Dear Larry,
Pres.
Obama announced yesterday that he wants 11 million+ illegal aliens put
on a pathway to U.S. citizenship with jobs and benefits as soon as
possible.
What do YOU want???
Obama
was a bit vague in his Las Vegas speech, but the policy outline
distributed by the White House makes very clear his demands. Full voting
citizenship for most all 11+ million illegal aliens with NO CONDITIONS. NO guarantees about border security. NO E-Verify in place to check for employment fraud. NO funding of Entry-Exit visa-checking system.
After reviewing Obama's plan, our Director of Government Relations, Rosemary Jenks, told the press:
"This is not a serious plan for comprehensive immigration reform; it is a comprehensive special-interest New Year's wish list,in which everyone gets something except the American people. Unfortunately,all Americans get is the bill,which they will have to pay with their jobs and their tax dollars."--Rosemary Jenks, NumbersUSA
The other plan to surface this week is from a Senate "Gang of Eight."
The group includes long time Amnesty champions like Sen. John McCain
(R-AZ), Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY), and
Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ). No surprises here. All these men have
pulled every trick imaginable for years to push Amnesty.
More surprising is the addition of Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who actually campaigned against
Amnesty while running for the Senate! In 2009, he said, "If you grant
amnesty, the message that you're sending is that if you come in this
country and stay here long enough, we will let you stay. And no one will
ever come through the legal process if you do that." We hope this is a
temporary lapse for him.
Now,
I know NumbersUSA members are only human. And hearing and reading news
on this subject that is slanted only in the pro-Amnesty direction can
feel confusing. You may yourself have some questions that need to be
answered about all this. I'll try to answer them.

Questions That Can Be Answered
1. Will Amnesty STOP illegal immigration?
Of course not! ALL of our decades of experience with Amnesties and its results shows that Amnesties encourage much more illegal immigration.
Why? Once we as a nation confirm that criminal behavior is forgotten
and rewarded with citizenship, voting, social welfare benefits like free
health care, it's easy to see why hundreds of millions more foreigners
will be tempted into this crime. That is what happened after the giant
Amnesties in 1986 and the six subsequent smaller amnesties in the 1990s,
and it will happen this time.
2. Is Amnesty GOOD for the economy?
NO!
These people are already employed. That's why they are here. If illegal
immigration actually creates any jobs, they are long ago created. If
the illegal aliens are working illegally at payroll jobs, they are
already paying all the taxes they are ever going to pay (it's taken
right out of their checks). If they are paid under the table, I suppose
some more honest souls amongst them might start filing tax returns.
3. How about government spending?
Terrible! When you're earning low wages like many of these workers do, and you file a tax return, the government PAYS YOU THE TAXES! It's called an Earned Income Tax Credit, and it goes to millions of low-wage Americans. It's not supposed to go to illegal aliens, but it will be paid to them as soon as they become legalized. This will cost billions. Also, once they are legalized, the 11+ million will qualify for Medicaid (free medical care!). This one benefit could cost the government $50 BILLION every single year! Sen. Jeff Sessions says the total cost of an Amnesty will reach $1 TRILLION!
4. Who BENEFITS from Amnesty?
Let's
be frank -- amnesty will not only reward 11 million illegal aliens with
a path to citizenship, but it will instantly create 11 million new
legal workers who will be jumping to the head of the employment line in
front of 20 million unemployed Americans.
Who
benefits from Amnesty? Well, the illegal aliens benefit. Big Business
that loves cheap labor benefits. People who make their living handing
out government benefits benefit.
5. Who LOSES from Amnesty?
Legal Immigrants Lose.Those
who have worked hard and immigrated to the U.S. through legal means,
and those waiting in their home countries for green cards lose. Why
should they experience depressed wages and job competition from illegal
aliens who are suddenly rewarded with legal status.
Taxpayers lose! Tens of Billions more of government spending for social welfare each year. To gain what for taxpayers? NOTHING!
Unemployed Americans lose! Please remember that 20 million Americans cannot find full time work. NOBODY is talking about them. NOBODY seems
to care about what they want. Only half of recent college graduates can
fine work in their fields. How does legalizing 11+ million more workers
help them?
6. Can we WIN?
Take heart! We have EVERY chance of stopping this -- IF NumbersUSA members will PULL TOGETHER and GET DETERMINED!

