Greetings from the Washington State March for Life,
We are just about two weeks away! The March
for Life is at Noon on Tuesday, January 20, 2015.
This is the 37th annual march, marking the
landmark 1973 Supreme Court decision of Roe vs. Wade. We expect to continue our
tradition as the largest annual gathering at the capitol steps in Olympia.
Every elected state official is invited to attend, and we welcome legislators
who stand with us for Life to speak to the crowd. We hope you will be there to
hear their message for you! Bring a friend or a busload of friends.
Some people believe that Washington State wrote the book on
abortion laws. Now is the time to re-write that book. More than 40 years after
the decriminalization of abortion we have lost over 55 million lives, including
those of women who have died because of this “safe” procedure. Let’s make
Washington the best place to be a pregnant woman or a baby in this country.
We come together to advocate for the most vulnerable in our
society. It is with hope that we fight for the rights to Life, Liberty, and the
Pursuit of Happiness, for all.
Current laws in Washington are out of touch with the wants
of the people of the state. We have a unique opportunity in this coming
legislative session to advance laws that support the inherent human dignity of
all. There is no reason we cannot offer equal care to women and children (including
the unborn) in our state and nationally. It is time to have an honest
conversation about how we can find ways to protect children, support women, and
build a society with a true respect for life.
On January 20, be a part of the conversation and plan to
make your voice heard with Washingtonians standing for Life. We encourage you
to bring your group AND make a plan to visit your legislators either before or
after the March. Like last year, volunteers will be available following the
rally to help you find your senators and representatives.
If you have never
done it before make this the year you
speak to your legislators face-to-face. They need to know that you are
pro-life and that your voice and your vote matter.
If you can't visit your
legislators, be sure to write a letter to your senator and representatives
telling them that you Marched for Life, that you vote pro-life, and that we can
and should find better solutions than abortion.
Please follow us here and on Facebook (Washington State March for Life) for additional updates.
We look forward to seeing you on January 20!
