This is our Newsletter and Quarterly Report for the 3rd quarter of 2007. We finished studying the Law, the Five Points of Grace and Pastor has preached on a variety of topical sermons. See our church website for the outlines of the latest sermons preached on Sunday mornings. In our afternoon services we continue to study a survey of things in the New Testament.
Pastor traveled to Troy, Michigan for the Bible Conference at Covenant Baptist Church and had a wonderful time of fellowship with the brethren there. We also enjoyed a wonderful Labor Day Bible Conference at SPMBC in Seattle. Our Missionary to Ireland, Robert Ellis and his wife Dee and their daughter Leta were here too and we enjoyed their stay with us very much.
Sister Marion is recovering more slowly now from her compression fracture in her back and Pastor has also developed back and leg (sciatic nerve) pain in sympathy for his dear bride. Pray that they would both be able to cut back on their Ibuprofen soon. We have been in communication with a group of believers in the Ukraine since early August and there is a good possibility that Pastor will be taking a trip there to teach, baptize, ordain an elder and organize a church in the near future. Please pray about this possibility too.
Our church attendance still needs improvement. We canvas the neighborhood around the meeting place using several different gospel tracts we ordered from Elder Wilbert Ellis in Florence, Kentucky. People here have very little concern about spiritual truth from the Bible. Our membership is aging and becoming less able to get out and about so we are praying for divine leadership on other ways to let folks know about our services.
Our Missionaries are doing well and we receive good reports from them. There are several new visitors in the work in Ireland and two have followed the Lord in baptism. The mission in Northwestern Mindanao is still working on the building program as finances allow and brother Baldemor, who is now in his eighties, faithfully labors to minister to them and other preaching points but is hindered at times due to transportation needs.
Pastor preached a wedding and a funeral in July. Sister Maxine’s son Donnie passed away from liver cancer. One of Pastor’s cousins is in hospice care with cancer. Brother Skip is still battling complications from diabetes. Brother Turner has retired from his secular job. Sisters Joan, Cookie and Sue encourage us from a distance. Sister Sue says she hopes to return to Washington sometime next year. Lloyd was here for the Labor Day Conference but we haven’t heard from him since his return to Texas. Brandon writes from time to time and we never hear from Tom.
Thanks again to those who faithfully remember us in prayer. We need it. We love you in the Lord. Pray for our children and grand children. Pray that God would be pleased in His sovereign grace to save the lost and ad the saved to the church.
