This is our Newsletter and Quarterly Report for the 1st quarter of 2009. See our church website for the outlines of the latest sermons on FAITH preached on Sunday mornings. In our afternoon services we continue to study a variety of things in the New Testament. The guest speaker for our anniversary services in January was Elder George Kelley, Pastor of the Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Ontario, California. Sister Alice came with him and we all had a wonderful time.

Pastor attended the Bible Conference in Granite Bay, California in March where Elder Mike Prater is Pastor. My message on “Keeping A Good Heart” was well received. Marion went with me this time and we drove down in her ’95 Buick LeSabre using a Garmin GPS to keep us on track. Marion drove all the way down and we got 30MPG on the trip. Coming back it was only 22MPG due to heavy head winds. It was a good trip. The Conference was outstanding and we were treated like royalty by the church there.

We have had about 595770 hits on our church website. We have visitors off and on. Pray for Penny, Jason, Becky, Brad, Crystal, Ann and Passion. We have also started a First Friday of the Month Fellowship and it is going over well with a faithful few. Our Tract A Day Club is not getting much activity for some reason. Pray that our people would want to be more involved in reaching out with this ministry. In January we handed out 104 tracts. In February we handed out 45 tracts. In March we handed out 70 tracts. The weather has a lot to do with it I think and the aging process of our membership.

Our church attendance still needs improvement. We are constantly seeking the Lord’s will on what we can do to be more effective with our outreach efforts and not compromise on truth or Biblical standards. As the weather turns nicer, I will be out in the neighborhood again passing out gospel tracts because, “If we want God’s blessing on our outreach, we must outreach.” I have also published my first two books using the POD technology at Xlibris Publishing. You may check them out on my Author Page at the Xlibris Website: www.xlibris.com/Killion.html

Our Missionaries are always thankful for your prayers. Brother Bob Ellis, our Missionary in Ireland is doing well at this time and we recently baptized a new believer, Sarah Doherty, there. Brother Cresencio Baldemor, our Missionary in Philippines is also doing well. The financial needs in the Filipino work are for church building projects and brother Baldemor’s travel expenses. Brother Russell had his knee replaced in February and is recovering nicely from that. Brother Skip is presently in the hospital again regarding a problem on his foot that will not heal due to complications from diabetes. He is doing better than he was and is requesting special prayer for his wife, sister Teresa, who is very down, depressed and discouraged. Remember our older members in prayer and those in distant places. Thanks again for your faithful prayers.
AMEN.
