Reloading your pistol during a fight is not something most people look forward to. It means the fight has gone on a pretty long time, and the bad guy has not been stopped by your first efforts. Still, you need to have a working knowledge of how to reload, and you need to practice doing it, so if you ever do need to reload, you can get your gun up and running when you need it most.

There are two types of reloads: The Speed Reload and The Tactical Reload. The Speed Reload is done when the firearm’s slide has locked to the rear after you have expended all your ammo. Watch the video. It is easy to do, but you must practice.

Thanks Kevin, Interesting.
My preference on the emergency reload is to index the full mag in my mag holster and bring it to the weapon as I release the empty mag and hopefully have the full mag in the gun by the time the empty hits the ground.

On the tactical reload, I feel for the full mag in my mag holster first, then remove the partially used mag from the gun and put it in my support side pocket and index the full mag into the gun to continue the fight. My EDC is an XD which has a "chambered round" indicator. That is a feature I really like about the XD. LJK.
