HB 2148 & SB 6359 - Concerning health plan coverage for the voluntary termination of a pregnancy.
Summary: Would force health plans that cover maturity care to also " provide coverage for the voluntary termination of a pregnancy".
Status HB 2148: Executive action was taken by the House Committee on Health Care and Wellness to pass HB 2148; thereby qualifying it for a full floor vote at any time.
Status SB 6359: Introduced in the Senate and assigned to the Senate Health Care committee. There is no public hearing scheduled at this time.

HB 2133 - Maintaining privacy of student educational records.
Summary: Would require a Joint Legislative Audit & Review Committee (JLARC) to conduct a detailed analysis of documents and agreements by the OSPI, the OFM, and school districts related to collection, sharing, storage, security, dissemination, and access to personally identifiable student data or student-level data.
Status: House Committee on Education will go into executive session on HB 2133, on Wednesday, January 29, 2014.

HB 1506 - Concerning Third-Party Visitation
Summary: Would allow a third party (non-relative) to petition the court for visitation of a child. This bill would enact a new section in Washington law that would allow any person to petition a court for visitation rights with a child if they have "established an ongoing and substantial relationship with the child." The bill is not limited to grandparents/relatives but is open to non relatives.
