Chances are, you are receiving this
email because you are a committed voter and are likely to vote
Republican. You might have returned your ballot already.
So why
are we bothering to contact you? Because we need YOU to communicate
with like-minded family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and anyone else
who respects your opinion. Remind people who share your values to vote.
Here's why. . . .
Pierce
County's 441,840 registered voters have now received a general
election ballot in the mail. You'd think everyone who cares about the
future would find a way to fill it out and deposit it in a drop box by
November 4th.
You would be wrong.
Even
though Pierce County is once again Ground Zero for strategically
important elections in 2014, this county ranked next to last of
Washington's 39 counties for voter turnout in the August primary, when
just 27 percent of voters turned in their ballots.
Our GOP candidates performed
well in the primary, but we must not let those percentages lull us into
complacency. The general election will be won by the Party that turns
out voters who share its vision, and the Democrats' vaunted
get-out-the-vote machine will be firing on all cylinders for November
4, with the financial backing of liberal interest groups and
out-of-state billionaires.
Most state Senate seats that can
preserve the critical Majority Coalition for the GOP in Olympia are
scattered around Pierce County, with the 28th District's Senator Steve
O'Ban (R) most heavily targeted. And fully half of the highly
competitive races that could give Republicans control of the Washington
House of Representatives are located in Pierce County.
These campaigns
have enormous implications for our state and for blocking Governor Jay
Inslee's radical, higher tax agenda over the next two years.
The
fact we are not electing a President, or a Governor or U.S. Senator
here in Washington, does not diminish the importance of Election 2014 in
our state. We have a huge opportunity this year to
change the direction of the legislature and set the stage for critical
electoral victories in 2016.
Spread the word. Forward
this message to family and friends you think are sympathetic. You are a
more trusted source of information to them than what they receive from
campaigns or hear from strangers on television or social media.
As we say repeatedly, "Elections Have Consequences". YOUR vote is important, but making sure your family and friends vote also will really make a difference.
