Dr. Carson

See If You Agree With Me... It Sure Sounds Like...

Ben Carson Is Running For President!

Headline from The Weekly Standard...
Ben Carson Moves Toward Presidential Run
It reads in part...
“Ben Carson is warming to the idea of running for president. Since the famous brain surgeon retired last year from Johns Hopkins Hospital, he’s been speaking around the country to enthusiastic audiences. And, they’ve affected his thinking about seeking national office.”
From the very beginning, Dr. Carson has said he will run only if the American people clamor for him to do so, and if he feels that God is calling him to run.
According to a blog post by Fred Barnes at The Weekly Standard, this is what he said about being called to run...
Interviewed this week, Carson said he’s “starting to feel it. Because every place I go it’s unbelievable.” One lady “really touched me the other night ... She just kept clinging to my hand and said, ‘You have to run. You have to run.’ And so many people tell me that, and so I think I’m starting to hear something.”
Clearly, Dr. Ben Carson is hearing the American people calling him to run for President of the United States.
And, just like that lady who “touched” him, you can play a huge role in moving Ben Carson to run for President.
Sign the Petition!
Yes, by putting your name on the petition urging Ben Carson to run for President you will be taking a huge step toward...
  • Nominating a sure winner in 2016
  • Nominating and electing someone who will heal our broken land, and...
  • Nominating and electing a trustworthy conservative
We can’t leave anything to chance. We need to keep encouraging Ben Carson to announce as a candidate for President, and we have to prepare to do battle in the trenches.
Make no mistake about it...
If there is one thing the left cannot tolerate at all, it’s a black man running as a conservative candidate for President of the United States.
Who can forget how they brutalized Herman Cain?
Dr. Carson knows how mean and nasty he and his family will be treated. Here is what he said to Fred Barns...
“It’s a daunting thing... I know how vehemently the left will come after you, try to destroy you, try to destroy your family. But at the same time I recognize that people like Nathan Hale - he said, ‘My only regret is I have but one life to give to my country’ ...And if everybody runs for the hills because they’re afraid that somebody is going to attack them or their family, then [the left] will have won.”
Ben Carson has the courage to run, and the talent needed to win.
That’s not just speculation.
In 2012 Herman Cain found out something shocking.
Cain’s internal polls showed that he was not only winning more than 40% of the black vote, but also more than 60% of the Hispanic vote!
Only 17% Needed!
The fact is that if any Republican candidate for President receives more than 17% of the black vote, no Democrat candidate for President, even Hillary Clinton, can win the White House.
The only explanation for the support that Herman Cain received is that both black and Latino voters identified with his rise from poverty to success.
While Herman Cain is a respected businessman, Dr. Ben Carson is a legend in the African American community.  For many, many years black children have learned the amazing story of Ben Carson’s rise from dire poverty to becoming a world renowned neurosurgeon.
And, virtually every black family has watched the movie, Gifted Hands, starring Cuba Gooding, Jr., that tells the life story of Dr. Ben Carson.
The bottom line is this...
Ben Carson is a Sure Winner in 2016
Not only will Ben Carson win, he’s likely to do it in a landslide.
Ben Carson is the first candidate since Ronald Reagan who has been blessed with communication skills that enable him to explain complicated issues in terms everyone can understand.
Please don’t misunderstand me. This is an uphill battle. Ben Carson is not the choice of the Republican establishment. They want to nominate another insider like John McCain or Mitt Romney. Right now they are betting on Jeb Bush or Chris Christie.
Billionaires Ready to Spend More Than $100 Million...
Perhaps you heard that Sheldon Adelson, the gambling multi-billionaire is sitting in Las Vegas, ready to spend $100 million on behalf of Jeb Bush or Chris Christie.
And, we can’t ignore the fact that far left billionaire, George Soros, is already in Hillary Clinton’s corner.
But, Ben Carson Has a Leg Up!
But, the truth is, we have a leg up on the other Republican contenders and even on Hillary Clinton.
We are already building a grassroots organization in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina and North Carolina.
And, more than 10,000 Americans from coast-to-coast have signed on as volunteers to walk the precincts, make telephone calls, knock on doors, put up signs, and do whatever it takes to elect Ben Carson as the next President of the United States.
We’ve already spend nearly $300,000 on radio ads on the Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh talk radio programs.
We’ve also run electronic billboards in Iowa and in Maryland, near the office of Ben Carson.
And, we have hired three regional directors to focus on the first four delegate selection states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
And, we have paid for a sophisticated software platform that will us to organize at the grassroots and across social media.
We have engineered wins or close finishes in multiple straw polls including...
  • 1st Place in the only Iowa midterm caucus held this past January
  • 1st Place in the Freedom Works online presidential poll
  • 1st Place in the Bill O’Reilly poll of top viewers
  • 3rd place in the CPAC presidential straw poll
  • 3rd place in the Northeast Republican Leadership Conference survey
The Carson for President Bandwagon is Rolling!
Don’t you think it’s time for you to hop on board?
Ben Carson needs your help if he is going to topple the choice of the Republican establishment - Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, or even Mitt Romney (yes, he’s making noises about running again).
Our paid field team and Vernon Robinson, our Campaign Director, is crisscrossing the nation, attending Republican and Tea Party events, signing up volunteers and hunting up delegates.
We have one person on the ground in Iowa, but we need more if we are to win that critical state.
Won’t you please help us nominate and elect Ben Carson in 2016.
Your Early Dollars are Crucial to Success...
It was early money that allowed Barack Obama to pay for the advanced software platform that enabled him to out organize Romney in 2012.
It was early dollars that allowed Obama to put paid staff on the ground in the key swing state of Ohio years before the Romney campaign arrived.
Your early dollars today, spell victory in 2016 for Ben Carson.
Whatever you can send, no matter the amount, is crucial to victory in 2016.
Don’t let the Republican establishment pick the nominee in 2016.
Pick a winner. Pick Ben Carson by joining the Ben Carson team today.