7. Do we have any GOOD news?
YES!
I hope you heard that NumbersUSA had a huge victory late last week in
the ICE agents' lawsuit against Janet Napolitano and the Obama
administration. As you know, NumbersUSA has given its complete financial
backing to 10 ICE agents who are suing the administration over the
DREAM Act amnesty edict that Pres. Obama issued last summer.
Thursday,
we learned that Judge Reed O'Connor, of the federal district court in
Dallas, hasruled that the ICE agents DO have standing to sue the
administration on the DREAM-amnesty programset up by executive
directive.
As you know,gaining standing is the first and most critical step in any federal lawsuit.In general terms, you have to prove an imminent and personal harm to gain "standing" in federal court. In recent years, the rules have tightened and so federal lawsuits on policy-related matters have become extremely difficult.
So,this is a huge, huge victoryfor the ICE agents and for NumbersUSA, since we are backing the suit financially! The next step in the process will be for Judge Reed to rule on the merits of the case.

America's 30th President, Calvin Coolidge (1923-1929), restored dignity to the White House following the scandal-plagued Harding administration. Coolidge was a dedicated family man and his two sons were ardent Boy Scouts. The international scout movement was birthed in the mind and experience of British Army Lieutenant General Robert Baden-Powell and launched at boy's camping trip on a tiny south England harbor island in 1907. The U.S. Congress granted a charter to the Boy Scouts of America in 1916. On May 1, 1926, Coolidge addressed the Scouts National Council in Washington, D.C.:
Development and character...can be secured only through action. The strengthening of the physical body, the sharpening of the senses, the quickening of the intellect... is invaluable in the growth and training of youth... represented by the Boy Scout movement... [A] scout binds himself on his honor to do his best, as the oath reads: "1. To do my duty to God and country, and to obey the scout law; 2. To help other people at all times; 3.To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight." The 12 articles in the scout laws are not prohibitions, but obligations; affirmative rules of conduct. Members must promise to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent... the boy may not be merely passive in his alliance to righteousness. He must be an active force in his home, his church, and his community...But the Boy Scouts Coolidge spoke about could soon be a thing of the past. Having long-resisted pressures to lower their standards to accommodate scouts with incompatible ideologies and lifestyles (e.g., atheists and homosexuals), the Scouts are reportedly considering outright capitulation to the homosexual community.
The last item in the scout "duodecalogue" ...declares that a scout shall be reverent. "He is reverent toward God....He is faithful in his religious duty [and] respects the convictions of others in matters of custom and religion ...realizing the scriptural assertion that they who sin are the servants of sin and that the wages of sin is death. The Boy Scout movement has been instituted in order that the youth, instead of falling under the domination of habits and actions that lead only to destruction, may come under the discipline of a training that leads to eternal life... We need a greater faith in the strength of right living. We need a greater faith in the power of righteousness. These are the realities which do not pass away. On these everlasting principles rests the movement of the Boy Scouts of America. (see "American Presidency Project;" Underlining Added)
Extortion of the Scouts - Last week, the leftwing Mother Jones magazine, wrote about the shakedown of the Boy Scouts:
[The] Boy Scouts long-standing policy of banning "open or avowed homosexuals [2]" is starting to cost it some major financial backers: In the last six months, companies including UPS [3], United Way [4], the Merck Company Foundation [5]and the Intel Foundation [6]have announced they will drop or postpone funding for the Boy Scouts. Verizon Communications could be next: Over 70,000 people [7] have signed a petition asking the corporation to stop funding the Scouts over their discriminatory policies... "We more than understand how much value the Scouting program offers to our Nation and its youth," Brad Hankins, a campaign director for Scouts for Equality [8], the organization behind the Verizon petition and others, tells Mother JonesDon't Ask Don't Tell was overturned in a lame Duck Session of Congress controlled by Democrats. Will Americans stand by silently while this peerless organization for equipping God-fearing young leaders is corrupted? Parents know that the life example and spiritual health of a leader are more important than the content of the instruction. But if this happens the content of instruction will change, given time. Scout leaders are mentors. Many local Scout troops will not survive after families, who refuse to allow their sons to be mentored by practicing homosexual leaders, have taken them out of the program. The salt and light of the Gospel, too, welcomed in earlier days and in many Scout troops today (many are headquartered in churches) will be absent from a program hijacked by homosexual activists, foolishly abetted by American business leaders. Eli's grandson was named Ichabod, because the glory of Lord departed Israel when the Philistines captured the Ark. The blessing and favor the Boy Scouts have known all these years will also depart (see 1 Sam 2:1-5:1). America's youth and America as a whole will be the worse for it. Call the BSA Chief Scout Executive, Wayne Brock at 972-580-2004. Consider writing a letter to the businesses leaders who did this, and pray, pray, pray!
Since at least the late 1970s, the Boy Scouts executive leadership has discriminated against gay members. [9]In 2000, the Supreme Court ruled [10] that forcing the organization to accept gay members would violate its rights under the First Amendment, and the Boy Scouts reaffirmed their ban on gay scouts and scoutmasters in 2012 [11]. Since then, hundreds of Scouts have returned their pins [12] in protest, and the Boy Scouts anti-gay stance has even outlasted the military's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy...
[According] to The American Independent, [13] in the 2009 tax year, the biggest donor to the Boy Scouts was the Intel Foundation, who donated nearly $700,000. Intel announced in September it will stop funding Scout troops [6] that adhere to the ban, and UPS followed suit [3](Scouts for Equality ran petitions against both companies.) - Thanks be to God for keeping the Scout Program strong till now. May He intervene to prevent this travesty against righteousness and justice from taking place! May God give the BSA leaders courage and understanding NOT to forsake their own laws by BOWING to those behind this immoral shakedown. May those within who are behind this resign or be removed! May Scout parents across America rise up to say "NO" to this evil and may they prevail in preserving this great institution! - The President's new immigration policy proposal as well as Senator Marco Rubio's (R-Fla.) ideas are the subject of debate and will affect many families, a number of whom share our values on life, marriage, and religious liberty, but the majority of whom curiously support politicians who are against those values (Agreement). The result could reshape the political landscape.
- The Pentagon announcement that it will end the U.S. Military prohibition on women in combat (AP, Gen. Jerry Boykin, Ban Ends, FRC: Not Worth Risk).
- The nomination of anti-Israel former Sen. Chuck Hagel to Secretary of Defense.
- The DC Federal Appeals Court ruling that will rein in President Obama's from using unconstitutional "recess appointments" to circumvent Congressional deliberation and approval of his nominees.
- New efforts by Hawaiian Lawmakers to pass a traditional marriage amendment are underway.

