Memorial Day

In honor of Memorial Day, I hope you will take a moment to read about the sacrifice made by Airman First Class Pittsenbarger:
____________________________________________________________________________________On 11 April 1966, near Cam My, Republic of Vietnam, while assigned as a Pararescue Crew Member, Detachment 6, 38th Aerospace Rescue and Recover Squadron, Airman Pitsenbarger was aboard a rescue helicopter responding to a call for evacuation of casualties incurred in an on-going firefight between elements of the United States Army’s 1st Infantry Division and a sizable enemy force approximately 35 miles east of Saigon.

With complete disregard for personal safety, Airman Pitsenbarger volunteered to ride a hoist more than one hundred feet through the jungle, to the ground. On the ground, he organized and coordinated rescue efforts, cared for the wounded, prepared casualties for evacuation, and insured that the recovery operation continued in a smooth and orderly fashion. Through his personal efforts, the evacuation of the wounded was greatly expedited.

As each of the nine casualties evacuated that day were recovered, Pitsenbarger refused evacuation in order to get one more wounded soldier to safety. After several pick-ups, one of the two rescue helicopters involved in the evacuation was struck by heavy enemy ground fire and was forced to leave the scene for an emergency landing.

Airman Pitsenbarger stayed behind, on the ground, to perform medical duties. Shortly thereafter, the area came under sniper and mortar fire. During a subsequent attempt to evacuate the site, American forces came under heavy assault by a large Viet Cong force.

When the enemy launched the assault, the evacuation was called off and Airman Pitsenbarger took up arms with the besieged infantrymen. He courageously resisted the enemy, braving intense gunfire to gather and distribute vital ammunition to American defenders. As the battle raged on, he repeatedly exposed himself to enemy fire to care for the wounded, pull them out of the line of fire, and return fire whenever he could, during which time, he was wounded three times.

Despite his wounds, he valiantly fought on, simultaneously treating as many wounded as possible. In the vicious fighting which followed, the American forces suffered 80 percent casualties as their perimeter was breached, and Airman Pitsenbarger was finally fatally wounded. Airman Pitsenbarger exposed himself to almost certain death by staying on the ground, and perished while saving the lives of wounded infantrymen.

I'm home now from my trip to the Bible Conference in Ontario, California. The Theme of the conference was "The Incarnation" I Tim. 3:16. It was wonderful. I preached twice. First on "The Person of the Incarnation" and next on "The Prophesy of the Incarnation".

A painting contractor starts work tomorrow on our house and I take Marion in for a MRI in regard to the pain in her pelvis and hip area from a fall that she took. Pray for her.

A Sunday School teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible; Psalm 23.

She gave the youngsters a month to learn the verse.

Little Bobby was excited about the task. But, he just couldn't remember the Psalm.

After much practice, he could barely get past the first line.

On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Bobby was so nervous.

When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly,

"The Lord is my shepherd and that's all I need to know "

Greetings from TLBC in Tacoma, Washington. This is our Newsletter and Quarterly Report for the 1st quarter of 2007. The outlines of Pastor’s most recent sermons are on the front page of our church website. We finished our series on the Sermon on the Mount and have been preaching evangelical sermons.

We began 2007 with a grand meeting in January to celebrate the 27th anniversary of our church. It was a wonderful time with sermons from Elder Garner Smith of Clarksville Tennessee. It was great to fellowship with sister Augusta too.

Our church attendance still needs improvement. Be in prayer. We have started to canvas the neighborhood around the meeting place. God is faithful to send visitors. Our membership is aging and becoming frail in regard to physical health. The younger members are not as faithful as the older ones however. Is this a sign of the end times? We are also saddened by news that brethren in formerly sound churches are departing from the old landmarks of the faith. Pastor is planning to attend the Memorial Day Bible Conference in Ontario, California where Elder George Kelley is Pastor. The church there remains faithful to the truth.

Both of our Missionaries, brother Cresencio Baldemor in the Philippines and brother Bob Ellis in Ireland are doing well and we continue to receive good reports from them about the mission work in those places. Brother Baldemor has a building program going at the Lawa-an Mission work in the Northwestern part of Mindanao. Brother Ellis is planning to come home on furlough some time this summer with his wife Dee and their daughter Leta. We also prayerfully support missions in Mexico, Honduras, Romania, Papua New Guinea, and Australia. We enjoy reading the reports from the brethren in these places and praying for them in our mid-week prayer meeting service.

Pastor retired from his secular job last summer and so far it has been a wonderful first year of retirement. He helps supplement his retirement with a small home business. The freedom is very enjoyable. Pastor’s mother is doing much better now health wise. He sold her car and mobile home for her and helped her get moved into a new SHAG apartment this quarter. Pray for us that we would be found faithful. Surely the coming of the Lord is drawing near.

Home Again.

Marion and I had a GREAT time on our two week vacation in Kauai. I missed the Bible Conference in Mt. Morris, Michigan this year but am geared up for the Memorial Day Conference in Ontario, California the end of this month. We also learned that the So. Park Missionary Baptist Church in Seattle is planning a Labor Day Conference. I'll attend that one too, Lord Willing.

