Monday is Veterans Day.

Thank You Veterans

I want to thank every man and woman who has given
time, effort, sweat, tears, loneliness, sacrifice, pain, sorrow,
patriotism, loyalty, love, bravery, and faith to their
work in keeping America safe and for giving us something
to live for, to fight for, to love for, and to believe in.
God is the first harbinger of all our blessings; and if
we lose our faith in Him, we shall perish. But with our
heads lifted high toward Heaven and our hearts stayed on
His purpose and our minds surrendered to His will, we
can have days ahead as we remember them in the past.
Many are fighting and some have died that I may
have the liberty to preach the Gospel. Thanks to those
who have been willing to do so. Let us always remember
and never forget that the service of our young in battle is
paramount to our being a free country. Let freedom ring!

Thank You, Veterans
It is the VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us
freedom of religion.

It is the VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us
freedom of the press.

It is the VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us
freedom of speech.

It is the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us
freedom to assemble.

It is the VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us
the right to a fair trial.

It is the VETERAN,
not the politician,
Who has given us
the right to vote.

A Blessed Day

It shall be well with you today. READ ON. No matter how much your enemies try, they will not succeed. You have been destined to make it and you shall surely achieve all your goals today. Your problems will enter Call Blocking, your enemies will have network problems and their bad wishes for you will enter into junk mail. All your agonies will be diverted and victory and prosperity will be your incoming calls. Heaven has confirmed today the end of your sufferings sorrows and pains because HE that sits on the throne has remembered you. HE has taken away the hardships and given you JOY. HE will never let you down. I knocked at heavens door this morning, and I said, FATHER, please protect and bless the person reading this message... GOD answered... Request granted.

Have a Blessed Day!!

Good services at TLBC today. See website: http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com

Turners are in Idaho and won't be home until after next Lord's Day. Marion and I were in Tahoe for a couple of days earlier in the week. It was nice but would have been nicer if Marion had been feeling better. I took her and Mom to the Dr. on Friday for the colds, coughing and congestion that they had. They are doing better now. Tomorrow our 7yr old granddaughter goes in to have her tonsels removed. Pray for her.

I almost came down with the community cold that everyone has (last Monday) but I slugged down some extra Body Balance, Tahebo, and Coloidal Silver with some Zink cough drops and it went away. Not BAD! I can still claim that I have only had ONE cold since I started taking the Life Force products back in 2003. I highly recommend that you try a free quart of Body Balance at this LINK: http://tinyurl.com/9c36q

Blue Ribbon

A teacher in New York decided to honor each of her seniors in High School by telling them the difference each of them had made. She called each student to the front of the class, one at a time.
First, she told each of them how they had made a difference to her, and the class. Then she presented each of them with a blue ribbon, imprinted with gold letters, which read, "Who I Am Makes a Difference." Afterwards, the teacher decided to do a class project, to see what kind of impact recognition would have on a Community. She gave each of the students three more blue ribbons, and instructed them to go out and spread this acknowledgment ceremony. Then they were to follow up on the results, see who honored whom and report back to the class in about a week.
One of the boys in the class went to a junior executive in a nearby Company, and honored him for helping him with his career planning. He gave him a blue ribbon, and put it on his shirt. Then he gave him two extra ribbons and said, "We're doing a class project on recognition, and we'd like for you to go out, find somebody to honor, give them a blue ribbon, then give them the extra blue ribbon so they can acknowledge a third person, to keep this acknowledgment ceremony going. Then please report back to me and tell me what happened."
Later that day, the junior executive went in to see his boss, who had been noted, by the way, as being kind of a grouchy fellow. He sat his boss down, and he told him that he deeply admired him for being a creative genius. The boss seemed very surprised. The junior executive asked him if he would accept the gift of the blue ribbon, and would he give him permission to put it on him. His surprised boss said, "Well, sure." The junior executive took the blue ribbon and placed it right on his boss's jacket, above his heart. As he gave him the last extra ribbon, he said, "Would you take this extra ribbon, and pass it on by honoring somebody else? The young boy who first gave me the ribbons is doing a project in school, and we want to keep this recognition ceremony going and find out how it affects people."
That night, the boss came home to his 14-year-old son, and sat him down. He said, "The most incredible thing happened to me today. I was in my office, and one of the junior executives came in and told me he admired me, and gave me a blue ribbon for being a creative genius. Imagine! He thinks I'm a creative genius! Then he put this blue ribbon that says, "Who I Am Makes a Difference", on my jacket above my heart. He gave me an extra ribbon and asked me to find somebody else to honor.
As I was driving home tonight, I started thinking about whom I would honor with this ribbon, and I thought about you. I want to honor you. My days are really hectic and when I come home, I don't pay a lot of attention to you. Sometimes I scream at you for not getting good enough grades in school, and for your bedroom being a mess. But somehow tonight, I just wanted to sit here and, well, just let you know that you do make a difference to me. Besides your mother, you are the most important person in my life. You're a great kid, and I love you!"
The startled boy started to sob and sob, and he couldn't stop crying. His whole body shook. He looked up at his father and said through his tears, "Dad, earlier tonight I sat in my room and wrote a letter to you and Mom, explaining why I had killed myself, and I asked you to forgive me. I was going to commit suicide tonight after you were asleep. I just didn't think that you cared at all. The letter is upstairs. I don't think I need it after all." His father walked upstairs and found a heartfelt letter full of anguish and pain. The boss went back to work a changed man. He was no longer a grouch, but made sure to let all of his employees know that they made a difference.
The junior executive helped several other young people with career planning, and never forgot to let them know that they made a difference in his life......one being the boss' son. And the young boy and his classmates learned a valuable lesson, "Who you are DOES make a difference".

There were still a lot out sick today in church. My sermon was on "How To Defeat Satans Attacks On Your Home" (outline on front page) http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com/ Marion has come down with the community cold that is going around. I have a slight tickle in my throat. Hope it does not hinder our enjoyment of our little get away this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday a Lake Tahoe.

Shipwreck

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him. Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect himself from the elements, and to store his few possessions.

One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky. He felt the worst had happened, and everything was lost. He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger. He cried out, "God, how could you do this to me?"

Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island! It had come to rescue him! "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

The moral of this story: it's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of our pain and suffering. Remember that the next time your little hut seems to be burning to the ground. It just may be a smoke signal that summons the Grace of God. Romans 8:28

Very small group in prayer meeting tonight. Lots of folks down with colds. Brother Long has his passport renewed for our trip to Ukraine but we must delay the trip until December now due to a hernia surgery needed on one of Alex's sons.

Marion and I are leaving next Tuesday for two nights and three days at Lake Tahoe. This is a late celebration of our 42nd anniversary. We hope to visit sister Cookie in a Reno hospital while we are there after her hip replacement surgery.

GOD and the spider

Quotation of the Day:

Defeat may test you; it need not stop you. If at first you don't succeed, try another way. For every obstacle there is a solution. Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. The greatest mistake is giving up.-- Anonymous

See our church website for the latest report on our worship services at TLBC. http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com/

It was good to have one of Mom's neighbors in the SHAG apartment, Lakewood Meadows, in church today as a first time visitor. Most of the regulars were there. Some are still out sick and some are too busy with the things of the world to be in the Lord's house.

God and the Spider

During World War II, a US marine was separated from his unit on a Pacific island. The fighting had been intense, and in the smoke and the crossfire he had lost touch with his comrades. Alone in the jungle, he could hear enemy soldiers coming in his direction. Scrambling for cover, he found his way up a high ridge to several small caves in the rock. Quickly he crawled inside one of the caves. Although safe for the moment, he realized that once the enemy soldiers looking for him swept up the ridge, they would quickly search all the caves and he would be killed.

As he waited, he prayed, "Lord, if it be your will, please protect me. Whatever your will though, I love you and trust you. Amen."

After praying, he lay quietly listening to the enemy begin to draw close. He thought, "Well, I guess the Lord isn't going to help me out of this one."! Then he saw a spider begin to build a web over the front of his cave.

As he watched, listening to the enemy searching for him all the while, the spider layered strand after strand of web across the opening of the cave. "Hah," he thought. "What I need is a brickwall and what theLord has sent me is a spider web. God does have a sense of humor."

As the enemy drew closer he watched from the darkness of his hideout and could see them searching one cave after another. As they came to his, he got ready to make his last stand. To his amazement, however, after glancing in the direction of his cave, they moved on. Suddeny, he realized that with the spider web over the entrance, his cave looked as if no one had entered for quite a while. "Lord, forgive me," prayed the young man. "I had forgotten that in you a spider's web is stronger than a brick wall."

We all face times of great trouble. When we do, it is so easy to forget the victories that God would work in our lives, sometimes in the most surprising ways. As the great leader, Nehemiah, reminded the people of Israel when they faced the task of rebuilding Jerusalem, "In God we will have success!" [Nehemiah 2:20]

Remember: Whatever is happening in your life, with God, a mere spider's web can become a brick wall of protection. Believe He is with you always. Just speak His name through Jesus His son, and you will see His great power and love for you.

Children

Several were missing in church today due to illness. That seems to happen every year around this time (a few weeks after school starts up again). My sermon this morning was on "Famous Last Words". See the outline here : http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com/

We have added another page on our church website called Click and Listen. Click the link in the blue section on the left of the front page. Our plans are to make some old time sermons available that were preached by brethren who have gone on home to be with the Lord. May the Lord bless them to your listening pleasure and to the benefit of your soul.

To those of us who have children in our lives, whether they are our own, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or students...here is something to make you chuckle. Whenever your children are out of control, you can take comfort from the thought that even God's omnipotence did not extend to His own children. After creating heaven and earth, God created Adam and Eve. And the first thing he said was "DON'T!"
Keep Scrolling "Don't what?" Adam replied.

"Don't eat the forbidden fruit." God said.

"Forbidden fruit? We have forbidden fruit? Hey Eve..we have forbidden fruit!!!!!"

"No Way!"

"Yes way!"

"Do NOT eat the fruit!" said God.

"Why"

"Because I am your Father and I said so!" God replied, wondering why He hadn't stopped creation after making the elephants. A few minutes later, God saw His children having an apple break and He was angry! "Didn't I tell you not to eat the fruit?" God asked.

"Uh huh," Adam replied.

"Then why did you?" said the Father.

"I don't know," said Eve.

"She started it!" Adam said

"Did not!"

"Did too!"

"DID NOT!"

Having had it with the two of them, God's punishment was that Adam and Eve should have children of their own. Thus the pattern was set and it has never changed.

BUT THERE IS REASSURANCE IN THE STORY! If you have persistently and lovingly tried to give children wisdom and they haven't taken it, don't be hard on yourself. If God had trouble raising children, what makes you think it would be a piece of cake for you?

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT!
1. You spend the first two years of their life teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next sixteen telling them to sit down and shut up.

2. Grandchildren are God's reward for not killing your own children.

3. Mothers of teens now know why some animals eat their young.

4. Children seldom misquote you. In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said.

5. The main purpose of holding children's parties is to remind yourself that there are children more awful than your own.

6. We childproofed our homes, but they are still getting in.

Travel Partner

Church Bulletin

"A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
that a man should have to seek Him first to find her."
====================================

Good prayer meeting last night at TLBC.
Tuesday was Marion and my 42nd Anniversary.
Turners took us out to the Country Buffet and
we have plane tickets, car rental and reservations
for a three day stay in a Resort at Lake Tahoe near
Reno the end of the month.
===================================

I have a travel partner for the trip to the Ukraine
but his passport has expired and we need to wait
for it to get renewed. Brother Ken Long, Pastor of
a church in Louisville, KY will be going with me.
Brother Long and I traveled together back in 1995
when we spent two weeks in Siberia exploring for a
missionary endeavor at that time.
==================================

I heard today that Brother Elton Wilson went home
to be with the Lord. Brother Wilson was my Pastor
back in 1974 to 1978 when I attended Clarksville Baptist
College in Clarksville, TN. He was a man that was used
of God in the lives of many people. Rest in Peace.

