Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,  Problems and worries of everyday life are all around us.  Conflicts from within and without constantly threaten the peace that we desperately need and want as individuals and as a nation.  You promise in your word (Phil.4:6-7) that when we take these things to you, a peace that passes understanding will keep our hearts and minds through Christ.  Thank you for your love and mercy.  There is so much fear mongering from both sides of the political arena today that we cannot help but turn to you for help.  Our sins are ever before us and we ask that you cover us with grace and help us to see how you have given atonement and guide us back to “thus saith the Lord” in our public and political life as a nation.  Give us leaders that will follow the pattern laid down for us in thy word for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.    In Jesus’ name, AMEN.

If you are on Face Book, join our prayer event and agree to stop for one minute every day at 6PM Pacific time and pray for our nation.  Set your cell phone calendar as I did to remind you to do this.  You are also welcome to visit our church facebook page and “like” it.

Visit our Church website (TLBC) and listen to the audio clips of today’s sermons.  The morning message was on “Five Ways to Light up the Darkness.”  If God hears and answers YOUR prayers, remember TLBC before His throne.  Our feeble efforts in reaching our community with the truth are not being received very well.  We long to be more effectual in our outreach.  There are SO many that could come and attend our worship services if only they would.

I preached the graveside funeral service for my dear mother-in-law yesterday.  She was 91 and loved the Lord with all her heart.  Pray for my wife in the loss of her mother and all the Hirata family as they deal with the empty spot down here as Oma has joined Opa at the feet of Jesus.   AMEN.