When we checked our mail at the Post Office we had two tubs. It was nice to see the checks there from some of my online biz efforts. I really LIKE coming home from vacation and having checks to cash. This is what helped me retire from my secular job. This is also the first time I have ever returned from vacation and did not have to report to work. What a thrill! Greetings from the Garden Isle.

It has been a while since my last log in. Marion and I have been on vacation in Kauai with my sister Dea and her husband Wally since April 19th.

Brother Jim Turner stood in for me at TLBC while we were gone. My sister Debby checked in on Mom for us. Mom broke her tooth and wound up having to go in for emergency treatment for it. All is well now.

We fly to Oahu tomorrow night from here on Kauai and then on to SeaTac. We should get in around 5:35 AM Friday. Looking forward to being back in church again on Sunday. We had Bible studies here at the Condo because we did not know of any good Sovereign Grace Landmark Baptist churches in this neighborhood.

I checked my email from time to time ande cleared the"junk". New prospects and customers are logging in to my sites and I'm sure there will be some checks at the Post Office when we get home. We had the mail carrier hold our mail for us until we get home.

Walk the Walk

Easter Sunday 2007

Geetings in our Savior's precious name. We had good sevices today at TLBC. I had liberty in my preaching. My sermon was on "What Is Today?" You may see it on our church website. http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com

Mom wasn't feeling spunky enough to be in church today. She will be 84 this month. We got her all moved into her new SHAG apartment now and she is liking it more and more each day. I'm thankful to report that we also sold her old mobile home yesterday. That was a blessing.

The Russell family were absent today also due to animal issues down in the goat barn. We called them when we got home and they have two new kids now. All the other "regulars" were there plus we had a family visiting from Naples Idaho.

A Fairly Normal Day

We had a sweet season of prayer last night at TLBC. Two marvelous answers to prayer. Wayne Turner has been diagnosed as cured from hepatitus C. (according to medical experts, that just does not happen) Another "that does not happen" is eye damage from diabetes being corrected. Well, thanks to our gracious God, it DID happen for George Kelley. Amen. PTL!

Retirement is great.... I woke up this morning around 7:30. Came down stairs and fixed Marion and me our Body Balance. Marion was playing Spider Solitar. I put on some Slak Key Guitar music from Hawaii and relaxed a while. Around 8:30 I made breakfast for us. Ham and cheeze omlet with rye toast, salsa, and pineapple orange juice.

Around 10:00 we went to the Dollar Store and got some vacuum bags for Mom's Hoover. Then we went over to her old home and checked the mail and disassembled the day bed and brought it back and stowed it in the garage. We stopped off at Fred Meyers to check on something and found a nice little table that would work well in Mom's new home. Well, when we got to Mom's we discovered that the table (assembly required) was missing some parts. We took it back to Fred's but there were no other units in stock so we just got our money back. We came back home and had BLTs on toast for lunch. I called Mom to let her know the table deal fell through.

One of the potential buyers for Mom's old home called to see if there was any news back from the background check required by the Moblile Home Park. (We have a couple of folks who have applied for the screening to stay in the park) I called Miranda the Park Manager. She told me there may be a problem with the first one who applied because it had not come back and it usually would be back by now if there was not a problem. I told them that the second applicant was actually the one we preferred to sell the home to because they made us a better offer than the first. Miranda said she would call the screening company for the second applicant and see if they can hurry it up any. It would be great if we could get this deal all closed out and settled by this weekend.

Then Marion and I went over to Lowes and got some lumber to build a small deck for our back door. I had a 10.00 gift card that I won when I bought the for sale sign (3.00) for Mom's old home. It is a beautiful day today and tomorrow is going to be nice too. We've decided to relax the rest of the day. We'll set on the porch swing around sunset and probably watch one of our Netflix movies later. Two more weeks until our two week trip to Kauai. Alo-HA!

April Fool

We spent all day yesterday moving Mom from her old Mobile Home to her new SHAG Apartment. I think she is really going to like it once she gets settled in. We have a sale pending on her Mobile Home and a couple of guys in the wings who are interested if the sale falls through. The apartment is smaller than her Mobile Home was so again we have some more additions to the "stuff" piling up in our basement. One of these days we are going to have to do something about clearing out our "free storeage" for the family.

Actually, I was busy pretty much all last week boxing up stuff for the move and showing the trailer to prospective buyers. I haven't had much time to do anything with my online income streams but REALLY that is the beauty of it all. Once it is set up, you can work it or not work it and there is usually some sort of check that comes in anyway. Sweet.

Story of Elijah

STORY OF ELIJAH

The Sunday school teacher was carefully explaining
the story of Elijah the Prophet and the false prophets
of Baal. She explained how Elijah built the altar,
put wood upon it, cut the steer in pieces, and laid
it upon the altar. And then, Elijah commanded the
people of God to fill four barrels of water and pour
it over the altar. He had them do this four times.

