Asked whether U.S. advocacy for “reproductive health” overseas includes abortion, Obama’s Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated her “strongly held view” that it was the Administration’s right to advocate “anywhere in the world” and that “an important part of women’s health and reproductive health includes access to abortion . . .” Early in his presidency, Obama decided to give our taxpayer dollars to the United Nations Population Fund, which is closely linked to China’s brutal population control program that includes forced abortions.  Last year, Vice President Joe Biden told an audience at a university in China that he wouldn’t “second-guess” that program: “Your policy,” Biden said, “has been one which I fully understand – I’m not second-guessing – of one child per family.” It’s time the American people second-guess the foreign policy of an Administration that puts more effort into expanding abortion overseas than it does into protecting life. Government Seizing More Land

Government moving to seize more land.

Norm Dicks (Wa. D) and Patty Murray (Wa. D) toured a Shelton Shell Fish Facility with several County officials last month promoting their latest draft of Wild Olympics Wilderness & Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 2012.  It would designate more than 126,500 acres of new wilderness in Olympic National Forest including nineteen Olympic Peninsula rivers and their major tributaries as “wild and scenic.”  The proposed legislation is now in committee.  HR 5995 is sponsored by Dicks and Congressman Jim McDermott and SB 3329 is sponsored by Murray.

The Aberdeen and Cosmopolis city councils and Grays Harbor County commissioners have passed resolutions opposing the Wild Olympics campaign.  Dicks and Murray say they have made compromises to overcome objections that it would be too restrictive on logging and recreation.  Carol Johnson, executive director of the North Olympic Timber Action Committee, said her group is opposed to the Wild Olympics act because of its potential impact on jobs. “One of the issues with us about the Wild Olympics proposal is that we met with the Norm Dicks and Sen. Murray staffs and they pretty much ignored all of our suggestions,” Johnson said.  

“We’ve tried to make this benefit the area and not do any harm. I think we’ve made this much more acceptable to people on the Olympic Peninsula,” Dicks said. Whether they turned around public opinion after nearly three years of talks is questionable. The Peninsula is filled with signs charging a “land grab.”
 

If the bill does not pass this year, Dicks won’t be here to make it happen again. He is retiring his seat after 36 years in office.  It is unlikely the bill will make it through either the House or Senate this year but Patty Murray said she would continue pushing forward with the legislation after Dicks retires.  Derek Kilmer, is the man Norm endorsed to fill his slot in the Washington State 6^th Congressional District.  Kilmer’s campaign had $714,674.54 cash on hand at the end of the 2012 2^nd quarter to carry on the agenda of the Democrats.

The Republican candidate for the 6^th District seat, Bill Driscoll, said, “It makes no sense to push forward a proposal to lock up broad tracts of land without the support of the people who live and work in the affected areas.  This is an important decision that will define our region for generations to come.  It would be a shameful failure to have a politically divisive plan imposed on us by special interests in Seattle or politicians in Washington D.C.”  

Tea Party Patriot Washington State Coordinator Peggy Hutt says, “The only issue here is whether the GOP takes control of the Senate. If they do, none of the Wild Olympics Bills will make it out of committee in either the House or Senate. If the Democrats hold the Senate, it still will get nowhere in the House.” 

Ben Kuhner, President of the Board of the Kitsap Patriots Tea Party said, “"Kitsap Patriots Tea Party supports the opposition to the Wilderness Act by those who have studied the proposed legislation and will be most closely impacted by it.  While we in Kitsap County are not as directly affected as counties to the west of us, we have an abiding interest in protecting the continued access and enjoyment of our lands for all Washingtonians, not just the elite few who will be deemed "acceptable" under ever increasingly restrictive designations."

Old Timey Words

I know some of you will not understand this message, 

but I bet you know someone who might.

I came across this phrase yesterday. 'FENDER SKIRTS.' 

A term I haven't heard in a long time, and thinking about 

'fender skirts' started me thinking about other words that 

quietly disappear from our language with hardly a notice 

like'curb feelers.'

And 'steering knobs.' (AKA) 'necking knobs.'

Since I'd been thinking of cars, my mind naturally  

went that direction first.

Any kids will probably have to find some older person 

over 50 to explain some of these terms to you.

Remember 'Continental kits?' They were rear bumper 

extenders and spare tire covers that were supposed to 

make any car as cool as a Lincoln Continental.
When did we quit calling them 'emergency brakes?At some point 'parking brake' became the proper term. But 

I miss the hint of drama that went with 'emergency brake.'

