True the Vote Fires Back
at Hillary Clinton Remarks on Voting Laws
TTV Founder Catherine Engelbrecht took great exception to remarks given by 2016 presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, on the subject of voting laws in various states during her visit to Houston this week. Clinton’s call for new federal mandates and attacks on election integrity laws did not go unanswered. “If Mrs. Clinton was genuinely concerned about state policies on early voting, her speech shouldn't have been given in Texas, a state that already has a successful early voting program, but rather in her adopted home of New York, a state that has no early voting option at all … Mrs. Clinton’s condemnation of voter ID laws is an unsurprising development given her demonstrated disdain for transparency in government … This speech has put the American electorate on notice that the same D.C. bureaucrats willing to target and abuse organizations like True the Vote will soon control the entire franchise – unless Americans rise up.” Click here to read the full press release.
We Will Not Be Silenced: TTV on Capitol Hill This
Week
TTV attorney Cleta D. Mitchell testified before the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform this week on the issue of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) noncompliance by the Obama Administration. Joined by Sharyl Attkisson, Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch, Jason Leopold of VICE News and others, Ms. Mitchell explained how True the Vote has seen substantial delays in receiving FOIA service as it sought documents related to government targeting in the past years according to the law.

The DOJ’s Next Frontiers in Election Takeover
The Loretta Lynch DOJ has opened new fronts in the federal takeover of elections, now focusing on Indian reservations and those deemed mentally incompetent. TTV attorney J. Christian Adams writes in PJ Media this week: “In the first instance, Attorney General Loretta Lynch has drafted and sent a bill to Congress which would force state election officials to turn over power to tribal governments to determine the location and number of polling places on Indian reservations in state-run elections … In the second instance, the DOJ is seeking to erode the power of states to prohibit the mentally incompetent from voting, as long as they express a desire to vote to their caregiver, often a unionized government worker … In both instances, the Justice Department is acting at the behest of activist groups and undermining powers the Constitution gives to the states.” Click here to read the full article.