"Now," said the teacher, "can anyone in the class
tell me why the Lord would have Elijah pour water over
the steer on the altar?" A little girl in the back of
the room started waving her hand, "I know, I know,"
she said, "to make the gravy!"

Graphic Sunday School

A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the
story of the Good Samaritan, in which a man was
beaten, robbed and left for dead. She described the
situation in vivid detail so her students would catch
the drama.

Then, she asked the class, "If you saw a person lying
on the roadside, all wounded and bleeding, what would
you do?"

A thoughtful little girl broke the hushed silence,
"I think I'd throw up."

When we talked to Mom this morning about picking
her up for church we learned that she was having some
medical problems. Marion went over and took her down
to the ER at Tacoma General. I went on to church.

Marion's SS class stayed out with us big kids. My Sermon

After church I went over and checked on mom's place and then
went down to TG. We finally got home tonight around 8PM. All
is well. Mom was diagnosed with having a fainting spell but none

My sister Deanna had surgery this week and we are happy to report that the cancer was localized and they were able to remove it all. It was scarey there for a while but she is home now and recovering nicely. PTL!

Super Bowl Sunday

Here we are again. This year it started off with a BANG when the Bears ran the opening kickoff all the way back for a touchdown. I'll go down to the TV room in a minute and watch the rest of the game but first I just wanted to update my blog for the day.

Well attendance was back down to normal today after the packed house that we had last Lord's Day when Elder Garner Smith (pictured on the left next to me) was here from Faith Baptist Church in Clarksville, Tennessee to cap out our week long meeting in celebration of the 27th anniversary of TLBC.

It was good to have a visitor from the neighborhood in our afternoon services today. This was the FIRST fruit we have seen from our door to door work around the new meeting place. Pray that God would be pleased to send us more and give us grace to go out more with our gospel tracts. This is our Newsletter and Quarterly Report for the 4th quarter of 2006. We finished studying the Sermon on the Mount. See our church website for the outlines of the latest sermons preached on Sunday mornings. In our afternoon services we have moved from studying about various Old Testament Bible characters to things in the New Testament.

Pastor traveled to Carmichael, California in October for the Bible Conference at Carmichael Baptist Church and had a wonderful time of fellowship with the brethren there. After the conference their pastor Elder Bill Brown, had some chest pains and had to have some stints put in. We are glad he is doing better now.

Sister Marion and I are doing OK health wise. Thank you to those who prayed for our grandson AJ Buffaloe. He is doing better now too. The latest test showed his brainwaves in the normal range. His balance seems to be improving. Sister Turner is better too.

Our church attendance needs improvement. We discontinued our mailing ministry to newcomers in the community because of no response. We started to canvas the neighborhood around the meeting place using several different gospel tracts we ordered from Wilbert Ellis in Florence, Kentucky. We’ve had a few visitors but not from the folks we visited. People here have very little concern about spiritual truth from the Bible. They are more interested in doing their own thing. A recent article in the Tacoma News Tribune told of some “church” groups that are growing because they rent movie theaters and let the people bring their Mochas and Lattes into the service while they play drums and guitar music for them with repetitive “worship” lyrics. One fellow was quoted as saying that he enjoyed it because he never felt lost in any of the services.

The weather has been rather cantankerous lately. First we had floods, then high winds, then freezing conditions and snow. There have been many power outages and some loss of lives. All in all we have faired well here at the Killion home. We are on a hill and I have a 5KW generator for spare power. We are hoping for a break, weather wise, the last week in January when Brother Garner Smith, Pastor or the Fellowship Baptist Church in Clarksville, Tennessee is coming out here for a weeks meeting. Pray for REVIVAL.

Our two Missionaries are doing well and we receive good reports from them about the mission work. It is an honor to be co-laborers with great men of God like Elder Cresencio Baldemor in Mindanao and Elder Robert Ellis in Ireland. We started sending financial support to five other Missionaries again. They are: Curtis Pugh in Romania, Ted Tweet in Honduras, Frank James in New Guinea, Jeff Lawrence in Australia, and Burt Craft in Mexico. Thank God for biblical ministries like these. Pray for us. AMEN.

The Same Old Story

It was warm and cozy in our services today at TLBC. We got our furnace fixed and it is working fine now. There was a good spirit there too and I only wish that there were more in attendance than what we had. I preached on "The Same Old Story." See our church website here: TLBC

Happy New Year

Best wishes for YOU in the new year. We had our last service for 2006 today. The fellowship was warm but the building was cold. Our heating system was not working properly. We shortened up the services and did not have an afternoon service. We will have the gas company service the funace for us and get it back in proper operating condition.

I preached on "The Gospel" and everyone seemed to enjoy it in spite of the uncomfortable temperature in our auditorium. I have deleted all the other sermon outlines on our church website and will start fresh with todays message. This will help the page to load faster. If you want to see the outline of any of the sermons mentioned in earlier blog posts just send me a note and I'll get a copy out of archives for you.

