Obey the King

We're allowing ourselves just 10 minutes of depression this morning as we absorb the news.  

Pres. Obama has nullified the nation's immigration laws. He's defied the Constitution. He has disdained the voters.  You've already heard the news: President Obama isn't satisfied with his current title; he's assumed the power to write his own laws, giving amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants without the authorization from Congress.

This is a disaster for American constitutional democracy and struggling American workers looking for jobs. If nothing changes, five million illegal aliens will be handed Social Security numbers and work permits. They will be able to get jobs as security guards in nuclear installations, working within the secured area of U.S. airports, and in every other field.

ONLY Congress can stop this power grab. The President can't do anything unless Congress gives him the money to do it! But as usual, many Members of Congress who agree with our views in the abstract don't want to soil their hands and fight Obama in the next three weeks, when it matters. We desperately need your help right now to make Congress block this gigantic Amnesty.

There are three actions we need you to take TODAY:

1)	Call your U.S. Representative's local offices. Right now, leaders in Congress are weighing passing a spending bill that would last all the way through next September. With Sen. Harry Reid in charge of the Senate until January, it's certain that such a bill would surrender the power of the purse to the President for yet another year. We need Congress to pass a short-term funding resolution, until the new Congressional leadership takes over. Then, we need the new Congress to block funding for carrying this Amnesty out. It's critical that Congress knows you are not letting them rest one day. Call them today, back at their home district offices.
2)	Send the new fax to your Representative. Instead of peace and quiet back in their home offices next week, we need Representatives to face stacks of faxes on their desks from NumbersUSA members! This fax will tell your Representative to vote for only a short-term funding measure this year, so that next year they can defund the Amnesty.
3)	Make a donation to roll back this amnesty -- and have your gift matched 2-for-1! With Pres. Obama ignoring Congress and making his own law, this thing could get away from us very, very fast.