WE have known that for a LONG time

In a unanimous ruling, U.S. Circuit Judge David Sentelle wrote, “Considering the text, history and structure of the Constitution, these appointments were invalid from their inception.”
. Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution gives the President authority to appoint senior federal officials if the Senate is in recess. In this case, they were not.
Obama has willfully ignored our laws. He ordered his Justice Department to no longer enforce the Defense of Marriage Act, and has consistently refused to allow States to enforce immigration law. He ignored the WARN Act just before the election. He refused to prosecute New Black Panther Party members who disenfranchised voters in Pennsylvania. He will not allow illegal immigrants married to homosexuals to be deported. And he oversaw the huge Fast and Furious Operation and subsequent cover-up, an illegal operation meant to gain support for gun control that led to the deaths of several Americans.
He has violated Habeas Corpus by signing into law the National Defense Authorization Act, which allows the government to detain United States citizens without a trial.
And he authorized the use of military force in Libya without Congressional approval, and Members of Congress are worried he is going to do the same thing in Syria. Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution reserves for Congress alone the power to declare war. After criticism Obama said, “I don’t even have to get to the Constitutional question.” He claimed the United Nations (U.N.) Security Council authorized his declaration. The last time we checked, our Constitution does not give the United Nations the power to declare war in this country.
Our Declaration of Independence is the document our Founders created when they decided to throw off the chains of England and become a free country. If you read what it says, you will find that we are in a similar situation now, only our monarchy is not overseas in England, it sits at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, in the Oval Office, making a mockery of our country and our Constitution on a daily basis.
He is openly threatening our Second Amendment and making a mockery out of every freedom we are guaranteed under our founding documents.
A week ago, he took the oath of office again, and with his hand on two bibles, promised to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” What a lie that was. The American people find themselves in a battle of wills with the President of the United States. On one side are our freedoms, and our Constitution; on the other, a man who has proven he will ignore that document at all costs and act as he pleases, without regard to consequence.
Rep. Trey Radel said, “It is one of those times in our history, we are at this breaking point. “We have completely lost our checks and balances in this country, the Congress needs to hold the president accountable for the decisions that he’s making right now…all options should be on the table.”
Many Americans have been worried about Obama’s dictator-like behavior since his first term. But now, Members of Congress are getting concerned. Even Democrats are threatening impeachment should Obama continue to act on his own. This is a good thing. Congress should be upset that he is ignoring our legislative branch of government, and they should know that we the people are watching how they behave as Obama runs over our laws.
The Court of Appeals ruling is also a good thing, because it means the judicial branch of government is putting a check on Obama’s actions. We have to keep up the pressure. Our Declaration of Independence states, “…when a long train of abuses and usurpations…evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. —“
Barack Obama may not believe in the Declaration of Independence, but we do. It is time to make Obama answer for his crimes against America. For another four years, America will be burdened with a President who refuses to uphold the law of the land—unless we stand together as American citizens and demand a lawful leader.