This evening we will go down to the Family Shelter and have a wedding for a couple that has been visiting our services lately. Pray for Dennis and Tina as they are joined in holy matrimony. Then Marion and I plan on coming home to hunker down for the evening. We will probably stay up and watch the fireworks at the Spaceneedle on TV.

Sister Turner is still waiting for the report from the neural surgeon on the EEG they did last week but she seems to be doing OK. Our grandson AJ had a "normal" reading on his EEG. Pray for Elder Tim Crawford who was scheduled for open heart surgery yesterday down in Eugenem Oregon. If Jesus doesn't come back before midnight tonight, we hope 2007 will be the year of the RAPTURE. Lord bless.

God blessed our services today again at TLBC. Our daughter Cindi was there with the children. AJ is doing much better. A recent EEG showed him in the "normal" range. We thank the Lord for this and consider it a wonderful answer to prayer.

We had a scare this week with sister Diana Turner. Things are better now but she will have an EEG this Tuesday and we are praying for her about this. Brother Turner brought a good lesson in Sunday School today on "The Day That Jesus Was Born." It is not what most people think.

A Shelter In The Time Of Storm

Our first song before Sunday School today (12-17-06) at church was "A Shelter In The Time Of Storm" and it seemed very appropriate. We have been through an auful lot "weather-wize" lately here in the Great Northwest. We were fairly fortunate here at the Killion home. We were only without power for about 12 or 13 hours and we had a 5000KW generator to help tide us over. Others are still without power. Spiritually speaking it is Christ and Him alone who can save you from sin and the storms of life. I hope you know HIM.

It was good to have three first time visitors in our services today. I preached on "Giving".

AJ went to the doctor again today. Some of you have been praying for him about the "brain malformation" that I mentioned in the TLBC 3rd Q Report.

Some of us have noticed that there are times when AJ seems to space out like he is daydreaming and it is hard to get his attention. It turns out that these incidents are small seizures. It is not epilepsy. It is related to the malformation in his brain. Again, this is a thing that is fixable by surgery. The problem is that this type of surgery is done while the patient is awake and the doctor can do the procedures needed based upon the reaction he gets from the patient. AJ is too young at this point for the doctor to be able to understand clearly from the information he gets from the patient during the surgery just exactly what is needed to do the procedure precisely as needed.

So for now they are giving us a DVD with instructions on how to care for AJ in seizure type scenarios. They will also be fitting him with some headgear that will prevent any trauma to the head in case of falling or an accident of some kind. In time they will go ahead and do the surgery that is needed but not for now. Thanks again for thinking of us and this dear little one in your prayers.

A Can of Worms

A minister decided that a visual demonstration
would add emphasis to his Sunday sermon.

Four worms were placed into four separate jars.



The first worm was put
into a container of alcohol.
The second worm was put
into a container of cigarette smoke.
The third worm was put into
a container of chocolate syrup.
The fourth worm was put into
a container of good clean soil.


At the conclusion of the sermon,
the Minister reported the following results:




The first worm in alcohol -
Dead.

The second worm in cigarette smoke -
Dead .

Third worm in chocolate syrup -
Dead .

Fourth worm in good clean soil -
Alive.

So the Minister asked the congregation -
What can you learn from this demonstration?

Maxine was setting in the back,
quickly raised her hand and said,



"As long as you drink,
smoke and eat chocolate,
you won't have worms!"

Today our attendance was really DOWN in church but it was good to be there and to simply worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth. Golden Rule

Thanks for stopping by for a peek at my Blog today.

It was good to see one of my daughters in church today with the children.
I preached this morning on "The Golden Rule." Read the outline for the sermon on our church web site HERE .

Make sure you vote this week. Marion and I already sent in our ballots by mail. Sometimes it is hard to know what to do with some of the choices they give you now a days on the ballots. Personally, I am for the old fashion standards of the right to LIFE, one man and one woman in marriage, Social Security for US Citizens only and make all Congressmen and Senators be in the program rather than giving them full pay for retirement instead of SS, (maybe then they'd be more concerned about keeping it straight for those who paid into it all their life) cut taxes, balance the budget, be less dependent on foreign products like oil, punish evil doers justly, freedom to practice biblical standards of morality even in school or on government property, etc, etc. etc. Pardon me for being a little opinionated today but I figure I better take advantage of the freedom to speak out like this while we still have that freedom. And, you didn't have to press ONE to continue in English. For those who come into this country and will not learn English, well as far as I am concerned, They can press ONE and go back where they came from. That is what I would do if I were them. Just trying to practice the Golden Rule here,- hee, hee, hee.

Marion and I had a good trip over the mountains yesterday to visit with sister Deuchle in Yakima. Looking forward to prayer meeting tonight at TLBC. My pastor when I was a Bible Student at CBC in the mid 70's, Elder Elton Wilson, is in the hospital in Clarksville, TN and not expected to live according to the doctors.

Greetings from TLBC in Tacoma, Washington. This is our Newsletter and Quarterly Report for the 3rd quarter of 2006. We continue to study the Sermon on the Mount on Sunday mornings and Pastor’s outlines are on the front page of our church web site. In our afternoon services we are studying about various Old Testament Bible characters.

