Action Alert

  NumbersUSA Meeting Alert

We need action on social media today to make sure the House takes steps to defund Obama's amnesties

Dear NumbersUSA Online Activist,
Tomorrow, the House of Representatives will be voting on two very important amendments. If the amendments succeed, it will be the first step to ending Obama's executive actions on immigration.
We need our activists on social media tweeting and using Facebook to pressure GOP Members to vote with the American worker and against amnesty for illegal aliens.
We have already asked you to call and fax your Member. But throughout the evening, we need to keep the pressure on Republican Representatives.
Below is a link to a NumbersUSA website page that includes Twitter and Facebook information for every House Republican, organized by state.
Please take a minute out of your day to send your Member a quick Tweet and/or Facebook message. Ask your Rep. to support the Aderholt and Blackburn amendments to the DHS spending bill.
A recent study was done on social media and politics. It found that just a handful of social media comments can grab the attention of Congress.
Imagine how much attention we can grab if we leave THOUSANDS of comments tonight!
An example tweet: .@HouseGOP vote YES on Aderholt & Blackburn amends. Americans need you to defund Obama's Amnesty! #DefundObamasAmnesties
Example Facebook comment or message: I urge you to vote YES on both the Aderholt and Blackburn amendments to the DHS spending bills. These important amendments would defund Pres. Obama's November executive amnesties and his 2012 DACA amnesty. These votes are the first step to ending this use of executive overreach.
These amendments, offered by Reps. Robert Adertholt (R-Ala.), Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.), Lou Barletta (R-Penn.), and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), would:
  • Defund implementation of all Obama and DHS November 2014 memoranda
  • Defund the processing of applications and renewals of Obama's 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program
  • Defund 4 of the 5 Morton Memos that deal with prosecutorial discretion and detail who ICE agents can and can't deport
  • Prohibit federal benefits from being given to any illegal alien covered by the November memoranda
Thank you for your time,
melanie