John Philip Sousa IV
National Chairman
P.S. With your help and God’s blessing, we will identify every prospective caucus goer in Iowa, every primary voter in New Hampshire, South Carolina, and North Carolina. In addition, we will be ready for Florida and the seven other primaries held on that date. Please help today. Together we can win!

NDAA amnestry free

This Issue: House approves two pro-enforcement amendments; NDAA to be amnesty-free

On Thursday, the House of Representatives approved two immigration-enforcement amendments to the Commerce, Justice, and Science spending bill. Both amendments were offered by Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) and passed mostly along party-lines with a few Republicans digging in their pro-amnesty, anti-enforcement heels, and a few Democrats, facing tough races in the fall, attempting to show their constituents that they don't stand with the rest of their caucus on the issue.
Rep. King's first amendment would reallocate $5 million to the Justice Department for the sole use of investigating a recent report from the Center for Immigration Studies that found the Administration had released more than 36,000 criminal illegal aliens from custody while awaiting deportation. The amendment passed, 218-to-193, with Democratic Reps. Barber (AZ), Barrow (GA), Lipinski (IL), Peterson (MN), and Rahall (WV) voting in favor of the amendment. It's further evidence that, despite some media reports, Members of Congress in toss-up districts need to support immigration enforcement rather than side with amnesty advocates.
Rep. King's second amendment is one that's offered nearly every Congress and would deny funds appropriated to the Justice Department from being used to reimburse municipalities that provide sanctuary to illegal aliens. The amendment passed 214-to-194.
The House is in recess next week, but in the next few weeks, Leadership will likely bring to the floor the spending bill for the Department of Homeland Security. We should see votes on several immigration amendments to that legislation.
Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.), who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee, has announced that Senate Democrats will not include Rep. Jeff Denham's (R-Calif.) ENLIST Act in the Senate version of the National Defense Authorization Act. This is a significant victory considering House GOP Leadership supported Denham's effort to include his military amnesty in the NDAA.
What's maybe more interesting, though, are the comments from Gang of Eight spokesman Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.):
We are not going to go along with minor fixes that fail to address the huge systematic problems of our immigration system today. ...

If the oil is leaking in your car, your muffler has a hole in it, and you have a flat tire you don't change the windshield wipers. But that's what they want to do with this ENLIST Act. Republicans are barely even considering that, but it doesn't even scratch the surface of our immigration system.
Sen. Schumer claims that he provides a voice for the 11-18 million illegal aliens living in the United States, but he's made it clear that he's not interested in passing legislation that grants amnesty to just one segment.
Sen. Levin's decision coincides with an announcement by the Obama Administration stating that it's delaying a review of deportation policies until later this year. The administration worries that taking further steps to curb even more deportations would provide House Republicans with more reason to not act on immigration reform. The White House warns, however, that it will take steps to end nearly all immigration enforcement if House Republicans don't act by the end of the summer.