Pastor traveled to Troy, Michigan in September for the Bible Conference at Covenant Baptist Church and had a wonderful time of fellowship with the brethren there. Shortly after the conference the pastor there, Elder Bill Senich, had some serious health issues and we are praying for him. Our Missionary to Ireland, Elder Bob Ellis, preached in the Labor Day Bible Conference in North Carolina where brother Gene Kiger ministers to the Grace Baptist Church and was very well received by the brethren there.

Sister Marion had some health problems this quarter but is doing better now. Thank you to those of you who prayed for her. Please pray for our grandson AJ Buffaloe. They are scheduling an appointment with a neurologist regarding a swollen tonsil in the back of his brain. It is called Arnold Chiuri Malformation Type I.

Our church attendance is not what it could be. We continue our mailing ministry to newcomers in the community with no response to this effort. We started to canvas the neighborhood around the new meeting place. We ordered and received several different gospel tracts from Elder Wilbert Ellis in Florence, Kentucky and are using them.

Pastor is enjoying being retired from his secular job. It is great to be able to have the flexibility now that we did not have when required to meet an employers schedule. For example, our 5th Sunday trips over to Yakima can now be done on a weekday if it is more convenient. Sister Marion enjoys my help on routine shopping trips and we like to take off now and then just to go to the ocean or the mountains for a day trip. Nice! I started to gain some weight so we are walking about two miles per day now for exercise.

Brother Cresencio Baldemor in the Philippines is also doing well and we continue to receive good reports from him about the mission work there. It is an honor to be co-laborers with great men of God like Elder Baldemor and Elder Ellis.

We received a generous love offering from a Friend in Kentucky. This dear brother has been a faithful help to us over the years and has been used of the Lord in our life and ministry more than he may know. Pray also for Direct missions in Canada, Mexico, Honduras, Guyana, Brazil, Peru, Romania, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, India and Australia. AMEN.

The Divine Challenge

We always have good services at TLBC it seems even if there are only a few of us there. I continued my study of the Greatest Sermon Ever Preached this morning. Sermon outline is on our church web site. Click here

The trip to Carmichael California went well also and I had liberty when I preached at the Bible Conference there last Thursday. Here is my sermon outline for the message at the conference.



The Divine Challenge
Jer. 6:16 (Pray)

We live in a day when it is easy to be discouraged. But most of us have to admit that God has been very gracious to us. The old prophet Jeremiah lived in very trying days too. Our text was a great challenge in that day and I believe we should take it to heart in our day also. Let us think today about the Divine challenge God gives us in this passage.

I. It is God’s Challenge.
1. Thus saith the Lord. 2Tim 3:16.
2. Nothing could be more important than to obey the word of God.

II. The Challenge is to do What?
1. STAND. 2Tim 4:1-8.
2. There is a great need today for church members who will be faithful.
3. Eph 6:11-17.

III. Where are we to do this Divine Challenge?
1. In the ways. What does that mean? Consider 3 examples.
A. The Way of Salvation. Jn 14:1-6. 8:23-27, 3:14-17.
B. The Way of Baptism. Jn 3:22-36.
C. The Way of Service in a true Church. Matt 16:18, Acts 2:47,
Acts 11:19-26,Acts 13:1-4, Acts 14:23-28, Acts 20:17-28.

IV. What are the results of Standing in the Ways?
1. You will SEE.
A. The unsaved cannot see spiritual things. 1Cor 2:14, Jn 3:3.
B. The unbaptised will also not see certain truth. Acts 22:4-18.
C. The unchurched are blind concerning the pillar and ground of
the truth. 1Tim 3:15.

V. How are we to Stand in the Ways?
1. By asking for the old paths. Prov 23:10.
A. The old paths is the good way. 1Kings 8:36.
B. We are to walk therein. Rom 6:4, Rom 8:1-4.
C. Ye shall find rest for your soul. Isa 40:28-31.

Conclusion: Many today are like those in Jeremiah’s day. You can tell them the truth with earnest sincerity and they will turn from it and refuse to walk according to “thus saith the Lord.” By the grace of God we will continue to rejoice around the things of the Lord and refuse to remove the old landmarks. Remember, the Divine Challenge in our text also comes with a Divine Promise of rest for your soul. God cannot lie and He cannot break a promise. AMEN.

Marion and I had a good time on our trip to Leavenworth earlier in the week when we celebrated our 41st Anniversary. It was great but I gained about 13 pounds from the German food I ate on the trip. I'll have to watch my portions more at the conference in California this week.

A MUST read for all Americans

No matter if you are for, or against the war in Iraq. No matter if you are
a liberal or a conservative. No matter if you are a Democrat or a
Republican. No matter if you are an atheist, Christian or a Jew. This is
a MUST read if you love the freedom to be any of the above.

This is the most cogent and powerful essay on the threat of Islamic
terrorism I have seen. It is by Dr. Vernon Chong and is
without a doubt the most articulate and convincing writing I have read
regarding the War in Iraq .

