Marion and I enjoy Kauai from Sunup to Sundown and more. We certainly had another wonderful time on our vacation. click here The newly sealed and striped parking lot at TLBC sure looked good this morning. I preached on "Triumphant Evangelism". As usual, the sermon outline is on the front page of our church website. click here

The First Friday Fellowship meeting is scheduled for this Friday October 2, 2009 and brother James Hunt is scheduled to be our guest speaker. I am scheduled to fly out that day for a Bible Conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma next weekend. Pray for me as I travel. I have a Doctor appointment tomorrow regarding some complications from a recent colonoscopy.

The LORD is GOOD. Yes Amen! But our national politicians STINK. We're in shock at the moment after news late this week that the Obama administration - despite months of proclamations and posturing to the contrary - has announced that it will remove 384 U.S. Border Patrol agents from their posts along the U.S.-Mexico border. This is AN OUTRAGE!

This announcement - confirmed by Border Patrol Director of Media Relations Lloyd Easterling - comes as a major blow to U.S. national security, particularly in light of recent developments:

*3 suspected terrorists, 3 major terrorists attacks, and 530 aliens from "special interest" countries have been intercepted in recent weeks. *

NOW is NOT the time to open up our borders more to potential terrorists and more illegal aliens. Now is the time to TIGHTEN security.

*Only 32 miles of the more than 700 miles of mandated double-security fences have been built*
*More than 1,300 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border are not under effective control*

I am in hopes that the so-called Health Care Reform package presently being rammed through with absolutetely NO TRANSPARENCY what-so-ever (those promoting it haven't even read it for the most part) will fail. Why do I say that? Because it is in essence a welfare form of government run medicine that will put our nation even deeper in the hole financially and cut benefits to the most needy patients.
Having said that, let me make an observation. It appears that the BO administration has seen that making illegal aliens elgible for the new "Socialized Medicine" is not going to fly. So, they appear to be backing off on that item but please be advised that BO has clearly indicated that even if Obamacare has to be passed without giving illegals access to it, it is his plan to push for what he calls "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" and THAT my friend is nothing less that total amnesty for illegals and thereby they will STILL get in on the free healthcare graveytrain in the end and the good old hard working honest American TAX PAYER will be stuck with the bill again anyway just as it was planned from the very beginning of this big fundamental CHANGE in our land. Dear DC lawmakers, WE SAY NO! click here

Orly Taitz has a very important hearing on Oct. 5 with Judge Carter in CA and she could use a lot of supporters there, especially military in uniform? He will be ruling on the dismissal motion brought by BO and if he rules not to dismiss, it's expected that he will grant discovery to Orly. Tentative trial has already been set for January and since this judge is an ex-marine and has stated that it is very important for the military to know their President is legitimate, that this case is very important and that he will not dismiss on a technicality but believes the case should be heard on its merits, he may just be THE judge who will finally stand up and do the right thing!

Sometimes it just burns me that we have to deal with such ungodly issues in modern society. I just looked at the News Headlines on my Yahoo home page and it is enough to turn your stomach. A Tacoma Judge is going to trial for alleged sex crimes. The political battle over so-called gay rights rolls on with controversy over a Referendum by the people to reject a law passed in Washington State legislators to give all rights and benefits of marriage to "domestic partners". At the same time the Washington courts have upheld a BAN on a Christian Hymn being used in a school graduation ceremony. Go figure.

I received "The Perogative" the other day. It is a newsletter from a two year old political action group called "Family Policy Institute of Washington". They have a website. click here They stand for traditional family values. Washington State is one of only about 24 States that have the Initiative and Referendum political tools and there was a helpful clip in the newsletter that explains the difference between the two. You might be wondering. Here is a brief civics lesson.

A Referendum, as in the case of R-71, asks the voters to accept or reject a law that was created by their legislators, such as SB5688 which puts homosexual partners in the same status as a legally married man and wife. A Referendum can be presented to the people by the legislature or by collecting signatures on petitions. R-71 is an attempt of the people to say "NO, we do not want SB5688 to be the law in our State."

An Initiative on the other hand is not an attempt to approve or reject legislation but rather it is an attempt by the people to "initiate" a law that our legislature will not initiate. Most laws are drafted and passed by legislature but an Initiative, which is put on the ballot by collecting signatures on petitions, is a law that is drafted and passed by the voters. It has some legal limitations but the subject of an Initiative is not limited.