Judging the Impact of Your Vote

Was Their Sacrifice For Nothing?
In The Balance
Did You Know?: Of the 12 federal lawsuits filed in the past year—where one-man, one-woman marriage laws have been struck down as unconstitutional— nine of those judges were appointed by liberal presidents, and only three by conservative presidents?

Visit our "State of Marriage" map to see how judges have ruled on marriage in your state.

And then download our complimentary resource, Religious Freedom: Protecting How We Practice Our Faith.
Day of Dialogue, student speaking up for God's Word.
We've all heard the adage, "What you reap is what you sow"—meaning actions (or inactions) have results, and sometimes consequences.
The same can be said for your vote on Election Day. One vote can have a ripple effect for years to come.
Often, when we prepare to cast our vote for a candidate for U.S. president or U.S. senate, we forget these future elected leaders will determine the judges who sit on our nation's federal courts. And in states where judges aren't elected, the governor and state legislature are usually involved.
To put this into perspective, consider this statistic:
Over the course of eight years, a two-term president will appoint around one-third of the nation's 900 federal judges to fill positions left vacant by attrition or retirement.
That's roughly 300 unelected, unaccountable federal judges who rule on a range of issues impacting your daily life, including your religious freedom.
And not all federal judges hold to the same philosophy—not by a long shot.
Conservatives generally favor judges who believe the U.S. Constitution should be interpreted to mean what the Founders understood it to mean. Liberals, however, often favor judges who believe in a "living Constitution" that's interpreted in light of changing trends and morality. These two judicial philosophies are in direct conflict.
A recent example of this philosophical "tug-of-war" happened in the town of Greece, N.Y., where the U.S. Supreme Court re-affirmed the right of city councils and other public bodies to begin their meetings with prayer. That decision was by a razor-thin 5-4 decision and split along conservative/liberal lines.
The freedom to pray in the public square was upheld by a single vote! So you see, your one vote does carry weight, and elections do have consequences.
Within the next few weeks, the Supreme Court justices will, once again, rule on another important religious freedom issue. In the Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood Specialties cases, the justices will decide whether business owners must give up their religious rights when they decide to earn a living. Will we be in for another 5-4 ruling? And will the ruling be in favor of religious freedom?
Focus on the Family is offering a free, downloadable Religious Freedom guide that will help you understand the precarious state of religious freedom today, as well as help you get up to speed on knowing your constitutional rights.
Our religious freedom should not be subject to the whims of judges. Together, let's take up the challenge of securing our freedom for this and future generations.

Save Our Healthcare: Stand with Dr. Ben Carson
Dear Larry,

Today, we begin.

If you’re like me, you know Obamacare isn’t working. And it won’t ever work.

I’d like to see it gone, period. But we can’t beat something with nothing – and going back to the status quo is not acceptable either.

So today, we begin to lay out an alternative.

We are thrilled to announce the Save Our Healthcare “Remedy for a Free & Healthy America,” our simple, 5-step plan to replace Obamacare.

Because we want people to have time to learn about and discuss our proposals, we will be releasing our plan as a 5-part video series over the coming weeks.

We start today with Part One: Personal Accounts, Personal Control, which you can watch below in just 2 short minutes.

In Part One, I explain why expanding access to personal, tax-free Health Savings Accounts will empower patients, reduce costs, increase transparency, and put the most important person in control of your healthcare – you.

We hope you enjoy our video, and share it with one or two people that you care about.

Here’s the simple truth: the mid-term elections are less than six months away, and we have the opportunity to elect a new class of reformers who can start the process of replacing Obamacare.

But before we can even hope to win a vote, we must win an argument. We must convince our fellow Americans that our ideas are the right ones.

Today, we begin that effort – and I’m honored that you’ll be standing with me.

Dr. Ben Carson
Chairman, Save Our Healthcare
American Legacy PAC

P.S. I'd like to thank you, and the 300,000+ other Americans who have signed up to support the Save Our Healthcare Project. We couldn't do this without you.

The Forced Amendment:

Dems Push for Constitutional Re-Do

Senator Chuck Schumer is a lot of things -- but James Madison, he is not. Don't tell that to the New York Democrat, who, along with Sen. Mark Udall (D-N.M.), thinks he understands freedom better than the author of America's Bill of Rights. Two hundred twenty-three years after the First Amendment went into effect, Senate liberals are trying to put an expiration date on political speech. While most Americans were firing up their grills last weekend, Sen. Udall was lighting a match under Senate Democrats to get a vote on his Joint Resolution 19. And if it's successful, the National Archives will need more than bomb-proofing to protect America's founding documents.

