For years, our elected officials have tolerated state and local governments that ignore requests from federal agents to hand over dangerous illegal aliens. These governments include North Dakota, Rhode Island, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin (Travis County), Miami, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., New York City, Boston, Baltimore and more than 200 hundred others that may surprise you.
These places either rewrite the law to their liking or ignore it altogether, even though federal law REQUIRES them to turn over identified illegal aliens to ICE for deportation after the aliens have first served any local jail time. Sanctuary Cities are attempting to nullify federal law, saying "We won't do it, and you can't make us!"
But with your help, we can make them.
Sanctuary cities, counties and states across America, according to the Center for Immigration Studies.
Some cities, like Aurora, Colorado, Jefferson County, Iowa and San Francisco, California release onto the streets known criminal aliens like Juan Lopez-Sanchez, the Mexican national who was a multiple felon, had already been deported five times, and was STILL released by the city of San Francisco when he was in their custody, even though the feds were asking San Francisco to turn him over.
Lopez-Sanchez was released in April. Last week, he confessed to shooting 32-year old Kate Steinle on a pier in San Francisco. Steinle was standing next to her father, and her last words were pleas for her Dad to help her.
Her Dad tried, but nothing could save Kate. The city of San Francisco effectively decided her fate when they released a dangerous felon, five-times deported, onto their streets. Refusal to enforce the law killed her. The Obama Administration, in refusing to crack down on "Sanctuary Cities," helped set the stage. And this is not the only killing by a released illegal alien. Hardly. There were more than 120 killers released all over America in just the past few years.
The point is: why should any more people like Kate needlessly lose their lives because our elected officials fail to protect the citizens they vow to protect?

Look at the map above, put together by the Center for Immigration Studies. It shows more than 200 cities, counties and even a few states that have "Sanctuary" policies.These places are releasing known illegal-alien criminals, many of whom are dangerous felons, from jails and prisons directly onto the streets and into Americans' neighborhoods while willfully turning a blind eye as they continue their criminal ways.

We at NumbersUSA will NEVER accept this travesty. We have been working for years to shut down Sanctuary City policies, but now, these corrupt policies are finally getting the national attention and public discussion they deserve. Fortunately, we have many allies in Congress who are working hard to force "Sanctuary Cities" to hand over the illegal- alien criminals to Immigration Control and Enforcement (ICE) for deportation.
Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) in the House and Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) in the Senate have sponsored versions of the same bill that would accomplish this.PLUS, the bill would prevent the Obama Administration and future administrations from refusing to even pick up the alien criminals in jails who they do know about.
The Gowdy bill has already been approved by the House Judiciary Committee. It can be brought to the floor and passed whenever the House Republican Leadership decides to do so.
NumbersUSA needs to persuade them to pass this bill immediately! As usual, we need piles of faxes, deafening phone calls, and every other thing we know of.
This is all extremely EXPENSIVE. We are actually BEHIND in our minimum funding needs this month, when we need to be well AHEAD to get these bills passed.
