Recent activities

Last weekend, Marion and I attended an all day seminar on food preparation and preservation. It was OUTSTANDING. It was put on by some of our new friends in the Tacoma 912 Group here in town. Hours and hours and hours went into the preparation for this class and you can get a copy of the binder with all of the information in the class if you wish. I HIGHLY recommend it. Be prepared. Know how to survive if there is a natural or "man made" catastrophe in your neighborhood. The stores only have about three days of supplies on the shelf. What will happen if things are not under control by then? The material in this class tells how to safely and properly prepare and preserve enough for your family to survive without depending on someone else. There is a limited number of binders available (at cost)for $25.00. Let me know if you are interested and I can tie you in with the folks that put it together.

Last Monday Marion and I attended an all day seminar up in Bellevue, WA. sponsored by the "Family Policy Institute of Washington" on "Politics According to the Bible". It was also very good and I thank Pastor Perry Ames for telling me about it. The theme went very well with the monthly Bible Study we are having along these same lines.

Friday we attended the funeral of the son of a dear old friend of ours. It was difficult. Parents always feel that we should not have to attend the funeral of our children. It was good to see brother Art in our worship services today and we are continuing to pray for him as he grieves the loss of his son.

Saturday was "Community Clean up Day" and we got a lot accomplished around the old homestead here. We took two truck loads of junk to the dump and donation station that was set up near by and made at least a little dent in getting things in better order around here.

Same old STINK

The Daily Caller has learned that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) rate review rules, which it finalized on Thursday, exempt “Medigap” policy providers, like the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), from oversight when such providers increase payment rates for their supplemental insurance plans.

Insurance providers who aren’t exempt from Obamacare’s rate review rules are required to publicly release and explain some health care payment rate increases.

The AARP is the nation’s biggest seller of Medigap policies, or supplemental healthcare plans that add onto what Medicare won’t cover for seniors. The senior citizens interest group advocated for Obamacare to include an attack on Medigap policies’ biggest competitor, Medicare Advantage.

Though the White House and HHS dismiss allegations of political favoritism when it comes to who’s getting exceptions from the new health care regulations – such as in the recent uproar over the disproportionate number of Obamacare waivers that went to companies in House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s district — Obamacare critics say the mere appearance of the administration helping friends is disturbing.

2 more hits against bill of rights in California

A double-whammy came down today against gun rights advocates in California. First, the California Assembly voted to prohibit the open carry of unloaded handguns. Current law had allowed unloaded weapons to be carried openly in public.

"You are disarming our citizens" while doing little to disarm criminals, said Assemblyman Jim Nielsen, R-Gerber.

"It is not just the right to keep, it is the right to bear arms," said Assemblyman Tim Donnelly, R-Twin Peaks.

California Democrats had seized upon the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in the bill's introduction. Unable to pass a bill last year that accomplished the same goal, they brought a similar measure to the Assembly days after the Giffords tragedy in Arizona.

The second blow came (where else?) in a U.S. district coutroom, where a judge claimed that "there is no constitutional right to carry a handgun in public" - something that came as a surprise to Second Amendment lawyer Alan Gura, who litigated the case on the side of gun rights advocates.

Judge Morrison England, a Bush appointee, handed down the decision. The real irony, though? Judge England argued that, because California law allowed the open carry of unloaded weapons meant that gun rights advocates' concern for individual safety could be superceded. I wonder what he would have said if he knew, on this very day, that Democrats in the Assembly would be eliminating his rationale to overrule Californians' Second Amendment rights?

there they go again

Barack Obama and his allies in Congress are now resorting to extortion when it comes to granting Amnesty to millions of illegal aliens. Their latest ploy? Give us Amnesty and then we'll "talk" about constraining our out-of-control spending.

Seriously... We couldn't make this stuff up if we tried.

According to the Washington Examiner: "[Senator Dick] Durbin told Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ) on Fox Sunday News program that if the GOP passed the DREAM Act, Democrats would be more willing to talk about reducing the country’s spending habit."

Durbin added that when it comes to granting Amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, "we're not giving up" because NOT pushing the so-called DREAM Act down the throats of the American people "isn't what the American people want us to do. It isn't the American way."

And Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid chimed in on the DREAM Act as well and said that it's time to "rise up" and that the DREAM Act is "good for everybody.”

