June 3, 2014 On Monday, rival Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas announced the formation of their new national unity government.  These two groups have appointed a list of interim ministers that everyone is referring to as "technocrats."  In other words, these men are bureaucrats with no blood on their hands.  Yet the background of these temporary ministers is largely irrelevant.  These technocrats are part of a government in which the terrorist organization Hamas is a full partner.  Whatever figureheads or fig-leaves they choose, Hamas is one of the two organizations really calling the shots.  For the United States to continue to deal with a Palestinian government that includes Hamas is a violation of biblical morality and common sense.  For the United States to continue to give financial aid to such a government is a violation of U.S. law.  When we gather in Washington next month for our annual D.C. Summit, we will have much to say about this issue.     Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ‘deeply troubled’ by US acceptance of PA leaders Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday he is “deeply troubled” by the US decision to maintain relations with the new Palestinian unity government, urging Washington to tell the Palestinian president that his alliance with the Hamas militant group is unacceptable.Read more.      International community extends support to Palestinian unity government The European Union and the United Nations will work with the new Palestinian unity government, on condition it sticks to the principle of peace with Israel based on a two-state solution, the bodies said on Tuesday, joining in the ranks of the US and China. Read more.    Hamas Participation In Palestinian Government Likely Won’t Trigger Cut-Off After seven years of internecine conflict, the Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas joined forces today in a new interim government made up of technocrats.
