Little Round Top
By Dan Ferrell, ThD
Gettysburg, July 1-5, 1863, remains an example of unusual valor. The Twentieth Maine Regiment and its Commander Col. Joshua Chamberlain held a high position that could keep the North from being flanked by the Confederate boys in grey.
Despite the fact that I am a Sympathizing Copperhead, the story of "Little Round Top" during the famous battle of Ammunition was depleted and the Confederates, though thinned, were relentless with their charges up the hill. Col. Chamberlain knew he could not retreat, nor could he hold off the advances without ammunition. Little Round Top would then be taken and the Yankees would be flanked.
With dozens dead and dying, Chamberlain shouted, "BAYONETS!!!"  Terrified boys in blue stood rank and file ready to charge down the hill to a certain death.
The weary Rebels were so surprised that they surrendered, and "Little Round Top" became a decisive victory for the North.
"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature"
(Mark 16:15).
"According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death" (Philippians 1:20).
The Commander in Chief of Heaven has given us our Mandate: Stay on the Offense, Press the Fight, Take the High Ground, and Do not stop short of Global Evangelism.
Since 1865, America has been strangled and starved to death by a brilliant Anaconda Plan hatched by Satan himself. Pulpits by the late nineteenth century were corrupted by European Rationalism, and our Traditional schools were annexed by a government power play led by men such as John Dewey. Once a generation of children became wards of the state, the rest became easy. Nineteen-Sixty-Three was an Immoral Tsunami for America. Prayer to the God of our forefathers, the time-tested Ten Commandments, and the King James Bible were forbidden in State humanistic Schools. Decades later the textbooks rewrote American history expunging the deep Biblical and Christian influences. For instance, how many adults today know that Baptists were main proponents in giving our Nation Religious Liberty and the Bill of Rights??
In 1963 the FCC (Federal Communication Commission) lowered their moral and decency standards for major Television Networks and the lid on Pandora's proverbial box has never been shut.
Rock groups such as the Beetles and Three Dog Night accelerated rebellion, immorality, drugs, and Far Eastern Religion among our youth by 1964; and if this was not enough, Satan went after our babies in the infamous 1973 Supreme Court Decision Roe vs Wade.
The next forty-two years have all but destroyed our Republic along with a Christian Consensus.

Colors Of Our Flag
By Ronnie W. Wolfe
July 18, 2012

There is the red;
Their blood they shed;
They looked ahead
Beyond their dead;
And freedom fed,
Their anthems read:
There is the red.
There is the white;
Their plan was right
Within the night;
From warriors' fright
To freedom's light
They kept the fight:
There is the white.
There is the blue,
A humble hue;
Their plan they knew,
Their victories few;
God's grace they sue;
God's hand they view:
There is the blue.

Same-sex Marriage and hostility towards non- conforming Christians is escalating. And what is worse: good churches are either capitulating or circling the wagons. Herein lies a serious problem; in fact, it is foundational to the HOPE of our beloved country.
"If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" (Psalm 11:3).
Society is rotting because Salt is untapped, solidified, or useless. Darkness prevails because Baptists huddle in bushels with steeples on them.
"Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. [14] Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. [15] Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. [16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 5:13-16).
Allow me to be blunt. Baptists, particularly Baptist preachers, have been tactfully silent too long. Why?! Are we intimidated, or are we just ashamed of the gospel? Maybe we are so locked stepped with our cliques that we cannot break our lazy protocols?
Our cities are going to hell!! Where are the churches that will rally? Where are the street preachers? Hirelings flee at the howl of the wolf, but surely not preachers? Are churches museums for the saints or hospitals for sinners? Are we fishers of men, or are we keepers of aquariums!?
Sometimes countries (including America) will fight the next war with tactics from the previous conflict. Brethren, what seemed to work in the 1980s and 90s are NOT working today. America is in the throes of death and simply having VBS and Weekend Gospel Sings, is woefully useless at this late hour. Even the trendy Seeker-sensitive churches are on the decline as Pagan darkness casts its shadow over our homes and religious freedoms. Why should God preserve our First Amendment Rights if we are not going to evangelize in the public forum?! The Great Awakening of the mid-eighteenth century was primarily in the fields and city squares, not behind denominational pulpits. If Baptists do not become more burdened, bold, and battle-ready will God raise up others?
I readily admit that I am less godly, less talented, and less diplomatic than many of my fellow Baptists. I say this with honest regret. God has not called me to be a role model for my fellow preachers, nor has He made me a reformer. But I say with tears of desperation, if Baptist preachers do not stop fussing with one another and hit the streets with the gospel, America IS GONE, and our generation of sleeping dog prophets will eventually be vilified!!!
When Baptist churches are persecuted, our buildings and properties are confiscated, maybe then God will apply the "Smelling Salts" and we will revive to resume the Original Intent of New Testament Christianity? We will not be so concerned about Easter Egg hunts and Christmas Cantatas, we will care about perishing sinners.
Sodom and Gomorrah is a perpetual monument of what God thinks of Sodomy. But maybe it was not all their fault? Why wasn't there ten righteous found in five cities, aye Lot??
Agreed our fight seems to be a losing one. Baptist churches are falling, saints are discouraged, and we are surrounded by a growing evil. Our resources are running out and reinforcements are slow in coming. What should we do!? FIX BAYONETS!!!!
"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" (Matthew 16:18).

The Normalcy
Of God
Dr. Ronnie Wolfe

We are always wondering what normal is, and it very difficult to figure it out. God, though, is the only normal being. Nothing changes with God. Mal 3:6 says, For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

That is why we must live "by the book," for His book, the Bible, reflects that normalcy; and it is given to us as our living standard, the only really normal truth and council that exists.

Every human being in the world is abnormal, taken back from innocence with our sin. Our depravity, our complete helplessness in satisfying God's normal, perfect justice, cannot meet God's normalcy, so we are completely at His mercy. Fortunately the Scripture tells us in Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

That great mercy once halted my sinful heart, opened it, Jesus came to dwell with me along with the Father and Holy Spirit, John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