3rd Quarter 07 at TLBC

We had a dozen in church today at TLBC. Sermon outline "Salvation on Trial" is on the front page of our church website: http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com/

This is our Newsletter and Quarterly Report for the 3rd quarter of 2007. We finished studying the Law, the Five Points of Grace and Pastor has preached on a variety of topical sermons. See our church website for the outlines of the latest sermons preached on Sunday mornings. In our afternoon services we continue to study a survey of things in the New Testament.

Pastor traveled to Troy, Michigan for the Bible Conference at Covenant Baptist Church and had a wonderful time of fellowship with the brethren there. We also enjoyed a wonderful Labor Day Bible Conference at SPMBC in Seattle. Our Missionary to Ireland, Robert Ellis and his wife Dee and their daughter Leta were here too and we enjoyed their stay with us very much.

Sister Marion is recovering more slowly now from her compression fracture in her back and Pastor has also developed back and leg (sciatic nerve) pain in sympathy for his dear bride. Pray that they would both be able to cut back on their Ibuprofen soon. We have been in communication with a group of believers in the Ukraine since early August and there is a good possibility that Pastor will be taking a trip there to teach, baptize, ordain an elder and organize a church in the near future. Please pray about this possibility too.

Our church attendance still needs improvement. We canvas the neighborhood around the meeting place using several different gospel tracts we ordered from Elder Wilbert Ellis in Florence, Kentucky. People here have very little concern about spiritual truth from the Bible. Our membership is aging and becoming less able to get out and about so we are praying for divine leadership on other ways to let folks know about our services.

Our Missionaries are doing well and we receive good reports from them. There are several new visitors in the work in Ireland and two have followed the Lord in baptism. The mission in Northwestern Mindanao is still working on the building program as finances allow and brother Baldemor, who is now in his eighties, faithfully labors to minister to them and other preaching points but is hindered at times due to transportation needs.

Pastor preached a wedding and a funeral in July. Sister Maxine’s son Donnie passed away from liver cancer. One of Pastor’s cousins is in hospice care with cancer. Brother Skip is still battling complications from diabetes. Brother Turner has retired from his secular job. Sisters Joan, Cookie and Sue encourage us from a distance. Sister Sue says she hopes to return to Washington sometime next year. Lloyd was here for the Labor Day Conference but we haven’t heard from him since his return to Texas. Brandon writes from time to time and we never hear from Tom.

Thanks again to those who faithfully remember us in prayer. We need it. We love you in the Lord. Pray for our children and grand children. Pray that God would be pleased in His sovereign grace to save the lost and ad the saved to the church.

THE OLD PATHS

Preached on Eternal Security at TLBC today. Sermon Outline on front page of Church Website: http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com/
Gettng ready for a trip to Ukraine. See details on the prayer page of our church website under Pastors possible trip to Ukraine....
THE OLD PATHS
I liked the old paths, when Moms were at home. Dads were at work. Brothers went into the army. And sisters got married BEFORE having children! Crime did not pay; Hard work did; And people knew the difference. Moms could cook; Dads would work; Children would behave. Husbands were loving; Wives were supportive; And children were polite. Women wore the jewelry; And Men wore the pants. Women looked like ladies; Men looked like gentlemen; And children looked decent. People loved the truth, And hated a lie; They came to church to worship, Not to be entertained! Hymns sounded Godly; Sermons sounded helpful; Rejoicing sounded normal; And crying sounded sincere. Cursing was wicked; Drugs were for illness; And divorce was unthinkable. The flag was honored; America was beautiful; And God was welcome! We read the Bible in public; Prayed in school; And preached from house to house To be called an American was worth dying for; To be called a Christian was worth living for; To be called a traitor was a shame! Preachers preached because they had a message; And Christians rejoiced because they had the VICTORY! Preachers preached from the Bible; Singers sang from the heart; And sinners turned to the Lord to be SAVED! A new birth meant a new life; Salvation meant a changed life; Following Christ evidenced eternal life. Being a preacher meant you proclaimed the word of God; Being a deacon meant you would serve the Lord; Being a Christian meant you would live for Jesus; And being a sinner meant someone was praying for you! Laws were based on the Bible; Homes read the Bible; And churches taught the Bible. God was worshiped; Christ was exalted; And the Holy Spirit was respected.. Church was where you found Christians on the Lord's day, rather than in the garden, at the camp site, on the golf course, fishing or being entertained somewhere else. I still like the old paths the best!

Best "JOKE" of the year...

Best Joke of the year......

A Somali arrives in Minneapolis as a new immigrant to the United States. He stops the first person he sees walking down the street and says, "Thank you Mr. American for letting me in this country, giving me housing, food stamps, free medical care, and free education!" The passerby says, "You are mistaken, I am Mexican."

The man goes on and encounters another passerby. "Thank you for having such a beautiful country here in America!" The person says, "I not American, I Vietnamese."

The new arrival walks further, and the next person he sees he stops, shakes his hand and says, "Thank you for the wonderful America!" That person puts up his hand and says, "I am from Middle East, I am not American!"

He finally sees a nice lady and asks, "Are you an American?" She says, "No, I am from Russia!" Puzzled, he asks her, "Where are all the Americans?" The Russian lady checks her watch and says...

"Probably at work."

There was a sweet spirit in our prayer meeting services last night at TLBC. We are still praying about a possible missionary endeavor with regard to organizing a sister church in the Ukraine. For more details please look at the prayer request (Pastor's possible trip to the Ukraine) on the prayer page of our church website. http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com

Two Timely Quotes from years gone by

Attendance was WAY down today in our worship services here at TLBC. My sermon was on "Irresistible Grace". Outline is on the front page of our church website: http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com

We are looking into the possbiity of adding some sermons to our church website that can be viewed via streaming media. More to come on that.

