If YOU want to help protect your country from this kind of stuff, here is a sample letter that you can send to your two Senators ASAP.
Dear Senator ________ :
I am writing to tell
you that I am disappointed that the Senate is rushing to pass an immigration
bill before the American people have had a chance to understand the true cost
of this proposed amnesty bill. It will
be in the multi-trillions of dollars.
When Congress was
debating Obamacare three years ago, you promised that Obamacare programs and
subsidies would not be available to illegal immigrants. You knew that the American public would be
even more opposed to the health care overhaul law if Obamacare were available
to people who came to this country illegally.
Public opinion on that matter has not changed.
The Senate needs to
slow down. When millions of new people
are added to the health care system through the proposed amnesty bill, how will
that affect the cost of Obamacare? How
will that affect the number of people on Medicaid? What will the impact be on the state
exchanges? These are the important questions
that need to be addressed, but in the Senate's haste to pass this bill, we have
not been able to have this discussion.
I ask that you begin to represent me on the
Senate floor by asking the above questions about the fiscal impact of the Senate
immigration bill and how it will affect Obamacare. It
this bill passes, we must rescind Obamacare.
We cannot have both.
The 2010 elections proved that voters do
hold elected officials accountable, especially when they pass a sweeping piece
of legislation like Obamacare without bothering to study it. Next year's elections will be another
opportunity for us to voice our objections about the undemocratic process the
Senate is using to pass its immigration bill.
Sincerely,
Your Name
