2nd Amendment Rally in Olympia

Oh my! The weather was terrible this morning and I'm sure that put a damper on attendance at the March and Rally in Olympia today defending the 2nd Amendment right of Americans to own and bear arms. Eventually the sun came out and it was nice. Many of the folks there were "packing". There were a good number that wore their holsters openly and some even had carbines and rifles slung over their shoulders. There were some political candidates there and a couple gave fiery speeches in support of gun rights. Sean Salizar, running for Senator and David Hendricks, running for Congressman were two in particular that I remember. There was another young man there also (sorry I forgot his name) that was very knowledgeable about the State and Federal laws on gun control and so on. He was the gentleman that got the recent Seattle ban on guns in Parks struck down. I was also introduced to an organization called Open Carry and here is their website. click here

I didn't see any of the Tacoma 912 Project folks there. I think most of them went to the Western Washington Gun Show at the Puyallup Fairgrounds today and were busy getting signatures for Initiative 1058 which if passed will require the public schools to teach our children where we get our Constitutional Rights and why it is important to know the State and Federal Constitutions and their relationship to the Declaration of Independence. Students would be required to pass standardized testing on this subject to graduate from High School. If you have not signed this petition yet and you are a registered Washington voter, please sign it and get your friends and neighbors to sign it too. The next generation is losing it's rights and they don't even know it. This will help. Ignorance is NOT bliss when it comes to freedom.
