now in session

Washington Legislature began its 2015 session.  The NRA will continue this year to fight
any attack against your Second Amendment rights while continuing to help advance
pro-gun and pro-hunting reforms in Olympia.
Unfortunately, during the 2014 General Election, Initiative 594 was enacted into law
after being wholly misrepresented by its proponents and funded almost solely by
anti-gun, elitist billionaires.  Now that it has gone into effect, even law enforcement
officials are unsure of how to enforce the law and are seeking answers.
Anti-gun groups supported by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg,
such as the Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility (WAGR), are now set to
return to Olympia with a laundry list of misguided and ineffective gun control
legislation that they seek to impose on residents of the Evergreen State.  It is more
important than ever for members to get involved and and encourage their family,
friends and fellow gun owners to do the same.
The NRA will keep you updated on the status of legislation impacting your Second
Amendment rights in Washington, in addition to providing a simple and convenient
way to contact your elected officials.  As always, please check www.NRAILA.org
and your email for alerts and action items as both pro-gun and anti-gun legislation
progress through the Washington Legislature.

The Rally today was a grand success in my humble
opinion. Not sure how many were there but enough
to fill the steps of the Legislation Bldg. I brought one
guest with me (a young man named Will who has a
passion for this issue) and I helped a little with set
up and manning the "tables". We will continue to let
our voices be heard and to remind our elected officials
that WE are the boss, not them.

Among the speakers were Alan Gottlieb, chairman
of the Bellevue-based Citizens Committee for the
Right to Keep and Bear Arms; Brian Judy, senior
state liaison for the National Rifle Association and
Adina Hicks, executive director of Protect Our Gun
Rights Washington. They will be joined at the
microphone by State Sen. Pam Roach (R-31st), and
Reps. Brian Blake (D-19th), Rep. Liz Pike (R-18th)
Rep. Lynda Wilson (R-17th).