"It appears we have appointed our worst generals to command forces, and our most gifted and brilliant to edit newspapers. In fact, I discovered by reading newspapers that these editor/geniuses plainly saw all my strategic defects from the start, yet failed to inform me until it was too late. Accordingly, I am readily willing to yield my command to these obviously superior intellects, and I will, in turn, do my best for the Cause by writing editorials - after the fact." - Robert E. Getting back to normal

Our Missionaries to Ireland made it back home OK and so did our guests from Texas, Oklahoma and California. Things were getting back to normal in our services today at TLBC. I resumed my study on the five points of tulip. Today's sermon outline is on the front page of our church website: http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com/

I'll be traveling to Troy, Michigan this Tuesday for the Bible Conference there at the Covenant Baptist Church where Bill Senich is Pastor. Tommorow I have an appontment with the Chiropracter and am hoping he can relieve my sciatic pain for the trip. I'd appreciate your prayers if you are one of the few who have access to the throne room of our sovereign God.

Now that school is started for another year it won't be long before colds and the flu will be going around everywhere. I have only had ONE cold since I started taking the Life Force products back in the summer of 2003. I highly recommend that you try a free sample of Body Balance by clicking the link below. For the free sample, you will need to agree to pay for the shipping and register for an auto shipment. I'd love to have you as one of my loyal customers. http://tinyurl.com/9c36q

No Free Lunch

No Free lunch

There was a Chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the Prof noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist government. In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked, " Do you know how to catch wild pigs?" The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke."You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in The last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity. The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening to America. The government keeps pushing us toward communism/socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we continually lose our freedoms- just a little at a time. One should always remember "There is no such thing as a free Lunch!"

Eating Right.

I went to the doctor for my yearly physical.

My blood pressure was high, my cholesterol was high,

and I'd gained some weight.

My doctor said eating right doesn't have to be complicated

and it would solve my physical problems. He said just think

in colors; fill your plate with bright colors; greens, yellows,

reds, etc.

I went right home and ate an entire bowl of M&M's and

sure enough, I felt better immediately.

I never knew eating right could be so easy.

We had another good day in church today at TLBC.

My sermon was on "Unconditional Election" and the outline

is on the front page of our church website:

Our Ireland Missionary family is due back from their trip to

Kentucky this Tuesday. My uncle LJ leaves early Wednesday

morning on Amtrak and the Ellis family will fly out of SeaTac

for Ireland that evening.

I'm presently communicating with a brother in Christ in the Ukraine.

Without giving a lot of details I'll just say that there is a good possibility

that I may be taking a trip to the Ukraine before the end of the year.

=================================

I haven't done much on my home biz in the last couple of weeks but that

is one of the nice things about it.
I STILL got a check in the mail anyway.

Visitors from Ireland and Oklahoma

I'm a little behind on my Blog. Our Missionary and his wife and daughter were here on furlough from Ireland and we enjoyed their visit very much. He preached for us last Lords Day.

We also enjoyed a grand Bible Conference in Seattle over the Labor Day weekend.

My uncle LJ from Watonga, Oklahoma also came for a visit. LJ is the youngest of eight children and my Mom is the oldest of the eight. We all had a fine time out at my sister's house and enjoyed fresh salmon hot off the BBQ.

Our grandson Bailey also had his first day in the first grade

and as you can see he is very proud of it.

More to follow.

Lighthouse

Last Tuesday Marion and I took a trip to Long Beach, Washington for the Annual International Kite Festival. It didn't seem as large as last year but we enjoyed it just the same. We were surprised to see the new hotels that are being constructed near the beach. They are going up fast.

While we were there we also visited the North Head Lighthouse established 1898. It is located at Cape Disappointment State Park. There is a 250 acre camp ground there, two miles of beach and six miles of hiking trails. That is me at the top of the Lighthouse.

Services today in church went well and my sermon outline on "Total Depravity" is posted on the front page of our website: http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com/

After church I had a voice mail on my cell phone from my Uncle L J in Oklahoma. (I silence my phone while we are at church) He told me that my cousin, Wayne Leroy Williams, has cancer in his pancreas and in his brain. If you are inclined to pray for him we would appreciate it. Wayne Leroy has not had it easy. He has already lost both of his parents and is himself paralyzed from a motorcycle accident.

Steadfast Service.

Good day today in the services at TLBC. I preached on "The Free Agency of Man." Sermon outline is on our church website: http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com/ We passed out about 25 gospel tracts in the neighborhood around the meetng place last week. There is a need for more steadfast service in the Lord's true churches today.

Mom was sick with a sore throat today. We called 911 last night for brother Skip who was having a diabetic fare up. Brother Tim Works also responded (he is a Fire Department Chapline) and all is well. One visitor was there in church today from an encounter we had last week. Pray for Dr Linh. We missed the Apthorps, Buffaloes, VanBrocklins and Jamisons today. Attendance was only in the low teens. Oh that people would put the things of God first on the Lord's Day.

We also visited Tom Caldwell this week in Harborview Coronary ICU. Tom's son Denny is a member of the church in Hayward, Calfornia where Elder T.P. Crawford is pastor. Tom had a stroke after surgery to remove cancer from under is tongue. He could not talk to us but we had prayer with him and made sure that he heard the gospel of our resurrected Lord.

Yours in HIM,

Larry Killion

Life is good.

Marion and I have really enjoyed ourselves recently. When we took our little trip over to Yakima to visit sister Deuchle we left there and went to Leavenworth and spent the night there. Marion has gone several days now where she can walk without her walking stick. See the horse drawn carriage. They have a couple of these running on Front and Commercial streets but we walked...

Last Thursday we went out for dinner with Mom and Maxine at The Old Country Buffet and all had a grand time and then on Saturday we took a trip to Ocean Shores with our grand kids Riley and Bailey. As you can see - they had a good time too as well as we. They are flying our giant delta kites "Snoopy and The Red Barron".
I preached today on "Our Great God" and posted my sermon outline on the front page or our church website. http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com/
Our Missionary to Ireland, Elder Bob Ellis, will be coming home this month with his wife and daughter for a short furlough and we are looking forward to that. They will be here around the time of the Labor Day Bible Conference in Seattle at the South Park Missionary Baptist Church where Elder James Tweet is Pastor. Services start Friday 8/31 at 7PM and will be all day on Saturday 9/1 starting at 10AM. We will have our usual services in Tacoma on Sunday 9/2 with Elder Ellis bringing a mission report in the Sunday School hour and preaching for us at the 11AM hour. Then we'll close our services for the rest of the day and go back up to Seattle for the last portion of the Conference. Come be with us if you are in the neighborhood.