For the over 60 crowd:

Q: Why should 60+ year old people use valet parking?
A: Valets don't forget where they park your car.

Q: Is it common for 60+ year olds to have problems with short term memory storage?
A: Storing memory is not a problem, retrieving it is a problem.

Q: As people age, do they sleep more soundly?
A: Yes, but usually in the afternoon.

Q: What is the most common remark made by 60+ year olds when they enter antique stores?
A: "Gosh, I remember these."

About Government run health insurance

I was thinking about the public option debate and realized that I myself actually spent the first 21 years of my life in a government run health care program. We don't really need a new one. We already have one. It is called the US Military. Dad was a career soldier and I inlisted immediatly after graduation from High School for three years. I received fairly adequate medical care from birth until honorably discharged in 1965. So, if you want to be in a public option, sign up and go to boot camp like hundreds of thousands of others have done.

Since I was honorably discharged, I have the option of going to any VA Hospital for my medical needs but I had better choices given to me by employers during my working career. Now that I am retired, I actually prefer Medicare to the VA and have chosen to buy a suplemental plan to help with any medical expenses above the 80% covered by Medicare. I say again, "There is no need to create a new public option called by any other name. All we need to do is work on improving the coverage and service that is already available to law abiding citizens of our nation and get better control of unfair price gouging in the health industry."

Another thing that our lawmakers might consider working on rather than this unproductive effort to push through an unfair s0-called public option, is to create a way for Doctors, Clinics and Hospitals to charge the country of origin for medical bills not payed by illegal aliens that use our emergency rooms as their "free public option".

As Pastor of TLBC I have separatist convictions about the one way of salvation and proper service to the Lord according to the New Testament pattern and that therefore will not let me be a part of the local Ecumenical Ministerial Association. They send me their monthly paper anyway. There was an interesting and timely article in this months edition. It was entitled "What You Don't Know About Healthcare Can Really Hurt You" by Victoria Doyle. It started off with a brief testimony about a friend that died due to an untreated dental infection. Let me give you here a couple of points of information in the article.

"What you should know is that there is help, whether you are over or under 65. The Office of the Insurance Commissioner sponsors the Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) volunteer program. The SHIBA program offers free, confidential and impartial consultation to help Washington residents of any age or income level locate and access coverage for health, dental and vision services..... While resources are indeed scarce, there are options available..... The SHIBA Helpline can be reached at 1-800-562-6900. Additional information can be found at "

I couldn't get in....

Well I drove the hour and 15 minutes over to Bremerton for the 7:30PM Town Meeting scheduled by my Congressman Norm Dix on the subject of Health Care Reform. I got there about 7:15Pm and by that - time the Convention Center was already packed beyond capacity and the doors were shut and all the people you see in the pictures still outside never got in. I took these shots with my cell phone. The top couple of shots were taken through windows at parts of the crowd inside. From what I could tell it looked like a propaganda program with canned packets of info systematically being filtered out to the crowd. I don't know if they ever gave anyone an opportunity to voice any concerns about what the political elite in Washington DC is force feeding our country. I texted a few people that I thought would be interested about the wasted trip. My sister and brother-in-law lived near by so I went to their house for a visit. They tried to bring the meeting up with a live feed on their computer but were not successful. I posted some tweets on my twitter page about concerns I wanted to share with the Congressman, had nice visit with Dea and Wally and drove home paying the $4 toll for crossing the Narrows Bridge. Here are some of the points I wanted to raise.

I and millions of Americans with me are for Health Care Reform. To us that means better service for less money. It does NOT mean Socialized Medicine. Looking at HR3200 we see:

It will raise our taxes again. We say NO!
It will rob States of State rights. We say NO!
It will force many to change to a Dr. authorized by the Government Plan. We say NO!
It will redistribute the wealth of our nations small businesses. We say. NO!
It is a carte blank to illegal aliens and career welfare freeloaders. We say. NO!
It can dis-enroll us from our private plans at will. We say NO!
It will allow scaling back of service to the weak and elderly. We say. NO!
It creates a government insurance company that can wipe out our health plans. We say. NO!
It requires the IRS to divulge our tax info to the Health Care Commissioner. We say. NO!
It will pay for abortions on demand with our tax money. We say. NO!
It will rob the VA and Medicare to pay for Obama-care. We say. NO!
It is a blanket fix-all that won't work. We say. NO!
