Talking Points - Hamas Fath Unity Deal April 25, 2014
On Monday, rival Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas announced the formation of their new national unity government.  These two groups have appointed a list of interim ministers that everyone is referring to as "technocrats."  In other words, these men are bureaucrats with no blood on their hands.  Yet the background of these temporary ministers is largely irrelevant.  These technocrats are part of a government in which the terrorist organization Hamas is a full partner.  Whatever figureheads or fig-leaves they choose, Hamas is one of the two organizations really calling the shots.  For the United States to continue to deal with a Palestinian government that includes Hamas is a violation of biblical morality and common sense.  For the United States to continue to give financial aid to such a government is a violation of U.S. law.  When we gather in Washington next month for our annual D.C. Summit, we will have much to say about this issue.

We will be gathering in DC at a critical time, when our leaders may well be finalizing the details of a nuclear deal with Iran.  We know that when thousands of CUFI activists arrive on Capitol Hill, we can change the conversation. We know we can remind our leaders that a nuclear Iran is not only a threat to Israel, but to the US as well.  We know we can focus their minds and stiffen their spines.

It is Christians United for Israel's responsibility, as the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States, to push back against anti-Israel propagandists. We must, in one clear voice, demonstrate that Bible-believing Christians stand with Israel and the Jewish people. We need your help to educate other Christians that if they believe the Bible they should support Israel especially in these critical times.
