BO & UN Gund Control

Just HOURS After His Re-Election, Obama Backs U.N. GUN CONTROL Treaty -- Select HERE to DEMAND that Congress REJECT U.N. Treaty!

ALERT: It's ALREADY STARTED -- Barack Hussein Obama thinks his re-election means he has a "MANDATE" to DESTROY American sovereignty and the U.S. Constitution! Just look at this news report, issued ONE DAY after the election:

"Hours after U.S. President Barack Obama was re-elected, the United States backed a U.N. committee's call on Wednesday to renew debate over a draft international treaty to regulate the $70 billion global conventional arms trade.

U.N. delegates and gun control activists have complained that talks collapsed in July largely because Obama feared attacks from Republican rival Mitt Romney if his administration was seen as supporting the pact, a charge Washington denies.

The month-long talks at U.N. headquarters broke off after the United States - along with Russia and other major arms producers - said it had problems with the draft treaty and asked for more time.

But the U.N. General Assembly's disarmament committee moved quickly after Obama's win to approve a resolution calling for a new round of talks March 18-28. It passed with 157 votes in favor, none against and 18 abstentions."

You read that right: just HOURS after Obama won, he signed us onto one of the WORST gun control treaties that's ever come out of the sovereignty-stealing UNITED NATIONS!

The "lame duck" Congress is about to meet and vote on this TERRIBLE treaty -- TAKE ACTION NOW!!!

As the Ohio Liberty Coalition has noted, "Without control of the House of Representatives, the easiest way for Obama to implement gun control might be through international treaties [which only require Senate ratification]. This backdoor legislation would also allow Congressional House Democrats to avoid the backlash from gun owners that is credited with their loss of the House in 1994."

By supporting the United Nations "Small Arms and Light Weapons Treaty," Obama has joined with China, France, Germany, the UK, and 150 other nations in pushing global restrictions on firearms.

Since the treaty hasn't been finalized, we don't even know all of the details yet of all the new restrictions the treaty will attempt to place on American gun owners. However, considering that the administration has facilitated cross-border gun walking operations like Fast and Furious, we can safely assume that Obama is looking to use international law to restrict the rights of American gun owners.

Thankfully, some of the top organizations in support of our Second Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms are also preparing to fight this dangerous treaty. For example, he leader of America's oldest gun rights legal foundation, the Second Amendment Foundation, called out President Obama for his support of the United Nations Small Arms and Light Weapons Treaty the day after the election.

"It's obvious that our warnings over the past several months have been true," said Alan Gottlieb, founder and executive vice president of the SAF. "The election was called about 11 p.m. Tuesday and by 11 a.m. this morning, we got word that the United States was supporting this resolution. We have to be more vigilant in our efforts to stop this proposed treaty," he said.

And, while officials from the Obama regime claim that the treaty will have no effect on domestic gun sales and ownership because it will only apply to weapons exports, the National Rifle Association isn't convinced:

"That's been the claim for years during the first go-around and the short answer is ‘no, we don't buy it,'" said Andrew Arulanandam, Director of Public Affairs for the NRA, citing Obama's support for the reenactment of the semi-automatic weapon ban in the second presidential debate as grounds for suspicion.

After all, the most recent draft of the treaty includes requirements to keep records on "end users," or gun owners. The draft states that, "Each State Party shall maintain national records... Such records may contain... end users," and that "Records shall be kept for a minimum of ten years." If this obligation were to be enacted and followed, it could result in registration for any American that purchases an imported firearm.

And, as the NRA also noted, despite the insistence of a U.S. State Department official this summer that ammunition controls are not feasible and would have "significant administrative and financial costs," ammunition remains within the scope of the working draft. The draft states, "Each State Party shall establish and maintain a national control system to regulate the export of ammunition for conventional arms." In the explanation of its vote in favor of the resolution, Mexico made clear that it would continue to pursue its goal of including ammunition within the scope of the treaty.

WE ALL HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER TO STOP THIS DANGEROUS U.N. TREATY! Congress coming back for their "lame duck" session -- WE MUST STOP IT NOW!

Of course, liberals are lapping this treaty up -- they LOVE it. Suzanne Nossel, executive director of Amnesty International USA, said, "Today's vote is step one toward a hugely meaningful human rights victory. We will be urging the United States and all other countries to keep today's momentum going towards the final passage of the first arms trade treaty." And Anna Macdonald, Head of Arms Control for Oxfam, said at a press conference held at UN headquarters that she conducted with two other treaty supporters, "There is a risk of a diplomatic groundhog day if governments do not change their approach and get this Treaty agreed as a matter of urgency."

OF COURSE LIBERALS LOVE IT -- IT'S ANTI-AMERICAN AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL! And with Congress coming back for a quick "lame duck" session before the end of the year, time is short! If we can FLOOD the offices of every single Senator and Congressman, demanding that they REJECT the U.N. "Small Arms and Light Weapons Treaty," we CAN put a stop to this OUTRAGEOUS infringement on American sovereignty by the U.N. But we need YOUR help -- send your Blast Faxes to every single legislator NOW!

Sincerely,

William Greene, President

P.S. Remember, treaty supporters want ammunition, parts and components included within the scope section of the treaty. They want more detailed record-keeping and reporting requirements that eliminate exemptions for "national security" and "commercially sensitive" data. And they insist that there be no exemptions for transfers of arms pursuant to existing defense cooperation agreements.

WE MUST MAKE SURE THAT CONGRESS DOESN'T CAVE IN TO THE LIBERALS' DEMANDS ON THIS TREATY! You and I need to STAND UP for American sovereignty! TAKE ACTION NOW!