Bailey

Our grandson Bailey will be spending the week with us this week. We hope to take a trip to the ocean while he is here. Perhaps we will go see "Underdog" and take my Mom too if she feels up to it. Marion is doing better and better. We made a trip to Yakima last week and visited sister Deuchel. She is such a blessing. When we left Yakima, we drove on over to Leavenworth and spent the night there. We enjoyed a nice Weiner Schnitzel dinner with the German cooked potatoes and the red cabbage. The next morning we did some shopping and took in a little concert in the park.

My sermon today was on "The Nails of the Cross" and the outline is on the front page of our church website as usual. http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com We had about a dozen total in attendance today and are longing to see more folks show an interest in worshiping God in Spirit and in Truth.

Medical Treatment

Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint.

Both have trouble walking and appear to require a hip replacement. The first patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week. The second sees his family doctor after waiting a week for an appointment, then waits eight weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray, which isn't reviewed for another week, put on lipitor and aspirin, has a stress test, cat scan, MRI, and finally has his surgery scheduled for six weeks from then.

Why the different treatment for the two patients?

The first is a Golden Retriever.

The second is a Senior Citizen.

======================

We enjoyed good services yesterday at http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com/ My sermon was on "The New Creature In Christ" and the outline is on our church website. It was good to see a former member return for a visit in our afternoon services after a couple of years of non attendance. We have other members who also need to start coming back to God's House more faithfully on the Lord's Day.

weddings funerals trains and things...

July has been quite a month so far with a wedding and a funeral and all. I'm so glad that I am no longer hindered by a secular job and it's demands on me anymore. Both mom and Marion are doing better. They were both in church today and it was a good day. God gave us several visitors in our services. Some of the members were out doing other things which is a shame. I preached on how the Ten Comandments were in existance before God gave them on the tables of stone in the wilderness wanderings. See my outline on the frontpage of TLBC website: http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com/

Marion and I went for one last ride on the Spirit of Washington Dinner train up to the Winery in Woodenville from downtown Renton. They are closing the route down at the end of this month. In August they will start a new route from Freight House Square in Tacoma out to Lake Kapowsin. We enjoyed one last ride over the old tressel bridge. Time marches on.

Let me remind you that I am still offering a free sample of Body Balance to anyone who is willing to pay the 7.95 postage for it from Life Force International in San Diego, California. I'm sure this will help your overall health and you will feel better. Go Here: http://tinyurl.com/9c36q

The End is near...

A deacon and a pastor from the local church were standing by the road, pounding a sign into the ground, that reads:

The End is Near! Turn Yourself Around Now Before It's Too Late!

As a car sped past them, the driver yelled, "Leave us alone, you religious nuts!"

From the curve they heard screeching tires and a big splash.

The deacon turns to the pastor and asks,.. "Do you think the sign should just say "BRIDGE OUT" ?????

Pastor Larry J. Killion Phone: 253-537-0129
Email: ljkillion@juno.com

Greetings from TLBC in Tacoma, Washington. This is our Newsletter and Quarterly Report for the 2nd quarter of 2007. Our church attendance still needs improvement. Be in prayer. God is faithful to send visitors. Pastor and Marion enjoyed a wonderful two-week vacation in Kauai in April but missed being at the Bible Conference in Mt. Morris Michigan this year. It was a blessing to attend the Memorial Day Bible Conference in Ontario, California where Elder George Kelley is Pastor. The church there remains faithful to the truth. We are so thankful for them. Some of our dear preacher friends are abandoning the truth on church authority for establishing new churches.

Our Missionaries, brother Cresencio Baldemor in the Philippines and brother Bob Ellis in Ireland are doing well. Brother Baldemor had his 81st birthday in June. Like Caleb of old, he has a heart to press on for the Lord. Brother Ellis is to come home on furlough this summer with his wife Dee and their daughter Leta. They should be here for the Labor Day Bible Conference in Seattle at the South Park Missionary Baptist Church. We are thankful to be able to help out in a small way on other mission fields like Romania where Elder Pugh is, and Honduras where Elder Tweet is, and Papua New Guinea where Elder James is, and Mexico where Elder Craft is, and Australia where Elder Lawrence is. We are also thankful for cards and letters from friends who have encouraged us over the years. Many of you do not know how much of a blessing you have been to us but God knows and He will reward you more than we could ever do.

It has been a year now since Pastor retired from his secular job. It was a wonderful first year of retirement. He supplements his retirement with a small home business. The freedom is very enjoyable. Pastor’s mother has had her ups and downs health wise. She is starting to like her new SHAG apartment more and more but misses her car. Brother Turner is planning to retire from the school district the end of August. They may be moving out of state after that. Marion fell in May and is recovering from a cracked pelvis and compression fracture in her spine. Brother Skip continues to persevere in his battle with diabetes. Sister Russell has learned that she also has diabetes. Sister Maxine is doing fair but her son Donnie is very ill with liver failure. We have some members in distant places and the sisters are faithful to communicate with us but the brethren don’t do that well. Pray for Pastors family. We long to see our grandchildren in church and Sunday school. Pray for Revival, and that the Lord would save the lost and add the saved to the church. AMEN.

It has been one year...

Yes, can't believe it but just one year ago on my birthday June 29th I walked off the job and have NEVER been back. I gotta tell ya, I have never regretted it one bit and this first year of retirement has been absoutely GREAT!

Services were good today at http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com
My sermon outline on "The Circle of Salvation " is on the front page of our website.
========================================
Here are some more one liner things to think about.

1. The best mathematical equation I have ever seen: 1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given.

2. We don't change the message, the message changes us.

3. The Will of God never takes you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

4. The task ahead of us is never asgreat as the Power behind us.

5. Prayer: Don't give God instructions -- just report for duty!
=======================================

I'll be a little busy this week. A few little chores to do around the property. We just finished repainting the house. Of course we are having the church pic nic on Wednesday the 4th. Looking forward to that. Taking Mom in to the Dr. on Thursday and Marion on Friday - then a wedding rehearsal that afternoon and the wedding Saturday. Sure am glad my home biz can pretty much take care of itself. What a nice way to supplement the retirement. Let me help you get stated with a nice home biz like mine.

