Championing Pastors to Transform America
|
This Sunday, June 30th, is the 5th annual observance of the Call2Fall, which is based on God's "call to fall" in humble, repentant prayer in 2 Chronicles 7:14. Nearly 1.6 million believers from thousands of churches in all 50 states will spend at least 5 minutes on our knees in prayer for our nation. The website has many FREE tools and resources for pastors and church leaders, including Sermon Starters, Bulletin Insert, PowerPoint announcements, videos, etc. Please help us get the word out during these last days before June 30th. Download the short video clips and share them with your church. Pass them on to pastors and prayer leaders you know have a heart to see America turn to God in prayer. Share the links with your Facebook friends and point them to Call2Fall's Website and Facebook page. Watch our short video about the first prayer in the Continental Congress. At another desperate time in our nation's history, that pastor-led prayer moved many of our Founding Fathers to their knees and even to tears. Like these great men, my prayer is that we will declare our dependence upon God--even as we celebrate our independence. . Please join us by setting aside just a few minutes in your worship services this Sunday and lead your congregation in prayer -- all who are able on their knees -- to cry out to God for our nation. And it is appropriate for us to do it on the Sunday before the Fourth of July, before we break out the picnic gear, fire up the grill, and light the fireworks to celebrate our nation's birthday. Again, visit www.call2fall.com to sign up your church. By joining us, believers in your community who are looking for a participating church can find you. As we unite our hearts and cry out to God, He will hear our prayers and respond. Kneeling for Faith, Family and Freedom, Dr. Kenyn M. A Call to Fall in Humble Prayer
Sunday, June 30, 2013
America needs change. The change we need does not come from
Washington or Wall Street. It comes from God. It begins with God’s people praying to Him for the change we need:
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves
and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then
will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
God promises real change - spiritual healing for our souls and our land - if we will simply humble ourselves in repentant prayer before Him.
We will join others nationwide on June 30, 2013 for the “Call to Fall” on our knees. This call is nothing new. It follows many biblical and historical examples that led to a national spiritual revival.
We have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have
rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws.
(Daniel 9:5)
God describes how the saints of old prayed for the healing and
renewal in their nation. Shouldn't we, too, fall to our knees
before Him and take responsibility for the state of our nation by
confessing our corporate and individual sins? (1 Kings 8:22-54;
Psalm 95; Daniel 6:10ff, Ephesians 3:14).
At the beginning of the War for Independence, the First Continental
Congress called for a day of public humiliation, fasting, and prayer throughout the Colonies on July 20, 1775. James Warren wrote
Samuel Adams:
Millions of people on their knees at once, supplicating the aid
of Heaven, is a striking circumstance, and a very singular one in America. May the blessings of Heaven follow in answer to our
prayers...
That is what we are praying for – a unified effort among God’s people that will hopefully result in God’s hand of judgment being stayed and His blessing being renewed on our lives and our land.
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out,
that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. (Acts 3:19)
