Letter to ATF on ammo ban

Dear Sir:
I have written to my Senators asking for support to stand against the gun grabbing mindset that has infiltrated Federal Politics. They usually ignore me when I write on most subjects but Senator Cantwell suggested that I write YOU directly on this topic.

There are certain elitists who are determined to disarm the citizens of the United States of America and if they cannot take our guns, the next thing they want to do is ban our ammunition. That is an obvious disregard of the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights. The ATF has the responsibility to protect law enforcement from serious threats but also to defend the citizenship of America against having their right to bear arms infringed. Laws are on the books that speak to this responsibility and the 2nd Amendment trumps them all. For over 30 years U.S. citizens have practiced responsible gun ownership for hunting, self defense, competition matches and other sporting purposes. These activities are not a threat at all to any law enforcement personnel.

The aggressive action suggested by some today concerning a reclassification of certain ammunition used in the most popular sporting rifle in America, the AR-15, is UN-American and out of order. Please disregard any thought of a ban on guns or ammunition used by millions of responsible gun owners in America. Recognize the Constitution as the supreme rule of law in our land and stand against those who would open the door more for those of a totalitarian mentality who long to force their idea of a socialist utopia upon the land of the free and the home of the brave.  I look forward to hearing that you agree.

Yours truly,

BREAKING NEWS : ATF Kills Bullet Ban in Big Win for NRA

Under intense pressure from majorities in the House and Senate, and the National Rifle Association's huge membership, the Obama administration has abruptly changed course and is rescinding its push to ban popular and cheap ammo used by AR-15 owners.