Greetings,

My sermon today was on Christ's Body. See the sermon outline on our church website. http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com

It was a good day in church today but our visitors did not come back. Mom was out sick again but it was good to see my daughter Tammy and the kids in the services.

My aunt Rosa passed away this week in Kansas. Another relative of a former church member also lost his wife this week. She was only 41. Our heart goes out to those that are grieving at this time.

Several have told us that they want to start attending church more faithfully. That is our prayer for them too. Marion continues to improve slowly from her injuries in the fall. We are planning a church pic nic on the forth of July. That will be fun.
-------------------------------------------
5 more things to think about.

1. I don't know why some people change churches; what difference does it make which one you stay home from?
2. A lot of church members who are singing "Standing on the Promises" are just sitting on the premises.
3. We were called to be witnesses, not lawyers or judges
4. Be ye fishers of men. You catch them -- He'll clean them.
5. Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.

Fathers Day

Happy Fathers day to all the Dads out there. None of my kids were in church today. THAT would have made MY day.

My sermon today was sparked by an interview I had with a kid from a local Christian Acadamy. If you were asked "What are the distinctives of your faith?" What would YOU say? See my answer in my sermon outline "One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism." http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com/

=================
5 more things to think about.
=================
When you get to your wit's end, you'll find God lives there.

People are funny; they want the front of the bus, the middle of the road, and the back of the church.

Opportunity may knock once, but temptation bangs on your front door forever.

Quit griping about your church; if it was perfect, you couldn't belong.

If the church wants a better pastor, it only needs to pray for the one it has.

How are you doing with marketing your site?
If you have decided to take advantage of thethe SAFELIST market out there, here is something you will want to take a look at.
Like everything else, it may take a little time to get it set up but once you do that it will be worth it in the end.

Revised TLBC Front Page

5 Things to think about today.

1. Don't let your worries get the best of you; remember, Moses started out as a basket case.
2. Some people are kind, polite, and sweet-spirited until you try to sit in their pews.
3. Many folks want to serve God, but only as advisors.
4. It is easier to preach ten sermons than it is to live one.
5. The good Lord didn't create anything without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close.
====================
Marion is doing a little better. I was under the weather late this week but am also doing better. We enjoyed worship services today. See our church website. http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com
I have revised the "Our Baptist Heritage" article to illiminate bogus acussations against us as liars. You will understand if you read down past the BOLD print where I formerly had a disclaimer. Some chose to ignore the disclaimer (see post 3-25-07) so I have done away with the need for it.

Afraid of the Dark

AFRAID OF THE DARK
A little boy was afraid of the dark. One night his mother told him to go out to the back porch and bring her the broom. The little boy turned to his mother and said, "Mama, I don't want to go out there. It's dark."

The mother smiled reassuringly at her son. "You don't have to be afraid of the dark," she explained. "Jesus is out there. He'll look after you and protect you." The little boy looked at his mother real hard and asked, "Are you sure he's out there?" "Yes, I'm sure. He is everywhere, and he is always ready to help you when you need him," she said.

The little boy thought about that for a minute and then went to the back door and cracked it a little. Peering out into the darkness, he called, "Jesus? If you're out there, would you please hand me the broom?"
==================
2 Pet 1:19-2119 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.(KJV)
==================
We had a good day today again in the Lord's House. It was good to have three first time visitors. My trip to the Bible Conference in Ontario, California was good. My message today in TLBC was one that I preached at the conference. See outline here: http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com

Marion's MRI showed that she not only has a compression fracture in her L1 vertabrae but there is also a hairline crack in her pelvis. Pray for her. With the help of pain medication, a walker and the grace of God, she was able to be in church today. She goes back to the doctor for a follow up in two weeks.

Memorial Day

In honor of Memorial Day, I hope you will take a moment to read about the sacrifice made by Airman First Class Pittsenbarger:
____________________________________________________________________________________On 11 April 1966, near Cam My, Republic of Vietnam, while assigned as a Pararescue Crew Member, Detachment 6, 38th Aerospace Rescue and Recover Squadron, Airman Pitsenbarger was aboard a rescue helicopter responding to a call for evacuation of casualties incurred in an on-going firefight between elements of the United States Army’s 1st Infantry Division and a sizable enemy force approximately 35 miles east of Saigon.

With complete disregard for personal safety, Airman Pitsenbarger volunteered to ride a hoist more than one hundred feet through the jungle, to the ground. On the ground, he organized and coordinated rescue efforts, cared for the wounded, prepared casualties for evacuation, and insured that the recovery operation continued in a smooth and orderly fashion. Through his personal efforts, the evacuation of the wounded was greatly expedited.

As each of the nine casualties evacuated that day were recovered, Pitsenbarger refused evacuation in order to get one more wounded soldier to safety. After several pick-ups, one of the two rescue helicopters involved in the evacuation was struck by heavy enemy ground fire and was forced to leave the scene for an emergency landing.

Airman Pitsenbarger stayed behind, on the ground, to perform medical duties. Shortly thereafter, the area came under sniper and mortar fire. During a subsequent attempt to evacuate the site, American forces came under heavy assault by a large Viet Cong force.

When the enemy launched the assault, the evacuation was called off and Airman Pitsenbarger took up arms with the besieged infantrymen. He courageously resisted the enemy, braving intense gunfire to gather and distribute vital ammunition to American defenders. As the battle raged on, he repeatedly exposed himself to enemy fire to care for the wounded, pull them out of the line of fire, and return fire whenever he could, during which time, he was wounded three times.

Despite his wounds, he valiantly fought on, simultaneously treating as many wounded as possible. In the vicious fighting which followed, the American forces suffered 80 percent casualties as their perimeter was breached, and Airman Pitsenbarger was finally fatally wounded. Airman Pitsenbarger exposed himself to almost certain death by staying on the ground, and perished while saving the lives of wounded infantrymen.

