>>>>> Shift

Team —

Jay Inslee — relying what he learned during his 15-year stint in Congress — has pushed secrecy, deception and executive branch-only actions to a level previously unseen in Washington State. Shedding light on Inslee's administration has required using our state's public records laws, bearing long wait times for his officials to respond, to uncover his plans to raise energy costs on citizens from Aberdeen to Pullman.

Inslee's lack of honesty was uncovered by Shift, in an extensive investigation that also brought to light his gas tax scheme that could raise prices by a $1 or more per gallon. The public records also show the lengths that Inslee's people went to try to keep their plans secret.

This lack of public accountability is why Shift has spent the last week releasing Inslee administration emails, acquired via public records requests, revealing how Inslee out-sourced the work on his gas tax scheme to outside consultants. Our investigation also revealed that those consultants are paid by extreme environmental groups with an agenda that might not stand up to the public spotlight.

You can read our stories on Inslee's environmental outsourcing below:

Shift will continue to put Inslee and his special interest friends under the public spotlight. The taxpayers of Washington State deserve nothing less.

If you agree, please consider chipping in $3 or more so we can continue our work. We are funded by grassroots donors like you and deeply appreciate your support.
