Not me. I concentrate on solutions for the problems. It's a win-win situation.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.

Nice day in God's House again today. Several out sick but the Lord was there. AMEN! It was Sister Joanna's last day with us as she is moving to Burton, Michigan to be with her family there. She really liked the Bible we gave her as a going away present. My Sunday school lesson was on "The Great Day of God's Wrath" and the morning sermon was on "In Case You Forgot". God is sitting in Heaven when a scientist says to Him, "Lord, we don't need you anymore. Science has finally figured out a way to create life out of nothing. In other words, we can now do what you did in the 'beginning'."

"Oh, is that so? Tell me..." replies God.

STOCK BOY & CHECKOUT GIRL

In a supermarket, Kurtis the stock boy, was busily working when a new voice came over the loud speaker asking for a carry out at register 4.

Kurtis was almost finished, and wanted to get some fresh air, and decided to answer the call. As he approached the check-out stand a distant smile caught his eye, the new check-out girl was beautiful. She was an older woman (maybe 26, and he was only 22) and he fell in love.

Later that day, after his shift was over, he waited by the punch clock to find out her name. She came into the break room, smiled softly at him, took her card and punched out, then left. He looked at her card, BRENDA. He walked out only to see her start walking up the road.

Next day, he waited outside as she left the supermarket, and offered her a ride home. He looked harmless enough, and she accepted. When he dropped her off, he asked if maybe he could see her again, outside of work. She simply said it wasn't possible.

He pressed and she explained she had two children and she couldn't afford a baby-sitter, so he offered to pay for the baby-sitter. Reluctantly she accepted his offer for a date for the following Saturday. That Saturday night he arrived at her door only to have her tell him that she was unable to go with him. The baby-sitter had called and canceled. To which Kurtis simply said, "Well,
let's take the kids with us."

She tried to explain that taking the children was not an option, but again not taking no for an answer, he pressed. Finally Brenda, brought him inside to meet her children. She had an older daughter who was just as cute as a bug, Kurtis thought, then Brenda brought out her son, in a wheelchair. He was born a paraplegic with Down Syndrome.

Kurtis asked Brenda, "I still don't understand why the kids can't come with us?" Brenda was amazed. Most men would run away from a woman with two kids, especially if one had disabilities - just like the father of her children had done. Kurtis was not ordinary - - - he had a different mindset.

That evening Kurtis and Brenda loaded up the kids, went to dinner and the movies. When her son needed anything Kurtis would take care of him. When he needed to use the restroom, he picked him up out of his wheelchair, took him and brought him back. The kids loved Kurtis. At the end of the evening, Brenda knew this was the man she was going to marry and spend the rest of her life with.

A year later, they were married and Kurtis adopted both of her children. Since then they have added five more kids.

So what happened to Kurtis the stock boy and Brenda the check-out girl?

Well, Mr. & Mrs. Kurt Warner now live in Iowa, where he is currently Retired as a quarterback of the National Football League. He and Brenda now have seven children and Kurt is eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame after the 2014 season. Kurt's Stats.

Is this a surprise ending or could you have guessed that he was not an ordinary person.

THE REST OF THE STORY:

Kurt and Brenda are dedicated Christians and are constantly giving back to the community. One example is when Kurt, his wife and 7 children go out to eat, he has one of his children pick out a family eating at the restaurant. Kurt then tells the wait staff he is picking up the tab for that family's dinner anonymously. He remembers the days when he was working nights in the grocery store and feeding his family on food stamps.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE




1920s, 30s 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s!!



First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us and lived in houses full of asbestos.



They took aspirin, ate blue cheese & tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes or cervical cancer.



Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints.



We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets or shoes, not to mention, the risks we took on those home made ski jumps.



As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.




A trip to the beach on a warm day was always a special treat.



We drank water from the stream and NOT from a bottle.




There was no fast foods, fish and chips, no pizza shops, McDonalds, KFC, Subway or Taco joints.



Even though all the shops closed at 6.00pm and only opened for a few hours on weekends but not on Sunday, somehow we didn't starve to death!



We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.



We could collect old drink bottles and cash them in at the corner store and buy bubble gum, candy and some firecrackers to blow up things with.



We ate biscuits, white bread and real butter and drank soft drinks with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because.....



WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!!



We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.



No mobile phones - no one was able to reach us all day.
And we were always O.K.



We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. We built tree houses and dens and played in streams with matchbox cars and toy soldiers and cowboys and Indians.



We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on Cable, no video tape or DVD movies, no surround sound, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms .....we listened to plays on the radio while sitting around the fire. No central heating!

WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!



Pre late 1950s we had NO TV, and no Fridges - imagine that!

And linolium on the bedroom floors - no carpets!



We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
Lawsuits from these accidents.



Only girls had pierced ears!



We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.



We got BB guns for our birthdays and even got to shoot Dad's rifle once or twice.



Some of us drank milk from cows that had eaten grass covered in nuclear fallout from the atomic testing.



We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them from the street!




Mom didn't have to go to work to help dad make ends meet!




Mom and Dad didn't need Brandy, Whiskey, or whatever when they came in from work! A glass of lemonade, ice tea, or cornbread and milk was enough.



Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!



Our teachers used to give SWATS with big paddles and bully's always ruled the playground at school.



The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!



This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!



The past 70 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.



We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned



HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!



And YOU are one of them!



CONGRATULATIONS!



You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good.



And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were.



Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!

Refiner of Silver

Several were out sick or serving elsewhere today but we still had a good number for one of the Lord's "Little Flocks." My Sunday school Lesson was on "The Hour of Temptation' and the Morning Sermon was on "The Rational and Irrational Will of God." I taught in the afternoon service on "The Christian and Civil Government." CLICK HERE


Mal 3:3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. (KJV)

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered
what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.

One of the women offered to find out the process of refining
silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment
to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason
for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining
Silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over
the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed
to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were
hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then
she thought again about the verse that says:
'He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.'

She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there
in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.

The man answered that yes,he not only had to sit there holding
the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time
it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the
flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith,
'How do you know when the silver is fully refined?'
He smiled at her and answered, 'Oh, that's easy --when I see my
image in it.'

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God
has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His
image in you.

And, whatever you're going through, you'll be a better person
in the end.


'Life is a coin. You can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only
spend it once.

Important findings being hidden from public

The full results of a national study that favors abstinence education is being withheld from researchers and the public.

The taxpayer-supported survey from 2008 found that around 70 percent of parents and their teenagers believed that teens should wait until marriage to have sex. Despite release of the study's summary and its highlight at two major public health conferences last year, the Department of Health and Human Services is withholding the full results according to Valerie Huber, executive director of the National Abstinence Education Foundation.

"When a researcher [Dr. Lisa Rue] asked the HHS for the full results, she [was told it] is not public information and it has not been released to the public and so you don't have access to it," relates Huber. "[I find that] a little incredulous since it was shared publicly at two different venues."

Valerie Huber questions the motivation of the Obama administration, noting that "as of this past fiscal year, President Obama specifically put in his budget a desire to end all funding for abstinence education."
She hopes a change will be made soon. "We think that an administration that wants things to be open and clear should certainly do something different than the decision that is currently being exercised," Huber remarks.

In a short article [PDF] about her efforts to obtain a copy of the "National Survey of Adolescents and Their Parents" (conducted by Abt Associates), Dr. Rue says that having been denied access twice by the Obama administration "leaves me to reflect on the role of cultural values with regard to prevention science."

Dr. Lisa Rue (Univ. of No. Colorado)The University of Northern Colorado assistant professor continues: "If we are truly interested in learning how to prevent two critical epidemics currently devastating our country (out-of-wedlock child bearing and sexually transmitted infections), then the nationally representative findings provide momentum and support for accessing cultural values of parents and children which promote optimal health choices for adolescents."

Echoing Huber's concern, Rue concludes with this statement: "...At this point in time, we must ask ourselves: Is this valuable process being suppressed by those who wish to repress American values in an effort to exert control over sex education offered in the United States?"

Huber is encouraging abstinence supporters to hold the Obama administration accountable by asking for the full report through a Freedom of Information Act request, which is available at the website for the National Abstinence Education Foundation.

95yr old Hero

This venerable and much honored WW II vet is well known in Hawaii for his seventy-plus years of service to patriotic organizations and causes all over the country. A humble man without a political bone in his body, he has never spoken out before about a government official, until now. He dictated this letter to a friend, signed it and mailed it to the president.

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.


I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate.. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor , allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.


One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.


So here goes.


I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.


I can't figure out what country you are the president of.
You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:
" We're no longer a Christian nation"
" America is arrogant" - (Your wife even
announced to the world," America is mean-
spirited. " Please tell her to try preaching
that nonsense to 23 generations of our
war dead buried all over the globe who
died for no other reason than to free a
whole lot of strangers from tyranny and
hopelessness.)
I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.


After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."


Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom..


I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.


Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.


Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue . You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.