Four years after the Supreme Court struck down restrictive campaign finance laws, the Left is still smarting. A summer away from a reelection bloodbath, Democrats know they can't hide from their records -- but they can try to silence the people talking about them. That's the aim of S.R. 19, which would essentially strip political speech out of the First Amendment and put it in a separate legislative box where Congress (the targets of that speech) can regulate it.

"The real guarantee," explains the Wall Street Journal editors, "would be political advantage for all incumbents, since it's the sitting lawmakers who really benefit from any law limiting contributions to candidates or on their behalf." Of course, even the Founding Fathers understood the temptations of putting elected officials in charge of these basic freedoms, which is why they slipped in this key phrase: "Congress shall make no law... abridging the freedom of speech..."

Now, Congress -- with the help of lawless Democrats -- seeks to do exactly that, hoping to keep their flimsy grip on the Senate majority. Under Udall's bill, Congress would have the "power to regulate the raising and spending of money" on campaigns and candidates, undermining voters and minimizing the influence of their opponents. Super PACs, which have virtually no limitations for election spending, are the Left's biggest bulls-eye, followed by other outside groups.

Interestingly enough, the measure goes out of its way to protect the freedom of the press (which is no big surprise, considering whose side they're on). But, as the WSJ points out, "Why should [liberal] Warren Buffett's company enjoy free speech rights because he owns a handful of newspapers along with insurance companies, while Jeffrey Immelt's is muzzled because GE makes jet turbines?" Democrats insist the debate is about accountability -- when in reality, it's one of the most transparent plays for job security Harry Reid's
Senate has ever attempted.

Amending the Constitution requires a two-thirds majority in both chambers and the approval of three-quarters of U.S. states. Even so, Majority Leader Reid isn't giving up any time soon. The Democrats' top dog already promised a string of votes on the measure after its first Judicial Committee hearing next Tuesday. Even after the Left lost its bid to change the IRS rules on lobbying groups, the open season on conservatives continues. No longer content to just ignore the law, the President's party is ready to blow holes in the Bill of Rights. But if the public outcry is any indication, they've picked the wrong fight.

of course they did

Government Considered Using Military to Defeat Cliven Bundy

If you thought it was illegal for the United States military to be used against American citizens, the current administration disagrees with you. According to the Washington Times, the White House considered calling out the military to deal with Cliven Bundy.  Happily, they didn’t do so, but they could have.

A 2010 Pentagon directive on military support to civilian authorities details what critics say is a troubling policy that envisions the Obama administration’s potential use of military force against Americans.
The directive contains noncontroversial provisions on support to civilian fire and emergency services, special events and the domestic use of the Army Corps of Engineers.
The troubling aspect of the directive outlines presidential authority for the use of military arms and forces, including unarmed drones, in operations against domestic unrest.
“This appears to be the latest step in the administration’s decision to use force within the United States against its citizens,” said a defense official opposed to the directive.

Directive No. 3025.18, “Defense Support of Civil Authorities,” was issued Dec. 29, 2010, and states that U.S. commanders “are provided emergency authority under this directive.”
“Federal military forces shall not be used to quell civil disturbances unless specifically authorized by the president in accordance with applicable law or permitted under emergency authority,” the directive states.
“In these circumstances, those federal military commanders have the authority, in extraordinary emergency circumstances where prior authorization by the president is impossible and duly constituted local authorities are unable to control the situation, to engage temporarily in activities that are necessary to quell large-scale, unexpected civil disturbances” under two conditions.
The conditions include military support needed “to prevent significant loss of life or wanton destruction of property and are necessary to restore governmental function and public order.” A second use is when federal, state and local authorities “are unable or decline to provide adequate protection for federal property or federal governmental functions.”
“Federal action, including the use of federal military forces, is authorized when necessary to protect the federal property or functions,” the directive states.

So we came closer than we knew to seeing the military put down “civil unrest” in this country. I am not sure why that would be necessary with every federal department being armed to the teeth and SWAT teams occupying the country. But I am glad it did not happen. I hope Congress will legislatively ban this directive.

Stand up for what you believe!

Dear Larry,

You and I know the truth: Faith, family and freedom are in grave danger all across America today.

Father and Son
We either stand up now for what we believe, or risk losing the great legacy our children and grandchildren deserve to inherit.

That's why I hope you'll not only vote this November - but give now to help rally an additional one million voters to the polls. We'll need their support of conservative, pro-family leaders and policies if we want to prevail at this historic moment in American history.

