on guns in Parks struck down. I was also introduced to an organization called Open Carry and here is their website. click here

I didn't see any of the Tacoma 912 Project folks there. I think most of them went to the Western Washington Gun Show at the Puyallup Fairgrounds today and were busy getting signatures for Initiative 1058 which if passed will require the public schools to teach our children where we get our Constitutional Rights and why it is important to know the State and Federal Constitutions and their relationship to the Declaration of Independence. Students would be required to pass standardized testing on this subject to graduate from High School. If you have not signed this petition yet and you are a registered Washington voter, please sign it and get your friends and neighbors to sign it too. The next generation is losing it's rights and they don't even know it. This will help. Ignorance is NOT bliss when it comes to freedom.

Anti-amnesty is now racism...

Tell Rep. Jim McDermott that you are not a racist!

This new fax has been posted in my NumbersUSA Action Buffet.

You can find this fax by proceeding to http://www.numbersusa.com
During a pro-amnesty rally on Saturday in Seattle's Pioneer Square, Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Seattle) said that those opposed to amnesty for illegal aliens were hiding behind "a thin veil of racism and xenophobia."

Clearly, Rep. McDermott considers it racist to believe that unemployed American workers should have jobs instead of illegal aliens and xenophobic to believe that it is necessary to secure our borders. While those in the crowd in Pioneer Square seemed to enjoy Rep. McDermott's inflammatory rhetoric, polls show that the majority of Washingtonians (and Americans) oppose them.

Please send a fax to Rep. McDermott and tell him there is nothing racist or xenophobic about wanting to secure our borders and provide jobs for unemployed Americans of all races. Also, be sure to remind the representative that America's out of control mass illegal immigration has harmed, and is harming, the environment.

Tacoma 912 Meet up Group

Beautiful day today at church. My sermon this morning was on "Summary of Sightings" and you can see the outline on the front page of our church web sight click here. I've been preaching a series on the post resurrection appearances of Christ in between His resurrection and ascension.

Yesterday I attended the Tacoma 912 Meet up Group at the Summit Library click here and met Senatorial candidate Craig Williams in person. He is running to unseat Senator Patty Murray. Craig did an excellent job of articulating his position and principles. I am very impressed with Craig and sincerely hope that he wins the primary and defeats Patty in November.

Tax Day Tea Party @ Olympia 2010

The pledge of alegance and the singing of the National Anthom were heart moving.
There was plenty of heated talk about BO in the White House and Gregoir in our State's Governor's Mansion but I particularly liked the rocking chair setup someone had for Senator Patty Murray.

Good day. It didn't rain during the event and spirits were high. A peaceful protest by angry voters and tax payers. Liberal plants sent to disrupt and give the "Tea Baggers" some bad press were mainly identified and dealt with by means of pity and humor.

There might not have been as many there as last year.
I hope we all REMEMBER in November. I forgot my camera so took a few shots with my cell phone. Hope you like. I already had my "Don't Tread on ME" and "Taxed Enough Already" stickers. :)

Oh No! They're at it again!

Harry Reid claims only 4 votes short for Amnesty!
Senate Majority Leader promises crowd of Illegal Aliens and their supporters that he will deliver Amnesty; claims to have started work to pass Amnesty 'now'.

What they did with Obamacare, they now want to do with Amnesty...

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO RAISE
$116,663
BY TOMORROW MIDNIGHT TO STOP AMNESTY
ith the so-called Click Here to Donate Now
It's now or never in the U.S. Senate.

"We're going to come back, we're going to have comprehensive immigration reform now," Sen. Reid declared over the weekend. Yesterday, the Senate returned to Washington, and staffers were scrambling to fulfill Reid's promise that an Amnesty is the next big push.
Amnesty should be too unpopular for Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to tackle in an election year. After all, a CNN poll released yesterday showed that 66% of Americans do not want the path to citizenship made easier for illegal aliens. According to the poll, only four in ten Democrats want those changes!

So why would Democratic leaders in Congress want to push amnesty, an extremely unpopular measure, now? Bottom line is this: Reid knows the upcoming election is shaping up very badly for his party. He may lose his majority in the Senate. He very well may lose his own re-election bid. He's polling way behind in Nevada. He's almost out of tricks. For Reid, passing an Amnesty bill is literally Now or Never! He wants to push through an amnesty now when he may have the votes to overcome a filibuster. And he must be stopped.

We must raise $116,663 by midnight tomorrow. Every dollar will help fight against amnesty!
(If you have never had a chance to donate to NumbersUSA, please send $10 to stop this Amnesty!)
o Donate Now
Last weekend, raucous illegal alien rallies were held in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and other cities. More are scheduled in Dallas and New York. This is being done with the $30 million raised by our opposition to fund "comprehensive immigration reform." At a rally of illegal aliens and their supporters in Las Vegas Saturday, Reid said he believed he already had 56 Democratic votes for an Amnesty bill, just short of the 60 needed. And that doesn't count Sen. Lindsay Graham and other Republicans generally favorable to Amnesty.

Our opponents are desperate. I would just say that Reid is a blowhard politician who is obviously pandering to a certain crowd. But let's not make the mistake of taking this man too lightly. After all, he just succeeded in passing another pretty unpopular bill when everyone said it could not be done. Obviously, Sen. Reid believes that turning 12 - 20 million illegal aliens into voters will help solidify his lock on power. It will shore him up, if you will. Is this what you want? Will we stand by and be "rolled" by a desperate politico willing to trade America's future for another brief shot at power? No. NO. NO!!!

Please help us! Our goal is $116,663 by midnight tomorrow.
Our Campaign to S.T.O.P. Amnesty continues.

