10 Commandments in court
*THE TEN COMMANDMENTS AND THE COURTS *
Is it reasonable that courts have become more and more hostile to
posting the Ten Commandments in courthouses across the country?
Even though it is universally agreed that the Ten Commandments are the
primary foundation of public law…and even though these basic
principles of law are emblazoned on the Supreme Court Building itself,
secular authorities are fanatical about removing any reference to our
Judeo-Christian heritage from public view.
The most rational response I’ve heard defending the courts’
hostility came from that noted legal scholar, Larry the cable guy. He
put his finger directly on the problem when he said, “The reason we
can’t have the 10 commandments posted in the courthouse is that you
can’t post ‘Thou shalt not steal’ or ‘Thou shalt not commit
adultery’ or ‘Thou shalt not bear false witness’ in a building
full of lawyers, judges and politicians…that creates a hostile
working environment.”
