Immigration ALERT

NumbersUSA Immigration Alert
Free 1-click message to your GOP Members of Congress: "Enforcement, NOT Amnesty"

Following the Presidential election, House Speaker John Boehner and an aide for Majority Leader Eric Cantor said Republicans need to come up with a comprehensive plan for immigration that includes a way to legalize 11 million illegal aliens.
But a new poll from Gallup asked Americans what they thought should be the top priorities for President Obama's second term, and this eye-opening poll found that 62% of Americans think stopping illegal immigration should be a top priority.
Only 37% thought providing an amnesty should be a top priority.
Republicans were even more split on the two issues with 82% wanting to stop illegal immigration and only 25% wanting to provide an amnesty.
Gallup made the following conclusion based on the results:
The weight of public opinion on immigration policy more closely favors the Republicans' emphasis on halting illegal immigration than the Democrats' emphasis on creating a path to citizenship for existing illegals.
Americans don't want an amnesty. But they do want enforcement and an end to illegal immigration. Send Speaker Boehner and Majority Leader Cantor a fax NOW that tells them that you agree with the new Gallup poll that chooses enforcement over amnesty.
Message Boehner & Cantor
Don't you realize that the Republicans' reputation for enforcing immigration laws to protect vulnerable American and legal immigrant workers is the politically popular position?
That's what Gallup found in its national poll of voters last week.
WHAT GALLUP WROTE AS CONCLUSION:
The weight of public opinion on immigration policy more closely favors the Republicans' emphasis on halting illegal immigration than the Democrats' emphasis on creating a path to citizenship for existing illegals." (Nov. 15, 2012)
Why are you abandoning enforcement and trying to push an amnesty?
If you want to get more votes from immigrant groups with your immigration policies, you need to talk boldly about how immigration enforcement is a sign of your deep compassion for the incredibly high unemployment rates they are suffering. The last thing they need is more floods legal foreign workers added to compete with them for jobs.
Why are you trying to undermine all Republican office holders by abandoning what Gallup says is an overwhelmingly winning position?