==================
Who said Airmen are wimps?
==================

I'm home now from my trip to the Bible Conference in Ontario, California. The Theme of the conference was "The Incarnation" I Tim. 3:16. It was wonderful. I preached twice. First on "The Person of the Incarnation" and next on "The Prophesy of the Incarnation".

A painting contractor starts work tomorrow on our house and I take Marion in for a MRI in regard to the pain in her pelvis and hip area from a fall that she took. Pray for her.

Yours,
Larry Killion

MY SHEPHERD

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

A Sunday School teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible; Psalm 23.

She gave the youngsters a month to learn the verse.

Little Bobby was excited about the task. But, he just couldn't remember the Psalm.

After much practice, he could barely get past the first line.

On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Bobby was so nervous.

When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly,

"The Lord is my shepherd and that's all I need to know "

TLBC 07 1st Q Report

The Lord’s Baptist Church
11102 Yakima Avenue South
Tacoma, WA. 98444
www.thelordsbaptistchurch.com
Pastor Larry J. Killion Phone: 253-537-0129

Email: ljkillion@juno.com

Greetings from TLBC in Tacoma, Washington. This is our Newsletter and Quarterly Report for the 1st quarter of 2007. The outlines of Pastor’s most recent sermons are on the front page of our church website. We finished our series on the Sermon on the Mount and have been preaching evangelical sermons.

We began 2007 with a grand meeting in January to celebrate the 27th anniversary of our church. It was a wonderful time with sermons from Elder Garner Smith of Clarksville Tennessee. It was great to fellowship with sister Augusta too.

Our church attendance still needs improvement. Be in prayer. We have started to canvas the neighborhood around the meeting place. God is faithful to send visitors. Our membership is aging and becoming frail in regard to physical health. The younger members are not as faithful as the older ones however. Is this a sign of the end times? We are also saddened by news that brethren in formerly sound churches are departing from the old landmarks of the faith. Pastor is planning to attend the Memorial Day Bible Conference in Ontario, California where Elder George Kelley is Pastor. The church there remains faithful to the truth.

Both of our Missionaries, brother Cresencio Baldemor in the Philippines and brother Bob Ellis in Ireland are doing well and we continue to receive good reports from them about the mission work in those places. Brother Baldemor has a building program going at the Lawa-an Mission work in the Northwestern part of Mindanao. Brother Ellis is planning to come home on furlough some time this summer with his wife Dee and their daughter Leta. We also prayerfully support missions in Mexico, Honduras, Romania, Papua New Guinea, and Australia. We enjoy reading the reports from the brethren in these places and praying for them in our mid-week prayer meeting service.

Pastor retired from his secular job last summer and so far it has been a wonderful first year of retirement. He helps supplement his retirement with a small home business. The freedom is very enjoyable. Pastor’s mother is doing much better now health wise. He sold her car and mobile home for her and helped her get moved into a new SHAG apartment this quarter. Pray for us that we would be found faithful. Surely the coming of the Lord is drawing near.

AMEN.

Higher Power

HIGHER POWER

But, there is a higher power, Can anybody tell me what it is?"

One child blurted, "Aces!"

Home Again.

Marion and I had a GREAT time on our two week vacation in Kauai. I missed the Bible Conference in Mt. Morris, Michigan this year but am geared up for the Memorial Day Conference in Ontario, California the end of this month. We also learned that the So. Park Missionary Baptist Church in Seattle is planning a Labor Day Conference. I'll attend that one too, Lord Willing.

We got home Friday and the services went well today at TLBC. I preached on "The Mystery of Godliness" and my sermon outline is listed on our church website as usual: http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com

When we checked our mail at the Post Office we had two tubs. It was nice to see the checks there from some of my online biz efforts. I really LIKE coming home from vacation and having checks to cash. This is what helped me retire from my secular job. This is also the first time I have ever returned from vacation and did not have to report to work. What a thrill! If you have ever thought about making money from home, let me help you get started.

ALOHA !!!!

Greetings from the Garden Isle.

It has been a while since my last log in. Marion and I have been on vacation in Kauai with my sister Dea and her husband Wally since April 19th.

Brother Jim Turner stood in for me at TLBC while we were gone. My sister Debby checked in on Mom for us. Mom broke her tooth and wound up having to go in for emergency treatment for it. All is well now.

We fly to Oahu tomorrow night from here on Kauai and then on to SeaTac. We should get in around 5:35 AM Friday. Looking forward to being back in church again on Sunday. We had Bible studies here at the Condo because we did not know of any good Sovereign Grace Landmark Baptist churches in this neighborhood.

I checked my email from time to time ande cleared the"junk". New prospects and customers are logging in to my sites and I'm sure there will be some checks at the Post Office when we get home. We had the mail carrier hold our mail for us until we get home.

Walk the Walk

My sermon today at http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com was on "The Pre-eminence Of Christ" and the outline is on the front page of our website.

Yesterday Marion and I were in the "MSWalk" over in Silverdale. It was cool and a little misty but we did OK.

THANK YOU to those who helped with donations.

Here are some pictures of the walk.

We walked for Niki Sue my niece. We also had a good friend from our High School days (Pam Moody) who had MS. There are more people with MS in Western and Central Washington than any other place in the world.

The bottom picture is of the finish line.

Easter Sunday 2007

Geetings in our Savior's precious name. We had good sevices today at TLBC. I had liberty in my preaching. My sermon was on "What Is Today?" You may see it on our church website. http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com

Mom wasn't feeling spunky enough to be in church today. She will be 84 this month. We got her all moved into her new SHAG apartment now and she is liking it more and more each day. I'm thankful to report that we also sold her old mobile home yesterday. That was a blessing.

The Russell family were absent today also due to animal issues down in the goat barn. We called them when we got home and they have two new kids now. All the other "regulars" were there plus we had a family visiting from Naples Idaho.

Your truly,
Larry Killion

A Fairly Normal Day

We had a sweet season of prayer last night at TLBC. Two marvelous answers to prayer. Wayne Turner has been diagnosed as cured from hepatitus C. (according to medical experts, that just does not happen) Another "that does not happen" is eye damage from diabetes being corrected. Well, thanks to our gracious God, it DID happen for George Kelley. Amen. PTL!