After you make a donation, I need you to go immediately to your NumbersUSA Action Board to start bombarding your Senators with phone calls and hitting them hard with faxes.
I'm not giving you specific links to the faxes and calls on this email because they vary greatly from state to state. Obviously, our approach needs to be tailored for each Senator.
We can't afford to lose even a single vote. Thanks to NumbersUSA's army of activist members, not one amnesty has passed Congress in 10 years (after 6 the previous decade). But if we stand idly by, Harry Reid will ram this amnesty down our throats and undue everything we've worked for. Make the donation. Go to the Action Board. Get involved!

I admit it

Yes, it's true. I do indeed have doubts that the present resident of the White House is constitutionally qualified to hold the office of President of the United States of America.

Adopted

Marion and I walked the MS Walk yesterday to earn donations click here for medical research in this dreaded disease. My sermon today at TLBC was another one in the series on the resurrection of Christ. It was entitled "Service By Commission" and had to do with the 8th post resurrection appearance of Christ. To see a copy of the sermon outline click here.

*********************************************

Teacher Debbie Moon's first graders were discussing a picture of a family. One little boy in the picture had a different hair color than the other members. One of her students suggested that he was adopted.

A little girl said, "I know all about adoption, I was adopted.."

"What does it mean to be adopted?", asked another child

"It means", said the girl, "that you grew in your mommy's heart instead of her tummy!"

Play Ball!

On my way home one day, I stopped to watch a Little League base ball game that was being played in a park near my home. As I sat down behind the bench on the first-base line, I asked one of the boys what the score was.

"We're behind 14 to nothing," he answered with a smile.

"Really," I said. "I have to say you don't look very discouraged."

"Discouraged?", the boy asked with a puzzled look on his face...

"Why should we be discouraged? We haven't been up to bat yet."
*************************
This reminded me of the words of John Paul Jones the famous American Sailor when he replied to the Admiral of the English fleet after being blasted with one terrible barrage after another. The English asked if he wanted to surrender and he said, "Sir, we have not yet begun to fight."

Good day in church at TLBC today. See our church website HERE.

Muslims Exempt from Obamacare

We had a wonderful time of fellowship at our First Friday Fellowship meeting at TLBC last night. I preached what I think is a timely message on " Be Not Deceived". You can see the sermon outline by doing a search on FACEBOOK for The Lords Baptist Church. Looking forward to good services again tomorrow in the Lord's House.

NEWSFLASH

The Senate health care bill just signed contains some exemptions to the mandate requiring purchase of Obamacare-approved health insurance or payment of a penalty fine. As Fox News has pointed out, Muslims are excused from the mandate.

Law experts say that kind of exemption withstands scrutiny.

"Here the statute is going to say that people who are conscientiously opposed to paying for health insurance don't have to do it where the conscientious objection arises from religion," said Mark Tushnet a Harvard law professor. "And that's perfectly constitutional."

Islam considers health insurance - and, for that matter, any form of risk insurance - to be haraam (forbidden).

Steve Gilbert of Sweetness & Light calls our attention to the probability that Muslims will also be expempt. According to a March 23 publication on an authoritative Islamic Web site managed by Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid, various fatwas (religious decrees) absolutely forbid Muslim participation in any sort of health care or other risk insurance:

Health insurance is haraam like other types of commercial insurance, because it is based on ambiguity, gambling and riba (usury). This is what is stated in fatwas by the senior scholars.

In Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa'imah (15/277) there is a quotation of a statement of the Council of Senior Scholars concerning the prohibition on insurance and why it is haraam:

It says in Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa'imah (15/251):

Firstly: Commercial insurance of all types is haraam because it involves ambiguity, riba, uncertainty, gambling and consuming people's wealth unlawfully, and other shar'i

Secondly: It is not permissible for the Muslim to get involved with insurance companies by working in administration or otherwise, because working in them comes under the heading of cooperating in sin and transgression, and Allaah forbids that as He says: "but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is Severe in punishment"

[al-Maa'idah 5:2]. End quote.

reservations.
And Allaah knows best.

So, it turns out that observant Muslims are not only strictly forbidden from buying any health insurance under the ObamaCare mandate, but may also not even work for any company that provides such insurance or any other form of commercial insurance.

It is not made clear whether or not it is religiously okay to accept "free" non-insured medical care such as that offered in hospital ERs and to some who are covered by Medicaid.

Whether it's all right to serve as a doctor, nurse, or orderly caring for patients whose medical services are being paid for by insurance is not covered in the present response - but one could probably obtain a religious ruling from the Sheikh, whose site welcomes the submission of questions about Islamic law and practices.

Happy Athiest's Day

I wish we had more judges like this one!
This is probably one of the best emails this year.
Have you heard about this case? Great answer from the judge!

In Florida. An atheist became incensed over the preparation of Easter and Passover holidays.. He decided to contact his lawyer about the discrimination inflicted on atheists by the constant celebrations afforded to Christians and Jews with all their holidays while atheists had no holiday to celebrate. The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the long passionate presentation by the lawyer, the Judge banged his gavel and declared, 'Case dismissed!'

The lawyer immediately stood and objected to the ruling and said, 'Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and many other observances. Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah...yet my client and all other atheists have no such holiday!

'The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said, 'Obviously your client is too confused to even know about, much less celebrate his own atheists' holiday!' The lawyer pompously said, 'Your Honor, we are unaware of any such holiday for atheists. Just when might that holiday be, your Honor? 'The judge said, 'Well it comes every year on exactly the same date---April 1st! Since our calendar sets April 1st as 'April Fools Day,' consider that Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, in my opinion, if your client says there is no God, then by scripture, he is a fool, and April 1st is his holiday! Now have a good day and get out of my courtroom!!