No Harry, it really isn’t. The American people have rejected it time and again. Yet, you still continue on and on about it like a broken record.

The DREAM Act is still bad for America, no matter how many times Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Dick Durbin try to ram it down our throats.

How Many Times Must We Fight This Battle?

The DREAM Act, like just about every other piece of legislation proposed by the radical left, is nothing less than snake oil.

On the surface, it sounds so caring... so good. Liberals preach to us that the DREAM Act is all about “helping people” and “providing a safety net.”

Harry Reid tells us that his DREAM Act is simply a means for the children of illegal aliens to further their education.

He admonishes us that it's simply not right to "punish" children for the "sins" of their parents.

But, as you should already know, what Harry Reid says and what is actually written in his legislation are often two entirely different things. And by now, we shouldn't have to tell you what's wrong with Harry Reid's so-called DREAM Act. You already know that it's a NIGHTMARE.

In short, Harry Reid's DREAM Act is just one more stealth attempt (in a long line of stealth attempts) to trick the American people into granting Amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.

It's an insult to hard-working Americans who play by the rules and submit themselves to the law and it's a slap in the face to the tens-of-thousands of people who come to our shores LEGALLY each and every year.

The DREAM Act Is Not Really Just for Children... IT GRANTS AMNESTY TO ADULTS.

If past versions of Harry Reid’s DREAM Act are any litmus to gauge what pro-amnesty advocates have in store for us, then buckle your seatbelts... we're in for a bumpy ride.

DREAM Act proponents pitch it as a means to legitimize the immigration status of the children of illegal aliens and grant those children residency and a path to citizenship as long as they attend college or enter the armed forces.

But the reality is this: The DREAM Act is not really for children... IT WOULD GRANT AMNESTY TO MILLIONS OF ILLEGAL ALIEN ADULTS AS WELL.

Previous incarnations of the DREAM Act specifically stipulated that anyone under the age of 35, who has resided illegally in the United States for at least five years, was eligible for amnesty under the Act.

DREAM also stipulated that the applicant only need be "admitted" to an institution of higher learning.

And, moreover, once an application was submitted, the applicant was given six years of permanent residence in the United States.

But, here's the big loophole that no one wanted to discuss back then. The version of the DREAM Act that Reid and Durbin pushed last fall did not actually require an amnesty applicant to produce valid evidence that he or she met the above criteria.

In other words... any applicant, under the age of 35, who had resided in this country for five years simply needed to enroll for a course at the local community college and bingo... they were in.

Of course, if the applicant had just crossed the border a few days prior... or if the applicant was actually over the age of 35... or if the applicant didn't want to go through the hassle of actually attending classes at the local community college.... that wasn't a problem... the applicant simply had to lie.

No one was going to check.

But wait... there's more. As previously stated, the last incarnation of the DREAM Act was a backdoor Amnesty for an even greater number of illegal aliens.

Mark Krikorian, writing in National Review Online, put the issue in perspective: "And for those who say the DREAM Act would be a small amnesty, for just a handful of 'kids,' the Migration Policy Institute, a pro-amnesty outfit, has estimated that 2.1 million illegal immigrants could benefit from it."

But the estimate of 2.1 million was just the tip of the iceberg, because once you awarded these "kids" a path to citizenship, welfare benefits and in-state tuition (legal aliens, by the way typically pay out-of-state tuition), we would have also given them the "right" to sponsor large numbers of their family members.

Essentially, the DREAM Act was (and still is) a back-door amnesty for just about every illegal alien presently in the United States and the millions who are just waiting to sneak across the border.

The DREAM Act Stinks To High Heaven

Using children as unwitting pawns in a devious game of political chess proves once again how low Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Dick Durbin and the pro-amnesty lobby are willing to sink to get their way.

The American people have rejected the DREAM Act on a number of occasions over the last several years. One would at least think that Reid and Durbin would have the decency to put their garbage on ice.

But true to form, these liberals never give up. Like the Energizer Bunny, they just keep going and going and going, oblivious to the fact that the American people have already said “NO” to amnesty.

Of course, is that not how they always behave? When Reid tried to ram his DREAM Act down our throats during last fall's lame duck session of Congress, Arizona Republican Rep. Jeff Flake said that “it was written as if the election in November never happened.”