If you have any doubts please open your mind to his essay
and give a fair evaluation. It's also eerily applicable to other current
issues (Iran 's nuclear program, immigration, NAFTA's impact on
Americanjobs, trade deficits, etc.). I had no idea who Dr. Chong is, or
the source of these thoughts... so when I received them, I almost deleted
them - as well-written as they are. But then I did a "Google search" on the
Doctor and found him to be a retired Air Force Surgeon of all things and
past Commander of Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio. So
he is real, is connected to Veterans affairs in California, and these are his
thoughts. They are worth reading and thinking about!

Subject: Muslims, and the USA : A different spin on Iraq war.

This WAR is for REAL!

Dr. Vernon Chong, Major General, USAF, Retired.

To get out of a difficulty, one usually must go through it.

Our country is now facing the most serious threat to its existence, as we
know it, that we have faced in your lifetime and mine (which includes WWII).

The deadly seriousness is greatly compounded by the fact that
there are very few of us who think we can possibly lose this war and even
fewer who realize what losing really means.

First, let's examine a few basics:

1. When did the threat to us start?

Many will say September 11, 2001.

The answer as far as the United States is concerned is 1979,
22 years prior to September 2001, with the following attacks on us:

Iran Embassy Hostages, 1979;

Beirut , Lebanon Embassy 1983;

Beirut , Lebanon Marine Barracks 1983;

Lockerbie , Scotland Pan-Am flight to New York 1988;

First New York World Trade Center attack 1993;

Dhahran , Saudi Arabia Khobar Towers Military complex 1996;

Nairobi , Kenya US Embassy 1998;

Dares Salaam , Tanzania US Embassy 1998;

Aden , Yemen USS Cole 2000;

New York World Trade Center 2001;

Pentagon 2001.

(Note that during the period from 1981 to 2001 there were 7,581 terrorist
attacks worldwide).


2. Why were we attacked?

Envy of our position, our success, and our freedoms.

The attacks happened during the administrations of Presidents Carter, Reagan, Bush1, Clinton and Bush 2. We cannot fault either the Republicans or
Democrats as there were no provocations by any of the presidents or their
immediate predecessor, President Ford.

3. Who were the attackers?

In each case, the attacks on the US were carried out by Muslims.

4. What is the Muslim population of the World? 25%.

5. Isn't the Muslim Religion peaceful?

Hopefully, but that is really not material. There is no doubt that the
predominately Christian population of Germany was peaceful, but under the
dictatorial leadership of Hitler (who was also Chris tian), that made no
difference. You either went along with the administration
or you were eliminated. There were 5 to 6 million Christians killed by the
Nazis for political reasons (including 7,000 Polish priests).

Thus, almost the same number of Christians were killed by the Nazis, as the
six million holocaust Jews who were killed by them, and we seldom heard of
anything other than the Jewish atrocities. Although Hitler kept the world
focused on the Jews, he had no hesitancy about killing anyone who got in his
way of exterminating the Jews or of taking over the world - German, Christian or any others.

Same with the Muslim terrorists. They focus the world on the US, but kill
all in the way -- their own people or the Spanish, French or anyone else.
The point here is that just like the peaceful Germans were no protection to
anyone from the Nazis, no matter how many peaceful Muslims there may be, they
are no protection for us from the terrorist Muslim leaders and what they are fanatically bent on doing -- by their own pronouncements -- killing all of us "infidels." I don't blame the peaceful Muslims. What would you do if the choice was shut up or die?

6. So who are we at war with?

There is no way we can honestly respond that it is anyone other than the
Muslim terrorists. Trying to be politically correct and avoid verbalizing
this conclusion can well be fatal. There is no way to win if
you don't clearly recognize and articulate who you are fighting.

So with that background, now to the two major questions:

1. Can we lose this war?

2. What does losing really mean?

If we are to win, we must clearly answer these two pivotal
questions:

We can definitely lose this war, and as anomalous as it may sound, the major
reason we can lose is that so many of us simply do not fathom the answer to
the second question - What does losing mean?

It would appear that a great many of us think that losing the war means
hanging our heads, bringing the troops home and going on about our business,
like post-Vietnam. This is as far from the truth as one can get.

What losing really means is:

We would no longer be the premier country in the world. The attacks will not
subside, but rather will steadily increase.

Remember, they want us dead, not just quiet. If they had just wanted us
quiet, they would not have produced an increasing series of attacks against us,
over the past 18 years. The plan was, clearly, for terrorists to attack us
until we were neutered and submissive to them.

We would, of course, have no future support from other nations, for fear
of reprisals and for the reason that they would see; we are impotent and cannot
help them.

They will pick off the other non-Muslim nations, one at a time. It will be
increasingly easier for them. They already hold Spain hostage. It doesn't
matter whether it was right or wrong for Spain to withdraw its troops from Iraq . Spain did it because the Muslim terrorists bombed their train and told them to withdraw the troops.

Anything else they want Spain to do will be done. Spain is finished.

The next will probably be France. Our one hope on France is that they might
see the light and realize that if we don't win, they are finished too, in
that they can't resist the Muslim terrorists without us.

