My sermon today was on Christ's Body. See the sermon outline on our church website.

It was a good day in church today but our visitors did not come back. Mom was out sick again but it was good to see my daughter Tammy and the kids in the services.

My aunt Rosa passed away this week in Kansas. Another relative of a former church member also lost his wife this week. She was only 41. Our heart goes out to those that are grieving at this time.

Several have told us that they want to start attending church more faithfully. That is our prayer for them too. Marion continues to improve slowly from her injuries in the fall. We are planning a church pic nic on the forth of July. That will be fun.
5 more things to think about.

1. I don't know why some people change churches; what difference does it make which one you stay home from?
2. A lot of church members who are singing "Standing on the Promises" are just sitting on the premises.
3. We were called to be witnesses, not lawyers or judges
4. Be ye fishers of men. You catch them -- He'll clean them.
5. Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.

Fathers Day

Happy Fathers day to all the Dads out there. None of my kids were in church today. THAT would have made MY day.

My sermon today was sparked by an interview I had with a kid from a local Christian Acadamy. If you were asked "What are the distinctives of your faith?" What would YOU say? See my answer in my sermon outline "One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism."

5 more things to think about.
When you get to your wit's end, you'll find God lives there.

People are funny; they want the front of the bus, the middle of the road, and the back of the church.

Opportunity may knock once, but temptation bangs on your front door forever.

Quit griping about your church; if it was perfect, you couldn't belong.

If the church wants a better pastor, it only needs to pray for the one it has.
How are you doing with marketing your site?
If you have decided to take advantage of thethe SAFELIST market out there, here is something you will want to take a look at.
Like everything else, it may take a little time to get it set up but once you do that it will be worth it in the end.

Revised TLBC Front Page

5 Things to think about today.

1. Don't let your worries get the best of you; remember, Moses started out as a basket case.
2. Some people are kind, polite, and sweet-spirited until you try to sit in their pews.
3. Many folks want to serve God, but only as advisors.
4. It is easier to preach ten sermons than it is to live one.
5. The good Lord didn't create anything without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close.
Marion is doing a little better. I was under the weather late this week but am also doing better. We enjoyed worship services today. See our church website.
I have revised the "Our Baptist Heritage" article to illiminate bogus acussations against us as liars. You will understand if you read down past the BOLD print where I formerly had a disclaimer. Some chose to ignore the disclaimer (see post 3-25-07) so I have done away with the need for it.
NOW is the time to begin making money online.

Afraid of the Dark

A little boy was afraid of the dark. One night his mother told him to go out to the back porch and bring her the broom. The little boy turned to his mother and said, "Mama, I don't want to go out there. It's dark."

The mother smiled reassuringly at her son. "You don't have to be afraid of the dark," she explained. "Jesus is out there. He'll look after you and protect you." The little boy looked at his mother real hard and asked, "Are you sure he's out there?" "Yes, I'm sure. He is everywhere, and he is always ready to help you when you need him," she said.

The little boy thought about that for a minute and then went to the back door and cracked it a little. Peering out into the darkness, he called, "Jesus? If you're out there, would you please hand me the broom?"
2 Pet 1:19-2119 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.(KJV)
We had a good day today again in the Lord's House. It was good to have three first time visitors. My trip to the Bible Conference in Ontario, California was good. My message today in TLBC was one that I preached at the conference. See outline here:

Marion's MRI showed that she not only has a compression fracture in her L1 vertabrae but there is also a hairline crack in her pelvis. Pray for her. With the help of pain medication, a walker and the grace of God, she was able to be in church today. She goes back to the doctor for a follow up in two weeks.