Rush Limbaugh said: "They know exactly what they're doing, they're not tone deaf. They didn't miss anything. These people are bitter. They are bitter at having been defeated, and this is their revenge."

Limbaugh added: "They don't care about the country. This is all about them. It is all about the last gasp opportunity they have to infect and poison this country with their ideology and their ideas. They are destroying and hijacking this country right in front of our eyes. ... They don't care, folks, they don't care about the country, and they don't care about you."

And it would appear that they're still bitter. It's time to spike the DREAM Act once and for all.

Food Prep

Last Thursday I attended a meeting and saw a video moderated by David Barton and published by wallbuilders.com on the subject of our American Heritage and the Founding Fathers. I wish everyone in America could view this video. It documents with the "original Documents" that our Founding Fathers were devout men of God and outspoken Christians contrary to what we are spoon fed by modern revisionist historians.

Yesterday Marion and I attend an all day seminar on food preparation and preparedness for possible natural or man made catastrophes. It was put on by some of the folks (see pictures) in the Tacoma 912 Group here I am a member.

National Day of Prayer

Today is the 2011 National Day of Prayer.

Prior to the founding of our nation, the Continental Congress issued a proclamation recommending a "day of publick [sic] humiliation, fasting, and prayer" be observed on July 20, 1775.

During the Quasi-War with France, President John Adams declared May 9, 1798, a "day of solemn humility, fasting and prayer."

On March 30, 1863, Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation expressing the idea "that the awful calamity of civil war [sic] which now desolates the land, may be but a punishment inflicted upon us, for our presumptuous sins" and designated April 30, 1863 as a day of "national humiliation, fasting and prayer" in hopes that God would respond by restoring our "now divided and suffering country to its former happy condition of unity and peace. It is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all of history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord."

More recently, Billy Graham is attributed with the introduction of a national day of prayer, suggesting it in a multi-week crusade at the nation's capitol. Members of the House and Senate introduced a joint resolution for an annual National Day of Prayer "on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at church, in groups and as individuals." On April 17, 1952, President Harry S. Truman signed the bill.

In his 1983 declaration, President Ronald Reagan said, "From General Washington's struggle at Valley Forge to the present, this Nation fervently sought and received divine guidance as it pursued the course of history. This occasion provides our Nation an opportunity to further recognize the source of our blessings, and to seek His help for the challenges we face today and in the future."

The Green thing

In the line at the store, the cashier told the older woman that she should
bring her own grocery bag because plastic bags weren't good for the
environment.

The woman apologized to him and explained,
"We didn't have the green thing back in my day."

The clerk responded, "That's our problem today.
The former generation did not care enough to save our environment."

It is true, that generation didn't have the green thing in its day.

Back then, they returned their milk bottles,
soda bottles and beer bottles to the store.
The store sent them back to the plant to be washed
and sterilized and refilled,
so it could use the same bottles over and over.
So they really were recycled.

But they didn't have the green thing back in that day.

In her day, they walked up stairs,
because they didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. They walked to the grocery store and
didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine
every time they had to go two blocks.

But she was right. They didn't have the green thing in her day.

Back then, they washed the baby's diapers
because they didn't have the throw-away kind.
They dried clothes on a line,
not in an energy gobbling machine burning up 220 volts -
wind and solar power really did dry the clothes.
Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters,
not always brand-new clothing.

But that old lady is right, they didn't have the green thing back in her day.

Back then, they had one TV, or radio, in the house -
not a TV in every room.
And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief,
not a screen the size of the state of Montana.
In the kitchen, they blended and stirred by hand because
they didn't have electric machines to do everything for you.
When they packaged a fragile item to send in the mail,
they used a wadded up old newspaper to cushion it,
not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap.

Back then, they didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline
just to cut the lawn. They used a push mower that ran on human power.
They exercised by working so they didn't need to go to a health club
to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.

But they didn't have the green thing back then.

They drank from a fountain when they were thirsty
instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time
they had a drink of water.
They refilled their writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen,
and they replaced the razor blades in a razor
instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull.

But they didn't have the green thing back then.

Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus
and kids rode their bikes to school or walked
instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service.
They had one electrical outlet in a room,
not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances.
And they didn't need a computerized gadget
to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000 miles out in space
in order to find the nearest pizza joint.