I'm sad, too, that almost all the old folks are gone who 

would call the accelerator the 'foot feed.' Many today 

do not even know what a clutch is or that the dimmer 

switch used to be on the floor. For that matter, the starter 

was down there too.

Didn't you ever wait at the street for your daddy to  

come home, so you could ride the'running board'  

up to the house?

Here's a phrase I heard all the time in my youth but 

never anymore - 'store-bought.' Of course, just about 

everything is store-bought these days.
But once it was bragging material to have a store-bought 

dress or a store-bought bag of candy.

'Coast to coast' is a phrase that once held all sorts of excitement 

and now means almost nothing. Now we take the term 

'worldwide' for granted. This floors me.


On a smaller scale, 'wall-to-wall' was once a magical term in our homes. In the '50s,everyone covered his or her hardwood floors with, wow, wall-to-wall carpeting! Today, everyone replaces their wall-to-wall carpeting with hardwood floors. Go figure.


When was the last time you heard the quaint phrase 'in a family way?' It's hard to imagine that the word 'pregnant' was once considered a little too graphic, a little too clinical for use in polite company, so we had all that talk about stork visits and 'being in a family way' or simply 'expecting.'

Apparently 'brassiere' is a word no longer in usage. I said it the other day and my daughter cracked up. I guess it's just 'bra' now.
'Unmentionables' probably wouldn't be understood at all.

I always loved going to the 'picture show,' but I considered 

'movie' an affectation.

Most of these words go back to the '50s, but here's a pure 

'60s word I came across the other day 'rat fink.' 

Ooh, what a nasty put-down!

Here's a word I miss - 'percolator.' That was just a fun word 

to say. And what was it replaced with 'Coffee maker.' How dull... Mr. Coffee, I blame you for this.


I miss those made-up marketing words that were meant to 

sound so modern and now sound so retro. Words like  

'Dyna Flow' and 'Electrolux' and 'Frigidaire'.

Food for thought. Was there a telethon that wiped out 

lumbago? Nobody complains of that anymore.
Maybe that's what Castor oil cured, because I never hear 

mothers threatening kids with Castor Oil anymore.

Some words aren't gone, but are definitely on the endangered list. The one that grieves me most is 'supper.' 

Now everybody says 'dinner.' Save a great word.
Invite someone to supper. Discuss fender skirts.

Someone forwarded this to me. I thought some of us of 

a 'certain age' would remember most of these.

I'm in a bind.

The Federal Election Commission (FEC), with the wholehearted support of Barack Obama’s Department of Justice, expressly forbids me from telling you which candidates are pro-life activists and leaders whose election you should directly support.

And they say, because NPLA's Political Action Committee (PAC) is "affiliated," it's illegal for me to ask you for PAC support or solicit funds for solidly pro-life candidates.

It sounds crazy, I know.

But Obama and the pro-abortion bureaucrats who run the federal government don't want pro-life activists like you and me to be politically organized going into the 2012 election.

That's why the IRS/FEC will only let me directly tell "a restricted class" of "legal members" of the National Pro-Life Alliance explicitly who they should -- and shouldn't -- vote for in the next election.

The good news is, I've found a loophole, and it's pretty easy.

All you need to do is chip in at least $5 (or more), and take a positive pro-life action, and you can then be counted as part of our "legal membership."

What's wrong with Wal-Mart?

We had a good First Friday Fellowship meeting tonight at TLBC.  Brother Jim Turner preached a message out of Isa.44 entitled “The Thrice Holy One Worthy of Worship” - Hear the audio.

What is wrong with Wal-Mart?  I received this the other day.

         1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart
         every hour of every day.

         2. This works out to $20,928 profit every
         minute!

         3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to
         St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target
         sells all year.

         4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger
         + Target +Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

         5.. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is  the
         world's largest private employer, and  most
         speak  English.

         6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the
         history of the world.

         7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger
         and Safeway combined, and keep in mind they
         did this in only fifteen years.

         8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket
         chains sought bankruptcy.

         9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other
         store in the world.

         10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the
          USA   of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is
         1,000 more than it had five years ago.

         11. This year, 7.2 billion different purchasing
         experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores.
         (Earth's population is approximately 6.5
         Billion.)

         12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen
         miles of a Wal-Mart.

         You may think that I am complaining, but I am
         really laying the ground work for suggesting
         that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run
         Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

         This should be read and understood by all
         Americans, Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!