And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts , who was putting up a fight? You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.


One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.


You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.
You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat.. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.
And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle...

When a 95 year old hero of the "the Greatest Generation" stands up and speaks out like this, I think we owe it to him to send his words to as many Americans as we can.

Obama Concedes

As the debate over ObamaCare raged, President Obama strenuously denied the charge that the mandate (requiring Americans to buy health insurance or pay a fine) was a tax during an interview with George Stephanopoulos.

Now that several states, including Virginia and Missouri, are fighting back, however, the Obama administration has changed its tune in court.

According to The New York Times, "In a brief defending the law, the Justice Department says the requirement for people to carry insurance or pay the penalty is 'a valid exercise' of Congress's power to impose taxes."1

Finally, the administration has conceded what the freedom movement has been warning Americans about all along: the mandate is nothing more than another way to reach into our pockets.

ObamaCare wasn't about reforming health care... it was about grabbing even more POWER and forcing us to submit to their agenda.

Big Government will grow even bigger as the IRS alone could hire thousands of new employees to "ensure compliance" with the mandate.

Even worse, the IRS may diminish or completely withhold your tax refund unless you either carry Obama-approved health insurance or pony up more of your money to cover the fine.

And the power of politicians and bureaucrats will expand dramatically as they FORCE U.S. citizens to buy insurance as a condition of citizenship and seize unprecedented control over American health care and businesses of every size.

That is... unless everyone who loves liberty stands up and FIGHTS BACK.

Once again, the Champion of the Constitution is leading the way.

Wow. Hot weather has some of our Northwest folks really dragging. We were so thankful for the A/C today in our worship services. My Sunday school lesson today was on "Spots and Wrinkles" and my Morning sermon was on "The Strange Doctrines of Modern Salvation". Both of these outlines are on the front page of our TLBC website. Death's Door

We had good services again today in God's house at TLBC. I've started a study in our Sunday School on the Book of Revelation and my morning sermon was on "Signs of Life." Again, we have the outlines posted on the front page of our church website. TLBC

Budget Civics

The Washington Post babbled again about Obama inheriting a huge deficit from Bush. Amazingly enough ... A lot of people swallow this nonsense. So once more, a short civics lesson and a look at what has happened with the budget in recent Fiscal Years.

Budgets are not controlled by the White House. They are controlled by Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party. They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For FY 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period: (see chart above) Let these FACTS about the deficit sink in.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I expanded that deficit four-fold since January 20th, 2009.

Urgent Alert: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is planning to force a vote on Elena Kagan’s confirmation for a lifetime appointment on the U.S. Supreme Court in a matter of days.

According to The Hill: "Democratic leaders plan to open debate on the Kagan nomination late Tuesday or Wednesday, which would allow just three days of debate — or possibly less, if senators hope to leave on Thursday night, as they typically do." The Hill is being generous. In actuality, according to our math, opening debate on Tuesday afternoon will only permit two days of debate, at best, if the Senate adjourns on Thursday as planned.

So... why is Harry Reid trying to rush Kagan's confirmation through the Senate? Senator Jeff Sessions told The Hill that Reid's rush tactic "may be an attempt to compact the nomination so the American people aren’t as able to be attuned to what’s occurring. The nominee isn’t particularly popular with the American people. So maybe they want to force it through. It’s not good.” Make no mistake, as you read this urgent appeal, Harry Reid is sweating bullets over Kagan’s confirmation. He knows full well that Elena Kagan is one of the least popular Supreme Court nominees in recent memory... And, he knows that if he cannot FORCE a vote on her confirmation prior to the August recess – before the American people have a chance to express their opposition – Kagan’s support in the Senate could crumble. In fact, some moderate Democrat Senators may already be wavering. Senator Sessions recently told Jason Mattera with Human Events that "a number of Democrats" are "uneasy" about the Kagan nomination and that some of them can be picked off.

WE did not sue AZ...

Once again, the despicable conduct of the Obama Administration compels us to do a "reality check," this time in regard to the lawsuit filed by Eric Holder's Justice Department against the State of Arizona. Put aside, for the moment, the abject hypocrisy of his selective devotion to the law, wherein criminal actions are ignored or dismissed if committed by such thugs as King Samir Shabazz of the New Black Panthers against common citizens attempting to vote, while decent and honorable efforts to maintain the integrity of one's country or one's state are targeted for legal dissolution.