But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful the old folks
were just because they didn't have the green thing back then?

TAX Day

Well, I drove down to the Capital today to participate in the Tax Day Tea Part Freedom Rally. The 2009 Rally was AMAZING. Last year It was about half as good. This year it was rainy, cold and gray but the core members of several Patriot Groups were there. Similar meetings were held around the state in various other cities so the attendance in Olympia wasn't as impressive as usual. But the leftists must be getting worried because there were some paid protesters that were bussed in to disrupt the speakers and chant "We Want Health Care". I took a few snapshots.

Prayin in America is .... OK!

A federal appeals court has ruled that the National Day of Prayer is legitimate, ordering that a lawsuit claiming the event is unconstitutional be dismissed.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation had filed the suit and U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb had ruled the federal government's observation of prayer unconstitutional, in spite of numerous U.S. Supreme Court rulings protecting religious invocations. That ruling was taken to the Seventh U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago where, as Liberty Institute attorney Jeff Mateer explains, the panel ruled Thursday that the atheist organization does not have legal standing to bring a challenge to the President's proclamation declaring a National Day of Prayer.

What the 7th Circuit [also] held was that in order for a plaintiff to bring a lawsuit challenging a law, they have to have sustained a real legal injury. They must have been harmed in some way. And the Foundation, was found to not be suffering.

Mateer also says the decision goes beyond the National Day of Prayer and the presidential proclamation. "What this decision means is that communities throughout our country that have National Day of Prayer ceremonies -- that those are perfectly constitutional, that they can proceed," says the attorney.

Liberty Institue says it "applaud[s] the Seventh Circuit's dismissal of this desperate attempt to erase our country's rich history of calling for prayer," labeling it another indication of attempts to "censor religious expression in the public arena."

This year's solemn event is May 5.

What a good writer can do...

It just all depends on how you look at some things..

Judy Wallman, a professional genealogy researcher in southern California , was doing some personal work on her own family tree.. She discovered that Senator Harry Reid's great-great uncle, Remus Reid, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889. Both Judy and Harry Reid share this common ancestor.

The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows in Montana territory:


On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is this inscription: 'Remus Reid, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.'

"Remus Reid was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory . His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. Congress by passed again

Citizens, we thought the DREAM Act was nothing to worry about - at least not yet considering that it FAILED to pass Congress this past winter. But it looks like our voices and the will of Congress no longer matters. The DREAM Act is in effect.

The Obama administration has declared the entire country a sanctuary for illegal immigrants.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano confessed earlier this month that the Obama administration will not deport illegal-alien students who would have fallen under the protected of the failed DREAM Act, the amnesty program for illegal aliens under the guise of immigration reform.

At a webinar and roundtable on border issues sponsored by a leftist think tank, she said, “I will say, and can say, that you know what? They are not, that group, if they truly meet all those criteria, and we see very few of them actually in the immigration system, if they truly meet those [criteria], they’re not the priority.”

In other words, the DREAM Act is now determining deportation even though Congress did not pass it.

Barack Obama and his Democrat cronies could have passed a budget when they had complete control of both houses of Congress. They didn't need one Republican vote to do so, but they didn't - because their budget was full of pork that they knew the American people would not accept.

After they took a licking in the November, 2010 midterm elections, Democrats had to scramble to ram through last-minute, ridiculous legislation before Republicans came in and took over the House. That took their focus off the country's fiscal crisis and enabled them to pass the buck to the next Congress.

After failing to come to a deal with the President on Tuesday, Boehner said "the House will not be put in a box and forced to choose between two options that are bad for the country." Those two options are a government shutdown and inadequate spending cuts.


Democrats would rather fund NPR ... and Planned Parenthood ... and Cowboy Poetry Festivals. The Republicans need our support - and the every Member of Congress needs to know that if they ignore the will of the people and continue spending our country into oblivion, they will be OUT OF A JOB.

A recent Government Accountability Office (GAO) estimate found over $200 billion in federal spending that could easily be trimmed. The GAO report identifies 34 areas where duplicate programs in the federal government are operated across agencies and bureaucracies, and 47 other areas where money could easily be saved.

