FLAG DAY 2012

The present party of power in Olympia tout how they just balanced the budget.  But what they don’t tell you is how they have mismanaged the state budget for the last ten years.  By using budgeting gimmicks, for years they have hidden a mountain of debt in unfunded liabilities and put state workers’ pensions and health care at risk, as well as creating a huge fiscal overhang for all the taxpayers in Washington.

·        $27.3  Billion Total Unfunded Debt

·         $3.2   Billion Unfunded PERS 1 Pension Plan

·         $1.4   Billion Unfunded TRS 1 Pension Plan

·         $0.6   Billion Unfunded PERS 2/3 Pension Plan

·         $6.1   Billion Unfunded Non Pension Retirement (health care)

        

Bottom line:  One party Democrat rule in Olympia is leading us toward a fiscal cliff with their smoke and mirrors budgets. We need a turn around.  It is time for a new direction with a Republican Governor, Republican State Senate and Republican House in Olympia. Let’s double our efforts by helping our Republican candidates win their elections.