Of course the ruling was going to be against Arizona. Susan Bolton, the Federal Judge "deciding" the case was a Clinton appointee. Enough said. From the start, this proceeding never had anything to do with the defense of United States law, nor any other constitutional consideration. It was predetermined on the basis of political ideology. Bill Clinton, like Barack Obama is a leftist. And his judicial appointees, without exception, have been likewise.

Yet Holder's duplicity and corruption go much further than even this abominable event, and aside from the immediate danger posed to the people of Arizona, they represent an enormous breach in the structure of this nation's entire legal system. An out of control justice department not only fails to provide safeguards for all decent Americans; it stands as a threat to the preservation of "domestic tranquility," their birthright. And that should be its real goal and purpose.

For starters, the very name attributed to this action, "The United States Versus Arizona" howls with untruth. The foundations of this nation, based in the principles of a constitutionally cohesive federation of sovereign states, would suggest that if the United States Department of Justice were ever to engage in legal activity under such a heading, it might require a shred of support from "We the People" across the nation. But aside from the elitists of the liberal political and media establishment, no such support exists.

Instead, Americans overwhelmingly support the actions of Arizona, and desire to see the law implemented and carried forward to success for their own sakes as well. Arizona's fate depends on it, as does that of all America. The very argument that Arizona is "usurping federal law," on which the Holder case was fabricated, lends credence to the fact that, at one time, national concern over the illegal invasion was sufficient to establish and implement federal statutes to accomplish the very thing Arizona is now attempting to do.

Were federal officials determinedly and diligently confronting the influx of illegal invaders, Arizona law enforcement operations in this jurisdiction might well be perceived as an unnecessary interference. But of course nothing of the kind is happening in the Grand Canyon State. Federal enforcement has been purposefully nonexistent. And it was for that very reason that Arizona took upon itself the task of dealing with the invasion.

Holder, in his flowery opposition to SB 1070, engaged in the most blatant degree of deceit imaginable. In a purely political venture, the head of the United States Department of Justice sent his team of lawyers into a courtroom armed with outright lies, but comfortable nevertheless with the fact that such would be sufficient for Bolton to "rule" in their favor.

Did the citizens of the other forty-nine states really want to declare war on Arizona for attempting to protect its borders and restore its legal and cultural integrity? Yet that fallacious supposition was precisely what this federal lawsuit represented. In reality Holder, or more specifically his boss and ideological kindred Barack Obama, no more speak for the rest of this nation on illegal immigration than on socialized healthcare, the economic destruction of the Gulf Coast (not by the oil spill, but from the unwarranted drilling moratorium), nationalization of banks and manufacturing industries, or the fanatical effort to outlaw and suppress free speech prior to the upcoming elections.

It is worthwhile to ponder the degree to which the function of our nation's government has been debased and corrupted, leaving us at this abysmal milestone. Rather than allowing the State of Arizona to "secure the blessings of liberty" to its current generation and their posterity, the ability to do so, formerly unquestioned, has now been thwarted by the action of a single Federal Judge who simply chose not to uphold the law as already written.

In other words, the veracity of state sovereignty is under attack. Once the Obama cabal managed to get their case before the right individual, they summarily declared Arizona unable to defend its own citizens from the criminal destruction and taking of their state. And worst of all, this abomination was committed ostensibly in the name of the rest of the American people.
Arizona's ability to maintain a worthwhile social structure within its own borders is foundational to its proper functioning as a state, and along with similar action from other states, is critical to the future of the nation. If it can be dismissed and revoked with such ease at the whim of a judge, at the bidding of a "Justice" Department that has repeatedly exhibited its contempt for true, even-handed justice, no aspect of real America remains immune to the burgeoning menace.
Selective "enforcement" of the law is a sure sign that those in power are using the nation's entire legal apparatus to their own ends. Holder has engaged in such behavior on multiple occasions, for the expressed purpose of advancing his own perverse, leftist, and by definition, anti-American ideology. That he would do so to stop SB 1070 is an attack on the good people of Arizona. That he would presume to do so in the name of this United States is an enormously greater affront, and in fact a crime, against every decent citizen of this country.

A while back I preached a series on Christ and the 10 Commandments and I saw this cute remark taken from the journal of a seasoned Sunday School teacher regarding class discussion of the 10 Commandments...

By God's grace, CitizenLink® and our associated groups in the states have helped to advance truth and righteousness in the culture, with results that are tremendously encouraging. Let me share with you a few of those results:

Critical religious liberty protections were passed.

Deceptive gambling schemes have been defeated in numerous states—sparing tens of thousands of individuals and families the devastating consequences of gambling addiction.