Conservative Unity in America

The Tea Party Grass Roots Movement is now over 2 years old. There are Tea Party Groups, 9/12er’s, Libertarians, and numerous other variations all vying for attention. We have all heard the backbiting and sniping from one group about another, the refusal to work together on an event, the suspicious agendas being pushed by some national organizations, and on and on. We tend to have our own ideas on how to achieve “victory”, and discount any that don't conform to that model. We can't afford this splintering of the movement. We have to unite for events and causes that matter to all of us, while maintaining our independent groups with our own agendas and events


If there is one over-riding theme that binds all of us engaged in the “Tea Party” movement, it should be the restoration of our Constitutional Republic. Anything that moves us toward that goal should be embraced. Anything that distracts us from that goal, or worse, moves us away from that goal, should be called out, identified, and summarily pushed aside as we work to save our nation.

Our movement is still in the early stages. Many of us know that ours is a necessary effort that must be undertaken if our nation is to survive.

Where this goes is up to us.

We suffer a wealth of diverse ideas and motivations in the grass roots. Some groups focus on activism, some on education, spiritual or historical perspectives. There are the groups whose primary focus in on reducing the size of government, while others want to work within the current political structure, but just tweak it a little in their direction. Some have been in this struggle for years, but we all owe a debt of gratitude to the Obama regime for galvanizing us with their arrogant excesses.

It took many decades to arrive at where we are now. The opposition, through incremental changes over the years, has slowly eroded the foundations of our system. They used the term “chipping away” with the knowledge that radical change is automatically resisted by the populace, instead implementing their agenda one small step at a time. Many of us knew of these changes, but felt powerless to stop them. Besides, we were too busy with our jobs, families, entertainment, and pursuits to get involved. We let the political class run this fight and wondered why our side kept losing.

We have all heard from the discouraged naysayers; they went to a rally, voiced their opinion, but nothing changed, or it didn’t change fast enough. To prevail, we must get past our inclination towards instant gratification. We think like the 30 minute TV shows we grew up with, everything could be solved within a short time span. Impatience is our primary enemy, wanting it all solved NOW. Learn to happily accept the victories we can get, as long as it moves us closer to our goal. This may take longer than many of our lifetimes to achieve, because this began long before many of us were born.

Just as the opposition would have been pushed off the cliff had they tried their move too early, we have to understand that there is an entire generation that has been educated to think like serfs. Their only source of information is their friends, pop culture, and occasional snippet of news from the main stream media. They will reject our message with barely a second thought. They think of government as their main provider of all things good.

We have no chance of reaching them because it doesn't fit the template they have grown up with. We are now considered to be the “radicals” threatening their way of life. As parents, grandparents, friends and neighbors, we have to find methods that work best for each of us to reach out to those around us. With love, gentleness, and patient argument, we each have to wake up just enough people to “see the light” to make a huge difference in the elected representatives of our various local governments.

We must look past any differences we may have in our methods, our teachings, and our basic philosophies, and be reminded of what we are really here to do. When I joined the military, I took an oath to “..uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;…”. Even though I am no longer active military, my oath does not have an expiration date.

We must unite, as conservative Americans, to work together towards the goal of reclaiming our Constitutional Representative Republic. We all basically want the same thing. In our individual groups, we gather with people who understand the wonderful country we live in. We work at the grassroots level to bring change from below. When circumstances require it, we must stand together and show the world our unified front.

Marion and I were privileged to attend an awards benefit and breakfast where one of our church members, Sister Gail Russell, received an award for her volunteer work in Pierce Count working with young people in the 4H.

Our trip last week down to Roseville, California went well even though it was very nasty weather in the mountains on the trip down. The Bible Conference at Landmark Baptist Church in Roseville was excellent. The theme was "Rejoice in the Lord" and we did that. I preached on "Dealing with the Joy Robbers"

Our First Friday Fellowship Meeting on April Fools went well and we enjoyed hearing Elder Ted Tweet from Decatur, Alabama preach a message on the Lost man's need of the Gospel.

Saturday we walked in the MS Walk over in Kitsap County and visited with Mom, and family. Our Sunday services at TLBC went well. Personally, I don't even care for the Catholic stamps that they put out at certain times of the year. Another friend told me this is a hoax. The minister was preoccupied with thoughts of how he was going to ask the congregation to come up with more money than they were expecting for repairs to the church building. Therefore, he was annoyed to find that the regular organist was sick and a substitute had been brought in at the last minute.

