An Open Letter To: Bob Ferguson, WA State Attorney General
800 Fifth Avenue, Suite 2000
Seattle, WA

Dear Sir:
I am greatly disappointed in you and embarrassed for you due
to your actions regarding the case your office has filed against Barronelle
Stutzman, owner of Arlene’s Flowers.
This is exactly the kind of frivolous lawsuit you should be fighting to
stop. Shame on you! Stop persecuting this grandmother for her
traditional values. There is no harm and
no foul here what so ever and you of all people should know that this kind of
thing is simply a worn out tactic of the hateful bullies in the so-called GLBT
movement and alleged political correctness (not).
Barronelle has not discriminated against anyone in this
case. Do not be deceived by the
manipulators. Arlene’s Flowers has
served the “gay couple” in this case and even hired “gays” in the past. This was simply a decision not to be involved
with an event. Arlene’s Flowers has and
continues to serve customers that identify themselves as “gay”. It is terribly unfortunate that you have
allowed yourself and your office to be puppets of an agenda that uses
harassment, bullying, and intimidation to force their minority opinion upon
everyone else in this State.
What you have done is in direct conflict with
Section 11 of the Washington State constitution which guarantees “Absolute
freedom of conscience in all matters of religious sentiment, belief and
worship,” None of us have the authority
or right to do away with our State Constitution simply because it hinders our desire
to force the world to agree with us.
Yours
Truly,
Larry
J. Killion