The momentum may be shifting in our favor

We're halfway through President Obama's second term. It appears that so many Americans are upset with his policies, particularly Obamacare, that voters are poised to restore a more pro-family worldview to the U.S. Senate through the men and women they elect.

This is a great opportunity for us. This fall's midterm election will be our best chance - and maybe only chance for at least the next three election cycles - to turn the tide. We must act before America's 238-year-old history of reverence for life, family and religious freedom is completely washed away.

Every $2.80 you give today will help bring another pro-family voter to the polls in November.

CitizenLink has a plan to identify, educate and rally to the polls 1 million conservative, pro-family voters who are likely to join with us.

But your support is essential if we hope to reach them . . . AND combat the media bias, rampant misinformation and toxic rhetoric that characterize our national dialogue.

That's why your gift today matters. Please raise your voice and give today.

Every vote will be crucial for overturning liberal control in the Senate and restoring a conservative, pro-family point of view.

November's midterm election will be here before we know it, and we need your help today to rally voters to the polls. Please stand with me today and help bring pro-family victory in November!

For Faith and Family,

help if you can

Fellow Conservatives:

There are two very important Republican primary elections for the U.S. Senate next week, and we need your help to achieve victory.

In Mississippi, conservative state senator Chris McDaniel (R-MS) is running to replace incumbent Republican Thad Cochran (R-MS) who has been in Washington for 41 years and has voted for wasteful spending, bailouts, and mountains of debt.

SCA McDaniel TV Ad - "Values"Thanks to the support of freedom-loving Americans like you, Chris McDaniel is running neck-and-neck with Cochran with just one week to go.

We recently launched a new TV ad that highlights Chris McDaniel's conservative, Mississippi values. The new spot says McDaniel "isn't running to join the club, he's running to join the fight."

Watch our new TV ad and donate to SCF to help us win in Mississippi.

In Iowa, conservative state senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) is running against a liberal Republican named Mark Jacobs who supports cap-and-trade legislation, Common Core, and raising the debt limit.

SCA Ernst TV Ad - "Leader"Ernst is working hard to finish first in the Republican primary election with 35% or more so she can secure the nomination. The most recent poll has her at 34% so she's very close to victory.

We launched a new TV ad today, which highlights Joni Ernst's conservative platform of cutting wasteful spending, balancing the budget, and fully repealing Obamacare.

Watch our new TV ad and donate to SCF to help us win in Iowa.

Your support will help us promote these two outstanding conservative candidates and turn out the vote on Election Day.

Why are all mass murderers Democrats?

Col. Larry Kaifesh

Allen West Guardian Fund
Dear Pastor,

What's in Illinois? Colonel Larry Kaifesh... and he needs our help.

Larry, I'm proud to announce that I have selected Marine Colonel Larry Kaifesh to receive the official endorsement from the Allen West Guardian Fund.

Colonel Kaifesh has spent the majority of the last 23 years serving the nation in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantry Officer. Since the September 11 terrorist attacks, Larry has deployed five different times to Iraq and Afghanistan – leading Marines, Sailors and coalition partners against those who wish to do us harm.

Now, I'm asking him to deploy into harm's way one more time – to Congress.

Colonel Larry Kaifesh needs our help and I'm asking you to join in making an immediate contribution of $25, $50, $100 or more right now to support his campaign and ones just like it.

Friends, I want you to consider the type of man I'm asking you to join me in supporting. His military awards include:

- The Bronze Star;
- Navy Commendation Medal with "V" for Valor in combat;
- Defense Meritorious Service Medal;
- Meritorious Service Medal, and;
- Navy Achievement Medal.

When I promised to endorse 14 hard-charging constitutional conservatives that would go to ends of the earth to defend our values and country....I had candidates just like Colonel Kaifesh in mind.

So will you join me in supporting him with an immediate contribution of $25, $50, $100 or more right now to support his campaign and ones just like it?

Throughout his career, Colonel Kaifesh has demonstrated courage, integrity, leadership and selfless sacrifice –qualities desperately needed in Washington D.C.

As we are inundated with more disturbing revelations about the Benghazi terror attack and the unconscionable treatment of men and women who have served by the Veterans Administration, it is clear we need more guardians of our Republic in elected office. Colonel Kaifesh is such a man.

I hope you'll join me in strongly supporting Colonel Kaifesh.

Steadfast and Loyal,

Allen West