And there's more:
Public-school textbooks around the nation will have more truth about American history—and less political correctness—thanks to a huge win in one key state.

Parental rights have been strengthened with a landmark victory in another state. The central role of parents is protected when it comes to education, sexual materials, medical records and much more.

Thus, homosexual mega-donors like Tim Gill have poured millions into state legislative races. Their goal? To defeat pro-marriage legislators and give control to politicians who will block votes on marriage amendments in their legislatures. As a result, in many states that don't allow amendments to be put on the ballot by petition, the people never have a chance to vote.

That's what happened in Indiana, where Democrats took over the state House in 2006, and Speaker Pat Bauer has blocked votes on marriage ever since; similar story in Pennsylvania.
It's what happened in Iowa as well. As a result, the state Supreme Court was free to impose same-sex unions on the Hawkeye State. And in New Hampshire, the strategy actually resulted in narrow legislative passage of same-sex marriage last year.

I don't know what to think about it. I thought by now the voters would be more interested in meeting the candidates in person so that they might be more informed when they cast their ballots. Maybe THIS is why we wound up with the disconnected characters we have in office now. I like :

I was originally for Craig Williams but he had to drop out of the race.
I was leaning more toward Clint Didier after Craig dropped out. Many are supporting Dino Rossi but I'm not comfortable with Dino. He is a good guy but seems distant and not really fired up about my concerns. I attended my regular TACOMA 912 Project meeting Saturday night and met Paul Akers. I had seen Paul's ad on TV and wasn't really impressed by it. It seemed like a Madison Avenue type ad in which he rattled off a bunch of political cliche's that are what most people probably want to hear. It looked like a professional big money type of thing that didn't really give me any assurance that it wasn't just another political sales pitch. But after meeting Paul in person and hearing him talk for more than an hour I have been persuaded to move over to his camp. I have a DVD that tells more about him. The more I learn the more I like. I am wishing now that Clint would throw his support behind Paul.

April May June 2010

This is our Quarterly Report for the 2nd quarter of 2010. For outlines of Lord’s Day morning sermons see our church website. We finished a series on The Resurrection of Christ and started one on Christ and the Ten Commandments. In our afternoon services we are studying the Articles of Faith. Brother Russell turned his Sunday school class over to Brother Turner. We missed attending the Bible conference in Mt. Morris, Michigan this year and the one in Dover, Tennessee but heard that they were very good. We are looking forward to attending the First Annual Bible Conference of the Bible Believers Baptist Church in Naples, Idaho over 4th of July weekend. We had Brother Rick King come professing salvation and requesting scriptural baptism this quarter and we may have the baptism in Idaho this weekend. Several from the church here are traveling over for the meeting at BBBC.

Lines of communication have opened again with Alex Zazhitko in Chernigov, Ukraine. You may remember we almost went there in 09 to baptize, ordain and the organization of a Sovereign Grace Landmark Baptist Church but everything suddenly shut down. It turns out that certain false brethren were sending forged emails to Alex as if they were from me saying that we were no longer interested in the work there. I was told that he had abandoned the work and moved to southern Ukraine to take a mega church but that was not true. He is now in contact with someone in Mississippi that is working with him. Pray for them.

Our church attendance has been up and down and still needs more improvement. Our First Friday of the Month Fellowship continues to be a blessing. Guest speakers this quarter were Jim Tweet, Jim Hunt and Jim Turner. Our Tract a Day Club recorded 331 tracts handed out for this quarter. Pray that we would be more effectual in reaching out to the lost and unchurched. Brother Turner and Brother Bob Ellis finished chemo treatments and are both doing very well thank the Lord. Sister Cookie is recovering from heart surgery and cataract surgery. Pray for her as there are complications with her diabetes and also glaucoma.

Our Missionaries thank you for your prayers. Brother Bob Ellis in Ireland saw his cancer Dr. on 4/22 about the latest PET scan and after another cat scan that went well. They are now working on setting up a bone marrow transplant. Brother Cresencio Baldemor, in the Philippines is doing well. He had his 84th birthday in June. Funds are needed for Lawa-an building project and travel expenses. Pray also for political peace and safety from fanatics of other religions that are a threat to Christians in certain places on Mindanao. Remember our older members in prayer and those in distant places. Thanks again for your faithful prayers. Pray for those in uniform and for our country; we need God now more than ever. Even so, Come Lord Jesus!

Happy Independence Day

We had a good trip over to Idaho this week end and I preached Friday night and Saturday morning. We also had a special baptism service at the lake and brother Rick King was added to our assembly by the ordinance of baptism.