Retirement is great.... I woke up this morning around 7:30. Came down stairs and fixed Marion and me our Body Balance. Marion was playing Spider Solitar. I put on some Slak Key Guitar music from Hawaii and relaxed a while. Around 8:30 I made breakfast for us. Ham and cheeze omlet with rye toast, salsa, and pineapple orange juice.

Around 10:00 we went to the Dollar Store and got some vacuum bags for Mom's Hoover. Then we went over to her old home and checked the mail and disassembled the day bed and brought it back and stowed it in the garage. We stopped off at Fred Meyers to check on something and found a nice little table that would work well in Mom's new home. Well, when we got to Mom's we discovered that the table (assembly required) was missing some parts. We took it back to Fred's but there were no other units in stock so we just got our money back. We came back home and had BLTs on toast for lunch. I called Mom to let her know the table deal fell through.

One of the potential buyers for Mom's old home called to see if there was any news back from the background check required by the Moblile Home Park. (We have a couple of folks who have applied for the screening to stay in the park) I called Miranda the Park Manager. She told me there may be a problem with the first one who applied because it had not come back and it usually would be back by now if there was not a problem. I told them that the second applicant was actually the one we preferred to sell the home to because they made us a better offer than the first. Miranda said she would call the screening company for the second applicant and see if they can hurry it up any. It would be great if we could get this deal all closed out and settled by this weekend.

Then Marion and I went over to Lowes and got some lumber to build a small deck for our back door. I had a 10.00 gift card that I won when I bought the for sale sign (3.00) for Mom's old home. It is a beautiful day today and tomorrow is going to be nice too. We've decided to relax the rest of the day. We'll set on the porch swing around sunset and probably watch one of our Netflix movies later. Two more weeks until our two week trip to Kauai. Alo-HA!

Two more checks came in the mail today from some of my online pages. I like that. May I intice you to take a look at something that is working for me to bring in a few extra bucks?

April Fool

No, I don't have an April Fool prank to pull on you. I'm just happy to see you stop by for a visit on my Blog. My sermon outline at church today is on our website as usual at http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com

We spent all day yesterday moving Mom from her old Mobile Home to her new SHAG Apartment. I think she is really going to like it once she gets settled in. We have a sale pending on her Mobile Home and a couple of guys in the wings who are interested if the sale falls through. The apartment is smaller than her Mobile Home was so again we have some more additions to the "stuff" piling up in our basement. One of these days we are going to have to do something about clearing out our "free storeage" for the family.

Actually, I was busy pretty much all last week boxing up stuff for the move and showing the trailer to prospective buyers. I haven't had much time to do anything with my online income streams but REALLY that is the beauty of it all. Once it is set up, you can work it or not work it and there is usually some sort of check that comes in anyway. Sweet.

May I invite you to join me in the Marketing Pond? Take a look at the link here http://www.marketingpond.com/ref.cgi/83/ You can get your very own Marketing Pond LINK absolutely free and everything on Marketing Pond is also free to join. I highly recommend it. There are several money making possibilities here with no risk what so ever.

DID NOAH FISH?

A Sunday school teacher asked, "Johnny, do you think

Noah did a lot of fishing when he was on the Ark?"

"No," replied Johnny.

"How could he, with just two worms."

Marion and I went out yesterday to see our granddaughter Kiersten

race her Quad. My, how exciting. I'll try and post a couple of pictures

I took on my cell phone. I have a short video too but am not

technical enough to get it posted yet.

Looking Back

LOT'S WIFE

The Sunday School teacher was describing how Lot's
wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt,
when little Johnny interrupted, "My Mummy looked
back once, while she was DRIVING," he announced
triumphantly, "and she turned into a telephone pole!"
===============================

I found some old notes about a missionary trip I took
to Russia several years ago and am thinking about
publishing them in book form. More to come on that.

Good services in church today. See sermon outline here:
http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com

Attendance was in the mid-teens. If you would like to
see a DVD of any of the sermons mentioned on this BLOG
please let me know. We can do that.

Looking back to my lay off in 2000, I am thankful now
for it all. It was not pleasant at the time but it got me
started with my online home business and NOW I am
retired and no longer under the thumb of "the man."

Story of Elijah

STORY OF ELIJAH

The Sunday school teacher was carefully explaining
the story of Elijah the Prophet and the false prophets
of Baal. She explained how Elijah built the altar,
put wood upon it, cut the steer in pieces, and laid
it upon the altar. And then, Elijah commanded the
people of God to fill four barrels of water and pour
it over the altar. He had them do this four times.

"Now," said the teacher, "can anyone in the class
tell me why the Lord would have Elijah pour water over
the steer on the altar?" A little girl in the back of
the room started waving her hand, "I know, I know,"
she said, "to make the gravy!"
=====================
My sermon today was on "Regeneration and Conversion."
The outline is on the front page of our church website.

Mom is doing much better. I sold her old '70 Chevy this
week and we have an ad in the paper for her mobile home
as we plan on her move to the SHAG Senior apartments
the first of April.

Would you be willing to try a free sample of Body Balance?
Marion and I have been taking this product since June 0f '03
and we are totaly sold on it. If you will agree to pay for the
shipping (7.95) I'll see to it that Life Force sends you a quart
on auto shipment for no charge. Just go to this site for your

Graphic Sunday School

A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the
story of the Good Samaritan, in which a man was
beaten, robbed and left for dead. She described the
situation in vivid detail so her students would catch
the drama.

Then, she asked the class, "If you saw a person lying
on the roadside, all wounded and bleeding, what would
you do?"

A thoughtful little girl broke the hushed silence,
"I think I'd throw up."
===============================

When we talked to Mom this morning about picking
her up for church we learned that she was having some
medical problems. Marion went over and took her down
to the ER at Tacoma General. I went on to church.

Marion's SS class stayed out with us big kids. My Sermon
today was titled "FORSAKEN". Outline can be reviewed
as usual here: http://thelordsbaptistchurch.com

After church I went over and checked on mom's place and then
went down to TG. We finally got home tonight around 8PM. All
is well. Mom was diagnosed with having a fainting spell but none
of the tests indicate any major problem.