URGENT: Anti-gun fanatic Sen. Dianne
Feinstein (D-CA) plans to introduce her do-over of the "assault weapons
ban" any minute now in the 113th Congress – and Obama will do all in his
power to ram it through passage into "law." In a notorious 1995
interview with 60 Minutes revealed her mania to unconstitutionally seize our guns and destroy our Second Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms, saying "If
I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States, for an
outright ban, picking up [every gun]… Mr. and Mrs. America, turn 'em
all in."Mrs. America… turn 'em all in"
Nearly
two decades later, Feinstein's new open-ended gun banner's dream bill
to be introduced in January will disarm 'Mr. and Mrs. America' – WE THE
PEOPLE – unless it is stopped in its tracks by Congress AND our States
being COMPELLED to uphold our Second Amendment of the Constitution of
the United States of America!That's right! In Obama's U.S.S.A. – Amerika – the plain and clear 'right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed' is somehow not understood or respected!
But in OUR America, our Second Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms IS enough to protect private citizens from being disarmed and made defenseless by a tyrannical federal government hellbent on transforming America into a policing nanny-state where We the People are no longer citizens but subjects – if only we will fight for it!
Our Founding Fathers may not have known 250 years after they wrote the Constitution of our country that America would be in the midst of a Marxist revolution, one where the federal government would abuse the Commerce clause to regulate the people's right to make, keep, bear, and sell firearms in order to bend us to their despotic will. But our Founding Fathers did know that our liberty could not long survive the motive forces of tyranny lurking within all government – unless the people freely possessed armed weapons of defense against its terrible power and potential for abuse!
That's why they specifically made sure that We the People are explicitly and without infringement by authorities empowered with the right of self defense, including self defense against unlawful government coercion. And that God-given right, with the full measure of respect for the Second Amendment of our Constitution which enshrines it, is exactly what We the People MUST demand of government before our guns are gone, and tyranny and chaos no longer kept at bay.
Right
now, SEVERAL states are passing legislation MAKING IT A CRIME to
enforce Obama's executive actions infringing on the Second Amendment!
And forty county sheriffs have vowed not to enforce ANY anti- or
unconstitutional gun bans, laws or edicts coming out of Washington DC.Montana state lawmaker Rep. Jerry O'Neil of Columbia Falls is pushing for the state of Montana to request an amendment to the U.S. Constitution, to amend the Commerce Clause in order to buttress protection of states' rights and the rights of citizens protected by the Second Amendment.
O'Neil wants the word "among" in Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution to be replaced with "between" to read, "Congress shall have power … to regulate commerce with foreign nations, and interstate commerce between the several states, and with the Indian tribes." This, he says, will protect states' rights to do as they wish inside their own border, and with specific regard to the Second Amendment WITHOUT Big Brother in Washington.
O'Neil also wants to defend our guns from the U.N. Gun Grab by inserting the phrase "subject to this Constitution" in Article 2, Section 2 of the Constitution, so it would read: "The president… shall have the power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, subject to this Constitution, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur."
Dear citizens, while well-intentioned, NEITHER of these amendments is necessary to "correct" our wisely written Constitution! In the danger to our rights we confront today, the fault lies not with our Founders but with US, and our FAILURE to compel our elected politicians to GOVERN under the Constitution as it has been so wisely crafted for our protection, and bequeathed to us!
Defeating the rise of tyranny in our free republic requires OUR ACTION AND COURAGE where a nation that was once governed of, by and for the people is now being ruled by a despot BUYING the vote in Congress through fear, and with Big Government socialist inducements to all who will trade liberty for false promises of security – in a despoiling practice that has corrupted our courts, as well as our elected representatives on Capitol Hill.
We must DEMAND that ALL our states immediately pass pro-Second Amendment laws, and we must compel Congress to protect and defend our Constitutional rights – 'shall not be infringed' means exactly that!
If we would HOLD OUR CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS ACCOUNTABLE for their actions and not be bought off in re-electing them with their false words, ensnaring government 'benefits' and budget-busting pork to our districts, the destruction of the Republic would STOP!
The systematic dismantling of our Second Amendment by Obama and his Leftwing Capitol Hill allies like Dianne Feinstein would STOP!
We CAN win this fight, and WE MUST WIN – but we will only prevail if we STAND STRONG ON THE CONSTITUTION!
We know the objective of the Left is total disarmament pure and simple.In 1995, Feinstein justified her core belief in national disarmament of the citizenry in the name of saving children and reducing crime, just as she is justifying her renewed attempts to pass an extremist, disgusting draconian act of legislation that requires the re-registering of virtually ALL useful or market desirable firearms and the submission of our fingerprints just like those of sex offenders.
Feinstein's war on firearms also includes a buy-back provision forcing gun owners to 'voluntarily' turn in their guns for a pittance or else have the government come into our homes and seize our firearms.

Amazing
Well, you really have to hand it to this Big Government guy. With a brilliantly evil stroke of the pen, he infringed on the 2nd amendment rights of the entire nation while at the same time tripling the size of agencies needed to track guns. Amazing.