The substitute wanted to know what to play.

' Here's a copy of the service,' he said impatiently. 'But, you'll have

to think of something to play after I make the announcement about the finances.'

During the service, the minister paused and said, 'Brothers and Sisters, we are in great difficulty; the roof repairs cost twice as much as we expected and we need $4,000 more. Any of you who can pledge $100 or more, please stand up'.

At that moment, the substitute organist played 'The Star Spangled Banner.'

And that is how the substitute became the regular organist!

Jane Russell was Pro-Life

SANTA MARIA, California, March 1, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Several decades after an abortion left Jane Russell unable to bear children and spurred her to become an outspoken pro-lifer and adoption advocate, the silver screen beauty died yesterday at the age of 89. In lieu of flowers, the family of the born-again Christian actress is asking for donations in her honor to Care Net, a pro-life pregnancy resource center network.

Jane Russell, the brunette bombshell of the films The Tall Men and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, whose image became a popular pinup for World War II servicemen, passed away of respiratory failure at her Santa Maria home Monday.

Leading a wild lifestyle early on, Russell later became, in her words, “a teetotal, mean-spirited, right-wing, narrow-minded, conservative Christian bigot” - but not before an illegal abortion caused her to lose her fertility.

The experience, which she says nearly killed her, led her to become outspoken about abortion, denying that any circumstance - rape or incest included - justified taking the life of an unborn child.

“People should never, ever have an abortion. Don’t talk to me about it being a woman’s right to choose what she does with her own body. The choice is between life and death,” Russell declared in one quotation widely attributed to her.

In another quotation cited by IMDB.com, Russell said that when she found herself pregnant at 18, “The only solution was to find a quack and get an abortion. I had a botched abortion and it was terrible. Afterwards my own doctor said, ‘What butcher did this to you?’ I had to be taken to hospital. I was so ill I nearly died. I’ve never known pain like it.”

Even decades after the procedure was made legal in America, loss of fertility remains a common side effect of abortions: post-abortive women telling their stories through Silent No More Awareness frequently testify to losing the ability to bear children as a consequence of their abortions.

Her struggle conceiving led Russell to adopt three children and to found the World Adoption International Fund in 1955. She also started the ‘Hollywood Christian Group,’ a weekly Bible study she hosted at her house for Christians in the film industry. Russell, who divorced once and was married two more times, is survived by her three children, six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

After confirming her death on Monday, her family suggested that donations be made in her name to Care Net Pregnancy & Resource Center at 121 W. Battles, Santa Maria, CA, as well as CASA of Santa Barbara County, a group that helps abused children find a court advocate.

Care Net, which oversees a nationwide network of 1,100 pregnancy centers, specializes in helping women facing unplanned pregnancies by providing practical help as well as emotional support.

A great man was born 279 years ago.

George Washington was a freedom fighter, a leader, and one of our greatest Presidents. But, much of General Washington's greatness was marked not by what he did, but by what he chose not to do.

He could have been a King.

Instead, he stood for Liberty and stepped aside after eight years, allowing our young Republic to grow into the greatest nation in Human history.

2012 offers our movement a tremendous opportunity. Our nation is beset with crippling debt, an out of control federal government, and a foreign policy that weakens our national defense and isolates us from the world.

But with hard work and determination, we can change course and turn our country back toward Liberty and all of its rewards.

Quite frankly, we need to elect a President in 2012 who will do a lot less: less meddling in the economy, less spending, less warrantless ransacking, less bailing out of Wall Street, less inflating, and less foreign aid and overseas intervention.

We need a President who will respect our Constitution, not someone who simply pays lip service to our traditions.

Because I want a President who does so much less, a lot of people ask me if this means I want a weak President.

My answer is "No!" I want a strong President - a President like George Washington.

I want a President strong enough NOT to take power he should not have.

By now I am sure that you have seen the news reports or the very disturbing videos shot undercover by the pro-life group Live Action in several Planned Parenthood facilities. In multiple videos we see different Planned Parenthood employees:

— offering to facilitate the “health” needs of girls as young as 14 who are being sexually trafficked;

— offering to assist in arranging abortions for underage girls;

— advising on how to bypass legal age requirements for various “health” services;

— giving a pimp pointers on how quickly he can get underage girls back on the “street” after an abortion; and

— providing tips on how to obtain insurance through public health assistance or taxpayer funded programs for abortions.