However, it may already be too late for France . France is already 20%
Muslim and fading fast!

Without our support Great Britan will go too. recently I read that there
are more mosques in England than churches.

If we lose the war, our production, income, exports and way of life will
all vanish as we know it. After losing, who would trade or deal with us
if they were threatened by the Muslims.

If we can't stop the Muslim terrorists, how could anyone else?

The radical Muslims fully know what is riding on this war, and therefore
are completely committed to winning, at any cost. We better know it too
and be likewise committed to winning at any cost.

Why do I go on at such lengths about the results of losing?

Simple. Until we recognize the costs of losing, we cannot unite and really
put 100% of our thoughts and efforts into winning. And it is going to take
that 100% effort to win.

So, how can we lose the war?

Again, the answer is simple.

We can lose the war by "imploding."
That is, defeating ourselves by refusing to recognize the enemy and their
purpose, and really digging in and lending full support to the war effort.
If we are united, there is no way that we can lose. If we continue to be
divided, there is no way that we can win!


Let me give you a few examples of how we simply don't comprehend the life
and death seriousness of this situation.

President Bush selects Norman Mineta as Secretary of Transportation.
Although all of the terrorist attacks were committed by Muslim men between 17 and 40 years of age, Secretary Mineta refuses to allow profiling. Does that sound like we are taking this thing seriously? This is war!

For the duration, we are going to have to give up some of the civil rights
we have become accustomed to. We had better be prepared to lose some of our
civil rights temporarily or we will most certainly lose all of them permanently.


And don't worry that it is a slippery slope. We gave up plenty of civil
rights during WWII, and immediately restored them after the victory and in
fact added many more since then.

Do I blame President Bush or President Clinton before him?

No, I blame us for blithely assuming we can maintain all of our Political
Correctness, and all of our civil rights during this conflict and have a clean, lawful, honorable war. None of those words apply to war.
Get them out of your head.

Some have gone so far in their criticism of the war and/or the
Administration that it almost seems they would literally like to see us
lose.

I think some actually do, I hasten to add that this isn't because they are
disloyal. It is because they just don't recognize what losing means.
Nevertheless, that conduct gives the impression to the enemy that we are divided
and weakening. It concerns our friends, and it does great damage to our cause.

Of more recent vintage, the uproar fueled by the politicians and media
regarding the treatment of some prisoners of war, perhaps exemplifies best what
I am saying. We have recently had an issue, involving the treatment of a few Muslim prisoners of war, by a small group of our military police. These are the type prisoners who just a few months ago were throwing their own people off buildings, cutting off their hands, cutting out their tongues and otherwise murdering their own
people just for disagreeing with Saddam Hussein.

And just a few years ago these same type prisoners chemically killed 400,000
of their own people for the same reason. They are also the same type of enemy fighters, who recently were burning Americans,and dragging their charred corpses through the streets of Iraq . And still more recently, the same type of enemy that was and is providing videos to all news sources internationally, of the beheading of American prisoners they held.

Compare this with some of our press and politicians, who for several days
have thought and talked about nothing else but the "humiliating" of some
Muslim prisoners -- not burning them, not dragging their charred corpses
through the streets, not beheading them, but "humiliating" them.

Can this be for real?

The politicians and pundits have even talked of impeachment of the
Secretary of Defense. If this doesn't show the complete lack of
comprehension and understanding of the seriousness of the enemy we
are fighting, the life and death struggle we are in and the disastrous
results of losing this war, nothing can.

To bring our country to a virtual political standstill over this prisoner
issue makes us look like Nero playing his fiddle as Rome burned -- totally oblivious to what is going on in the real world. Neither we, nor any other country, can survive this internal strife. Again I say, this does not mean that some of our politicians or media people are disloyal. It simply means that they are absolutely oblivious to the magnitude of the situation we are in and into which the Muslim terrorists have been pushing us, for many years.

These people are a serious and dangerous liability to the war effort. We
must take note of who they are and get them out of office.

Remember, the Muslim terrorists stated goal is to kill all infidels! That
translates into ALL non-Muslims -- not just in the United States, but
throughout the world. We are the last bastion of defense.

We have been criticized for many years as being 'arrogant.' That charge is
valid in at least one respect. We are arrogant in that we believe that we
are so good, powerful and smart, that we can win the hearts and minds of all
those who attack us, and that with both hands tied behind our back, we can
defeat anything bad in the world! We can't!

If we don't recognize this, our nation as we know it will not survive, and
no other free country in the world will survive if we are defeated.

And finally, name any Muslim countries throughout the world that allow
freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of religion, freedom of the
press, equal rights for anyone -- let alone everyone, equal status or any status
for women, or that have been productive in one single way that contributes to the good of the world.

This has been a long way of saying that we must be united on this war or we
will be equated in the history books to the self-inflicted fall of the Roman
Empire . If, that is, the Muslim leaders will allow history books to be
written or read.


