A Sunday school teacher asked, "Johnny, do you think

Noah did a lot of fishing when he was on the Ark?"

"No," replied Johnny.

"How could he, with just two worms."

for my sermon outline on todays message.

Marion and I went out yesterday to see our granddaughter Kiersten

race her Quad. My, how exciting. I'll try and post a couple of pictures

I took on my cell phone. I have a short video too but am not

technical enough to get it posted yet.

Looking Back

The Sunday School teacher was describing how Lot's
wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt,
when little Johnny interrupted, "My Mummy looked
back once, while she was DRIVING," he announced
triumphantly, "and she turned into a telephone pole!"

I found some old notes about a missionary trip I took
to Russia several years ago and am thinking about
publishing them in book form. More to come on that.

Good services in church today. See sermon outline here:

Attendance was in the mid-teens. If you would like to
see a DVD of any of the sermons mentioned on this BLOG
please let me know. We can do that.

Looking back to my lay off in 2000, I am thankful now
for it all. It was not pleasant at the time but it got me
started with my online home business and NOW I am
retired and no longer under the thumb of "the man."

Story of Elijah

The Sunday school teacher was carefully explaining
the story of Elijah the Prophet and the false prophets
of Baal. She explained how Elijah built the altar,
put wood upon it, cut the steer in pieces, and laid
it upon the altar. And then, Elijah commanded the
people of God to fill four barrels of water and pour
it over the altar. He had them do this four times.

"Now," said the teacher, "can anyone in the class
tell me why the Lord would have Elijah pour water over
the steer on the altar?" A little girl in the back of
the room started waving her hand, "I know, I know,"
she said, "to make the gravy!"
My sermon today was on "Regeneration and Conversion."
The outline is on the front page of our church website.

Mom is doing much better. I sold her old '70 Chevy this

Graphic Sunday School

A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the
story of the Good Samaritan, in which a man was
beaten, robbed and left for dead. She described the
situation in vivid detail so her students would catch
the drama.

Then, she asked the class, "If you saw a person lying
on the roadside, all wounded and bleeding, what would
you do?"

A thoughtful little girl broke the hushed silence,
"I think I'd throw up."

When we talked to Mom this morning about picking
her up for church we learned that she was having some
medical problems. Marion went over and took her down
to the ER at Tacoma General. I went on to church.

Marion's SS class stayed out with us big kids. My Sermon
today was titled "FORSAKEN". Outline can be reviewed
as usual here:

After church I went over and checked on mom's place and then
went down to TG. We finally got home tonight around 8PM. All
is well. Mom was diagnosed with having a fainting spell but none
of the tests indicate any major problem.