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli called the videos “shocking.” U.S. Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) called Planned Parenthood’s “duplicity and potential criminality” an outrage. Pence also stated:

The time to deny any and all funding to Planned Parenthood is now. In the wake of yet another scandal involving Planned Parenthood, I urge Congress to move the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act to the floor for immediate consideration.

Last Week

We had a glorious week last week with a guest speaker holding services with us at TLBC nightly in celebration of our 31st Anniversary as a New Testament Congregation. Brother Mike Prater and his wife Mary Jane visited us from Granite Bay, California. Elder Prater preached several fine sermons. We pray for the turmoil in Egypt to be resolved according to the will of God. It is encouraging to see some common sense shown by the latest Federal Court verdict regarding the unconstitutional health care reform bill that was crammed through last year against the will of "We the People".

I am sending another letter to my Senators and Congressman on the Illegal Immigration issue (for what good it will do). They seldom listen to my input. If you are as concerned as I am about this issue please feel free to clip and past the following and sent it to your two Senators and your Congressman too.

Dear Senator and Representative,

Now is the time to pass legislation to correct the precedents that have blighted our nation with the "anchor baby" and "birth tourism" welcome mat that invites illegality and is cheapening the sanctity of U.S. citizenship.

We have witnessed the unconstitutional failure to provide a secure border under the "leadership" of present political elitists that resulted in a sharp rise in violence and the deaths of both American civilians and U.S. Border Agents by drug smugglers, international criminal cartels, and illegal immigrant gangs.

This "open borders" Administration may well prove to be one of the most blatant violators of U.S. immigration law to ever occupy high public office.
We must plug the hole and stop turning a blind eye to the illegal usurpers of U.S. Citizenship. If someone wants a part of the American "DREAM" we should not reward the breaking of our immigration laws. Illegals should be sent home so they can go to the end of the line and wait their turn like those who enter our country properly. This is a basic principle that most people learn before they are six years old.

Friday I went over to accompany my Mom and Sister to the Group Health Neurologist Dr. appointment. It went well. My annual physical with my family Dr. also went pretty good. We are still waiting on the blood work to come back from the LAB. Saturday my brother-in-law and I attended an all day Seminal up at the Double Tree Inn at SeaTac put on by the Evergreen Freedom Foundation. It had to do with training on how to communicate effectively with your elected officials. It was a good day. They have a BLOG too and you can check them out by going HERE.

We had a good day at TLBC today. Brother Turner did not teach the Sunday school lesson. He was still recovering from the surgeries that he had removing melanoma cancer. We thank the Lord for answered prayer on this and that the Dr. gave a good report after the two operations. I taught on "Landmark Truth". The morning sermon was on "What is the Gospel?" and the afternoon service was on "The Defilement around Noah". To see the study outlines and hear the AUDIO clips click HERE.

Unexplained Shooting.

Our prayers go up for the folks in Tuscon, Arizona
that suffered the loss of loved ones due to the
shooting spree of a left wing loner that the media is
saying had mental problems and we are praying for the
wounded that survived the violence.

The First Friday Fellowship went well last
Friday night. We opened the AP Box and read
the answered prayers that were in it for the
year 2010. We had over 131 AP's in the Box.

I finished the study of the Book of Revelation
today in our Sunday school hour at TLBC and preached
on how the Ephesus Body was a local New Testament
Congregation in the AM Services. The outlines are

Arizona governor vs. Phoenix Suns owner


The owner of the Phoenix Suns basketball team,
Robert Sarver, opposes AZ's new immigration laws.
Arizona 's Governor, Jan Brewer, released the following
statement in response to Sarver's criticism of the new law:

"What if the owners of the Suns discovered that hordes
of people were sneaking into games without paying?
What if they had a good idea who the gate-crashers are,
but the ushers and security personnel were not allowed to
ask these folks to produce their ticket stubs,
thus non-paying attendees couldn't be ejected. Furthermore,
what if Suns' ownership was expected to provide those who
sneaked in with complimentary eats and drink? And what if,
on those days when a gate-crasher became ill or injured,
the Suns had to provide free medical care and shelter?"