If we don't win this war right now, keep a close eye on how the Muslims
take over France in the next 5 years or less. They will continue to increase the Muslim population of France and continue to encroach little by little, on the established French traditions. The French will be fighting among themselves, over what should or should not be done, which will continue to weaken them and keep them from any united resolve. Doesn't that sound eerily familiar?

Democracies don't have their freedoms taken away from them by some external
military force. Instead, they give their freedoms away, piece by politically correct piece. And they are giving those freedoms away to those who have shown, worldwide that they abhor freedom and will not apply it to you or even to themselves, once they are in power.

They have universally shown that when they have taken over, they then start
brutally killing each other over who will be the few who control the masses.

What is happening in Iraq is a good example. Will we ever stop hearing
from the politically correct about the "peaceful Muslims"?

I close on a hopeful note, by repeating what I said above. If we are
united, there is no way that we can lose. I hope now, after the election,
the factions in our country will begin to focus on the critical situation we
are in, and will unite to save our country. It is your future we are
talking about! Do whatever you can to preserve it. I reiterate. A
national election is months away.

After reading the above, we all must do this not only for ourselves, but our
children, our grandchildren, our country and the world.
Whether Democrat or Republican, conservative or liberal and that includes the
Politicians and media of our country and the free world!

Please forward this to any you feel may want, or NEED to read it.

Our "leaders" in Congress ought to read it, too. There are those that
find fault with our country, but it is obvious to anyone who truly thinks
through this, that we must UNITE!

Lastly, I wish to add: At the risk of offending someone, I sincerely think
that anyone who rejects this as just another political rant, or doubts the seriousness of this issue or just ignores it without sending it on, is part of the problem. Lets quit laughing at and forwarding the jokes and cartoons which denigrate and ridicule our leaders in this war against terror. They are trying to protect the interests and well being of the US and it's citizens.

Best we support them.

Senich has a grapefruit sized aneurysm in the largest artery leading to the heart from the stomach. The doctor's are waiting clearance from his cardiologist to do surgery, and have already cancelled several of this morning's surgeries to make time in the OR. So, it is quite serious. Steadfast Christianity

My trip to Troy, Michigan was good. Had a wonderful time of fellowship with the brethren there. Listed below is the outline of the sermon I started off the Bible Conference with on Tuesday night.

1Cor. 15:56-58. (Pray)

The God of the Bible is a God of Grace and that is a good thing because we are all miserable failures when it comes to meeting the standards of holiness in the Bible. There is a constant need for preaching on steadfast faithfulness to God. Down through time, man has consistently failed in the area of service for God. Even the best of us have failed at one time or another in living for God as we should. There is example after example of this in the Bible. The Israelites failed in old testament times, the new testament believers all had their shortcomings and those who name the name of Christ today also fall short much of the time. Our text deals with sin, salvation and service. Let us look at these three things in regard to Steadfast Christianity.

I. SIN IS A CONSTANT PROBLEM. V56.
1. It is a problem in the early days.
A. In the early days of holy literature. Gen. 2: 15-17, 3:2.
B. In the early days of human life. Ps. 58:3.
2. It is problem in the middle days.
A. In the middle days of holy literature. Judges 2:16-17.
B. In the middle days of human life. Eccl. 11:9-10.
3. It is a problem in the last days.
A. In the last days of holy literature. 2Tim. 3:1-7, 2Pet. 3:3-7.
B. In the last days of human life. Eccl. 12:1-3, Ps. 71:17-18.

II. SALVATION IS CONSTANTLY PRAISEWORTHY. V57.
1. It is praiseworthy in Old Testament times. Ps. 106: 1-5.
2. It is praiseworthy in New Testament times. Rom. 15: 8-11.
3. It is praiseworthy today. Gal. 1:3-5.

III. SERVICE IS A CONTINUING PROCESS. V58.
1. True believers in the Old Testament were steadfast. Ps. 40: 9-11.
2. True believers in the New Testament were steadfast. Acts. 20: 26-28.
3. True believers today will be steadfast. 1Pet. 3: 14-18.

Conclusion: Examine yourself. Are you truly in the Faith? How do you deal with the sin problem? Do you really know Christ and show a love for Him? Do you plan and purpose your prayer time, Bible study and devotional time. Are you steadfast in witnessing and in the ministries of the local church?
The only remedy for your sin problem is Christ. The only redeemer who really redeems is Christ. The only right way to run the race after trusting Christ as your savior is to follow Him in scriptural baptism and always abound in the work of the Lord in the kind of local church that Christ called MY church. AMEN.

Friday was opening day for the Western Washington Fair at Puyallup (free admission until noon)and we rode the bus (for free). Walked and gaulked as usual. It was a little difficult this year as we have just started "counting calories" recently and had to refrain from the great Fair Food. After we wore ourselves out, we went back to the blue gate and caught the bus back to where we had parked my truck (for free)and went home and made ourselves a nice ham, lettuce, asparagos and avocado wrap with watermelon for desert and relaxed the rest of the day.

Saturday was fairly quiet. Good day again today in church. I preached on "The Pattern for Prayer". See our church website for an outline of the sermon.
