Face on Mars Stamps

In 1990 the country of Sierra Leone printed a limited edition set of stamps to commemorate the exploration of Mars. Only 3,000 sets were released into circulation before the plates were destroyed. The original cost was equivalent to US $135. Today they sell as a novelty.  Promoter Feinstein did not see the results expected when he presented these stamps on the market due to a shut down of the U.S. Space Program.  Feinstein insists that some have sold their stamps at a nice profit.  This investor has never had a decent offer on his.

Here are all five sheets for your viewing enjoyment:

"Face on Mars" Pictures: On 25 July 1976, Viking Orbiter 1 photographed something strange. Are these features of natural origin or not? Visit this site and form your own conclusion about these images from the Cydonia region of Mars.

I have a complete set of these rare stamps if you are interested.

Yes. I am willing to sell.

Many scoff at those that were taken in by Feinstein's sales pitch on these stamps but the Face on Mars has become something of a cult classic. Here is another blog about them. http://mars-maniac.blogspot.com/2008/06/face-on-marsscam.html

If those stamps are on a postmarked cover, that went through the mail system, in either 1990, or 1991, the entire collection might be worth a couple of hundred dollars.

From what I read (probably in the Omni magazine)one very lucky person sold his/her set for $12,000. Maybe I'm wrong, but someday in the future, I believe these stamps will be worth a fair amount of money considering that after being made, the original stamp plates were destroyed. I highly doubt we are the only creatures on a planet with many, many universes in space. My hope is that there is life on Mars. What other reason would it exist? If planets are pieces of the big bang, how come they all seem to be so perfectly spherical when so many other bits (asteroids, comets, etc.) are flying through space? I'm certainly no expert on space, planets,or even science, but I do believe there is some kind of life on Mars. The question is that if life is found, will the powers that be tell the rest of us the truth.
