American Conservative,
The IRS scandal is not over.
This week it was discovered that the Internal Revenue Service was improperly scrutinizing tax records of political candidates and donors.
What's worse, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder declined to prosecute the lawbreaking IRS officials who participated in the "unauthorized access" of tax records after they were made known to him.
In simple terms, this means that the IRS is "safe" to continue committing their crimes against individuals, privacy, and - as we saw earlier this year - the First Amendment.
Though Senator Chuck Grassley has sent a letter to the Attorney General asking why he refused to prosecute, the Iowa Senator is already expecting that Holder may "hide behind taxpayer confidentiality laws" to block the truth from getting out.
The sad fact is: these IRS leaks will likely go completely unpunished, and Congress may never even learn the names of those who were involved.
With a system like this, Big Government's IRS will keep abusing and breaking the law as long as its doors are open. This is why we need to close its doors and transition to a more simple and workable system. It can be done and it should.
This said, it's time to abolish the IRS!
Take action and demand the United States Congress to abolish the Internal Revenue Service! Congress can eliminate politically-motivated abuses of the tax system by transitioning to a system that makes the IRS unnecessary.

Government Bullies:
"It turns out that the government employee of the I.R.S. - who will not
testify, who will not help out with the hearings - it turns out she's
been doing this for decades. She was at the FEC telling Republican
candidates
that 'you need to quit and we'll leave you alone. But you need to never
run for office again.' She's been using this bully-nature of government
and
we're sick and tired of government bullies, and we need to send them
home." - Senator Rand Paul
The Internal Revenue Service's attacks on conservative groups and the First Amendment are not theories, they're facts.
I.R.S. Commissioner Daniel Werfel has openly acknowledged the tax agency's crimes and unauthorized use of power: he said that the tax authority has "undermined the public's trust" and that the I.R.S. employees' actions were "completely inexcusable."
"This important agency is founded on a principle of operating impartially. And we failed in that most basic core principle here, and it's devastating to us as an agency and to the people in that agency," said the IRS head.
To remedy the Tax Agency's offenses, Werfel has offered lip-service saying that he will "fully cooperate" with Congress in their investigations and pursuit of reforms.
But the question remains: is simple "reform" enough? Will a series of wrist-slapping measures by Congress successfully bind the I.R.S. - a system that is prone to be used as a tool for government bullying - once and for all?
We've called for an investigation, and we've got one, but what's next? Once the Internal Revenue Service is fully investigated and its criminal members charged with their crimes will this Watergate-dwarfing scandal be considered settled? Perhaps. But if Congress doesn't act more severely the cycle is bound to repeat.
In 1854, H.D. Thoreau famously wrote "There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root." While investigations are important to bring justice to the current strain of I.R.S. abuses, no investigation will prevent the I.R.S. from being used as a bludgeon against Washington's political enemies in the future. Simply, investigations and reform are examples of "hacking at the branches of evil" - they fail to strike the root.
We've called for an investigation and the political animals in Congress moved, now we must take our demands to the next level and strike the root of the problem ...
Take action and demand the United States Congress to abolish the Internal Revenue Service! Congress can eliminate politically-motivated abuses of the tax system by transitioning to a system that makes the I.R.S. unnecessary.

Cruz Says "Abolish!"
While the I.R.S. is caught in a disaster of its own making, now is the time to seriously talk about alternative systems to handle government revenue. We need to demand our public servants to move towards a system that makes the Internal Revenue Service obsolete.
Appearing on Fox News, the Texas Senator shocked the nation when he called for the total abolition of the Internal Revenue Service.