         To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature, it is now official that the majority of  you are corrupt  and need to go away:

a... The U.S. Postal Service was established
in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it
right and it is broke.

b.. Social Security was established in  1935.
You have had 74 years to get it right and it
is broke.

         c.. Fannie Mae was established in 1938.  You
         have had 71 years to get it right and it is
         broke.

         d.. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have
         had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion  of
         our money is confiscated each year  and
         transferred to "the poor" and they only  want
         more.

         e.. Medicare and Medicaid were established  in
         1965. You have had 44 years to get it right
         and they are broke.

         f.. Freddie Mac was established in 1970.  You
         have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.

         g.. The Department of Energy was created  in
         1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign  oil.
         It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a
         budget of $24 billion a year and we import
         more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to
         get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

         You have FAILED in every "government service"
         you have shoved down our throats while
         overspending our tax dollars.  What a SHAME! 


         NOW YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE
         TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE
         SYSTEM   ?? 

No!  No! No! A thousand times – NO!  If you cannot clearly see and understand the plain facts listed above that WE THE PEOPLE see and understand, then at least LISTEN to us for a change.  Change?  Oh yes.  WE most definitely need a change.  If you do not repent and stop spending what you do not have and putting our nation in debt to historically unfriendly foreign powers, then, the change is going to be your removal and replacement.  Do NOT ignore this warning.  A smug elitist attitude will only anger your constituents even more.  It’s time.

Someone who understands our system of checks and balances and the separation of powers in the Constitution would never vote in favor of this Act because this act strips away the checks-and-balances put in place by our Founding Fathers to protect us from despotic presidents. So, we can only conclude that the Tea Party Caucus was either misguided or uneducated AND decided it is up to American citizens to guide them through prayerful education. This Presidential Efficiency Appointment Act allows any current or future President to appoint people to high-ranking cabinet positions without the advice and consent of the Senate.

For example, Jon Corzine, the former head of MF Global who "lost" $1.2 billion in customers' segregated trust funds, could be named the Treasurer of the United States by Mr. Obama. Chapo Guzman, the butcher who runs the Sinaloa drug cartel could be selected to run Counter-Narcotics Enforcement at the Department of Justice - How is this any different than Fast & Furious? Roman Polanski, the convicted Hollywood director, could be put in charge of the Office of Juvenile Justice.

It’s been said by the Democrats that Mitt Romney is a murderer, felon, and tax cheat. Democrats have also maintained that Bain Capital is all about making money and destroying the little guy. As it is with Liberals, there are no facts to back up the allegations. People are supposed to believe them because the Democrats say they’re true. Here’s a story about Mitt Romney that’s been fact checked.
 

“In July 1996, the 14-year-old daughter of Robert Gay, a partner at Bain Capital, had disappeared. She had attended a rave party in New York City and gotten high on ecstasy. Three days later, her distraught father had no idea where she was. Romney took immediate action. He closed down the entire firm and asked all 30 partners and employees to fly to New York to help find Gay’s daughter. Romney set up a command center at the LaGuardia Marriott and hired a private detective firm to assist with the search.

“He established a toll-free number for tips, coordinating the effort with the NYPD, and went through his Rolodex and called everyone Bain did business with in New York, and asked them to help find his friend’s missing daughter. Romney’s accountants at Price Waterhouse Cooper put up posters on street poles, while cashiers at a pharmacy owned by Bain put fliers in the bag of every shopper. Romney and the other Bain employees scoured every part of New York and talked with everyone they could – prostitutes, drug addicts – anyone.

GO, MICHIGAN STATE !  Very interesting -- the University is standing by their professor and not bowing down to special interest groups! Professor Wichman E-mail  A Michigan professor sent an e-mail telling Muslim students to leave the country. The story begins at Michigan State University with a mechanical engineering professor named Indrek Wichman.  Wichman sent an e-mail to the Muslim Student's Association.  The e-mail was in response to the students' protest of the Danish cartoons that portrayed the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist.  The group had complained the cartoons were 'hate speech.'  ============  Enter Professor Wichman.  ==========================================  In his e-mail, he said the following:  ===============================  Dear Muslim Association,  As a professor of Mechanical Engineering here at MSU I intend to protest your protest.  I am offended not by cartoons, but by more mundane things like beheadings of civilians, cowardly attacks on public buildings, suicide murders, murders of Catholic priests (the latest in Turkey), burnings of Christian churches, the continued persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt, the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims, the rapes of Scandinavian girls and women (called 'whores' in your culture), the murder of film directors in Holland, and the rioting and looting in Paris France.  This is what offends me, a soft-spoken person and academic, and many, many of my colleagues. I counsel you dissatisfied, aggressive, brutal, and uncivilized slave-trading Muslims to be very aware of this as you proceed with your infantile 'protests.'  If you do not like the values of the West - see the First Amendment - you are free to leave.
